Thanks for all your comments! It is so fascinating to me how we are all experience similar versions of the same thing around the world. NOTE: many have suggested we should have spoken with a store manager before shopping. I may not have been very clear in explaining it, but Solo spoke at length with a manager. There was not much they could do. Hope you are all able to get the things you need!
Our Tribe of Many a great way to freeze fresh herbs is to combine it with olive oil in ice cube trays!! Then take it out and add to your cooking! A little extra healthy fat never hurt anyone 😊
Love the video and your family is so awesome and inspiring. Keep it up. I came from a large family, and it’s funny I remember grocery shopping with my mom and being embarrassed about how much food we had in our cart..., LOL isn’t that funny thought that popped into my head
So weird to say but I love how engaged your husband is when you’re talking. You can tell he really loves you! I grew up with a dad who totally didn’t respect my mom at all so I always notice things like that. So special!
Sorry 2hear that. I often thank my mom 4 carrying so much 4my dad in his death bed. She said, "That's da least I could've done." He cared n loved4us all his life, till his last dying breath I assumed him I would love/care 4my boys n family just like he did. His heavenly anniversary was 04/02. Thank u daddy n mama love u 4/life
Same here Stephanie! My dad has never been this type of "thoughtful" with any of his wifes. TBH He's what we call a "masochist" ! It sucks but he shows his love in his own way, and I love him either way...
Hey, everyone should do that so they can get more than others! Great idea! NOT! The idea of limits isn't to deprive large families of what they need, it is to limit ALL families to a small amount so that EVERY family gets a bit of what they need! I really like Sarah and Solo, but I was very disappointed in them when watching this video. I do not care what they eat or how much they eat or buy, but they should absolutely abide by the same rules that everyone else is being asked to abide by! If having a large family means they must go to multiple stores in order to get what they need, they that is what they should do!
sortathesame I’m sorry but no! I get that we all need to share but she has 10 kids and her kids need to be fed I have one kid. So no it would not be fair that she would be force to buy the same amount of food that I but for my family of 3!
sortathesame you sound miserably. They have a bigger family. So, should they get a bag that won’t feed their family or get what will feed their family? If you’re so disappointed, as if she cares, go else where.
KarlaGreta yes, her kids need to be fed, but if stores use that as a reason to give then more, that means a family of four may well get nothing. I have four children myself and I get thing for my mom who is 86 and for my dad and his second wife (88 & 82), but still only get one of each item if that is how it is marked. Like I said, one of each, allows everyone to get some. I know it is easier to cook one large meal of the same foods, but they could do what three smaller families are doing and make three separate meals and stick to the one of each. Or they could shop more often than once a month while items are limited. We are all making due right now!
I feel bad for families as large as yours during this pandemic because you guys “need” all this food with 10 children. You’re not panic buying or hoarding. Take care Faith over fear.
@@AliciaLee Me too. I have 10 people in my house and when I go to the store, I get threatening looks and even people have said things to me because it looks like I am over buying. The worst things are the minimums that they put on items and I am like that will not feed a family of ten, maybe a family of 4. Otherwise, I need to go to the store frequently. This is the worst.
DePaula Ross absolutely! I have all my family picking up anything they can where limits are not enforced. It really is taking a village 😫. Also, I have a 13, 11, 9, 5 and 3 year old, the older ones eat like adults and younger ones love to graze. 🥴
@@AliciaLee Yes, my family ranges from 1 month old grand baby to 21 when it comes to children. The older ones eat like they are eating their last meal. Mine are 21, 21, 18, 16, 14, 9, 7, and 1 month. I do understand your pain.
I grew up with 15 siblings. We usually shopped for two months at a time. We had our own garden. Grew up on a dairy so we had, milk and butter. We made our own bread. My Mom had three sets of twins. Oh yes my mother worked full time at a hospital. My parents were married 60 years. So, bless your family. I couldn’t imagine shopping during this pandemic. We had one frig and two freezers. It’s weird none of my siblings have more then three to four kids or none.
