  • These awesome musicians braved the fierce waters of the Minch to visit us at Wee Studio. We recorded this video with them. You won't find a nicer band! We love these guys!
Big thanks to our friends at Quantic Media.

Nine years, nine, I've been looking for this song. And now, nine fucking years later, I found it and listened to it to the end. God it was unforgettable. Thank.

Do the bagpipes play sharps and flats or does the player have to bend the notes with their mouth? Or does the mouth just provide the air?

They don't really play sharps and flats unless you tune them that way however, you can partially cover a hole on the chanter to give a flat/sharp depending on how you want This can be done with fingers (rare during play) or by tape (if required during tuning). Apart from tuning it flat/sharp, the best you get during play is to slide off a note to give that scooping sound you hear here. The mouth simply provides the air into the bag.
      Hope that makes sense.

Unfortunately played way too fast and that makes it unclean and hasty, the bagpipes run after them, otherwise the songs are well chosen.

Technically perfect, but can´t help feeling that something is lacking, like they´re competing for a prize or something, and terrified of making the least mistake. I could suffer the odd bum note if it had a bit more spirit to it. Sin mar a tha mi a´ faireachdainn, có-dhiù ...