No surprise that your siblings chose less children. They saw the work and cost of a large family. My grandma was second of thirteen. It was her job to help the others. At the family reunions, grandma had all the youngest kids. Then came the next generation, great- grands and -nieces, -nephews.
Well said! No Clorox wipes, disinfectant sprays, or things of that nature - yet plenty of fresh fruits and veggies that can boost immune systems naturally.
@Caramel Cupcake You can't separate them. Plus large families hoard too! There is nothing to stop them from going store to store buying as much as they can, with a little sign saying they have eight kids! I have a hard time believing that people just smiled because there are so many complaining about large families sucking up too much of the food supply. Even on this channel where everyone knows Solo and Sarah have ten kids, people are complaining about the size of their family!
Your husband cracks me up. He doesn't say much, but when he does I laugh each time. He can be sarcastic and serious looking at the same time. Tell him hello and I enjoy his personality!!
We are missionaries in South Africa. This week I caught myself so frustrated with having to go to various stores to find all my favorite stuff to stock up on. I was hot and stressed from the stores when we decided to buy our church people, who live in very rough townships a few staple bulk items (rice, flour and oil). When we delivered the items to them (before our countrywide lockdown) my perspective changed..... they clapped and raised their hands to praise God for these items that many had just ran out of. It was like they knew all would be ok now, simply because they had rice, flour, and oil. It has changed how our family has looked at all our inconveniences during this time. It was a huge lesson for me.
@Amy Coffey There are lessons to be learned through out life we just have to be receptive to hear them from God. I went hungry as a child many nights a week and than I was a homeless teenage girl at 15 years old that had to leave where I grew up some to save my life. I than went hungry so if people want to buy me stuff and say write a list I give them a food list. Not a junk food list either. It feels good when you help others doesn't it? Our rewards will come latter!

True. And besides, you had no way of knowing the CORONA was just around the corner 😜 I think you do quite well with all your planning and decisions. Blessings.
You should try scanning all the products on the Sam's club app when you're in the store. Then you just hit pay at the end and walk out. Then you wont have to go through the check out line! Super easy! And worth it!
Ladies and gentlemen, she has 10 kids, a husband and still has time to make bread!!! I have 1 child and complain about there's not enough time for anything...What am I doing with my life????
@@mercedesposey2706 WHAT IS THAT SUPPOSED TO MEAN?? YES, her children and husband are a FULL TIME JOB where payment and benefits is pure LOVE. As a woman I am surprised at this question. You're probably NOT a mother yet and maybe you'll get it then!
@@jojodoto.9840 I think she was asking because if she didn't have another occupation that would explain why she has more time to dedicate to her family. Many families are dual income so parents don't have much time for meal prep, and single parents have even less time because they can't divide house responsibilities with their partner.
Johanna Oliver I’m merely saying women put so much pressure on themselves. Yes her “job” is at home but she’s at home. It’s a completely different responsibility than working a 9:00-5:00.
“The kids are going to enjoy this quarantine.” That is what families should strive to provide for their kids. Not fear and panic, but the family time. The laughter and a feeling of security. People who grew up during the depression often say, “We didn’t know we were poor.” That is my prayer for the children of today. That they will say, “I didn’t know how bad it was. I just remember spending a lot of time with my family.”
Yes!! We are trying to eat around the same foods. We eat cheaply though anyways. He will remember having to do school at home and I hope that is all the "rough" part my son feels. We are trying to keep busy doing cooking, movies, walks/hiking, and playing outside. Zoo tours online is helping too.
Kroger was out of rice! I went to the international isle and there were like 20 bags, guess none thought to look there. I only got 1 because it w as 5 lbs.
The stores in my area have been able to restock pretty much everything again (except yeast). There's not an actual shortage of food. It's jst that most ppl went out to buy weeks worth of groceries all at the same time.
Just an idea, but I’m in Louisiana, & our Walmart was out of most of the staples: eggs, cheese, flour, yeast, etc. On a whim I stopped at a smaller chain grocery store and they had every single thing I needed. It was a true blessing! On another note: I work in healthcare (at a local hospital) I am astounded at the people who are just not getting it! They still want to speak in very close proximity, they are coming in to the ER in groups. (The whole family and extras are not allowed in.) Please listen to the guidelines & take this seriously! We just want you to stay safe, smart, & healthy!!! Believe me, your hospital/ER is NOT where you want to be right now!!!😬 Ps: thank you guys for always being a lovely positive place to enjoy, especially now! Stay well 😊🙏🏼❤️
He in my home town Kingston upon Hull in east Yorkshire England my local hospital has opened a coronavirus pods so that it's no were near main hospital building
I work as a nurse in the UMCG in Groningen the North of the Netherlands. We have a special corona outpatients clinic/ER. Patiënt can have only 1 visite as long as they are not stick, have a cold etc. And the worst is yet to come. But at least today empty beaches. Leave it up to the Dutch to have a intelectial lockdown. Means no complete lockdown but as much as possible.
Gosh I can’t imagine trying to buy that much food because most stores are limiting how much you can for certain items. Please everyone with lots of children! Stay safe and healthy to all!
I love how positive both you and Solo are! You both truely show Gods love through everything and always turn a negative into a positive. It's so great to see!!
I’m thinking about all the people around the world who can’t afford to stock up even to last three days with 4 to5 members in the family. We have to be extra grateful during this hard times. May be we won’t be able to keep up the same diet or choice of food and we should not expect the same luxury either. Stay safe everyone.
Never be sorry for taking care of your family's needs. Over the years I've learned to quit caring about what other people think. The food shortage is no joke and it isn't because of hording.
Glinda thegoodwitch I think that because of the way things are that the store trucks should have more than one trip for people. At least until this is over. I see why people buy in bulk now is because it is better to make one trip, but it is frustrating that there isn’t a whole lot to choose from.
@@kimberly1567 you struggle finding positive attributes in people who feel its necessary for families to take care of themselves??? Are you crazy ??? This was the BEST advice ever.
@@ms.anonymousinformer242 Please don't be so simple minded. You speak in such wide reaching general terms making greed acceptable. I'm all for being prepared but not at others expense. If you want to build a gigantic 2nd house addition and purchase $200,000 in supplies, fine. Go ahead. But it's wrong to build that addition and then wait for next warning, THEN fill your addition, preventing many others from acquiring their basic needs. Now go take a nap on your bed made of toilet paper thinking yourself so proud to buy 1000 rolls which maybe forced several to maybe drive to several stores searching. Look back now in hindsight. We had no food shortages. But many were were inconvenienced by others greed and unpreparedness.
I'm not sure if someone mentioned it, but you can separate out the tomato sauce into quart ziplocs in 2-3 cup portions and freeze (laying them flat for easier storage). It defrosts pretty quickly!
Great learning opportunity for your kids to appreciate how privileged they are to usually have access to all the milk and food they want. In times like these, they wont die from having to ration on certain items or completely have to do without it. There are milk alternatives...
Absolutly! I had bought several large boxes of dried milk in early Dec. 2019, because I always make up jars of hot chocolate and various teas and other things for Christmas presents and I had a good bit of dried milk left. Normally I would have just pitched the left over dried milk since I wouldn't use it again until next Dec., but for some reason I just put it in my pantry when I got home from our Christmas trip. Now we are cooking with/drinking it and being thankful for it!
Stores are empty because everyone hoarded when they had money 2 weeks ago when this crisis started. Be aware, as soon as the 1st of the month comes or the stimulus checks get deposited there will be panic buying again!!! I understand you need to shop for your large family and you do a great job. Stay safe and healthy!!!
I told my husband the same thing! Stimulus checks and people on SSA, SSI and government assistance will be shopping. Some will be getting what they need but others will be panic buying.
Every time a member of my family or anyone in general complains about people “over” buying I always tell them about Sarah’s family. I have 3 children we are a family of 5 plus 4 animals. People were buying pet food too, but I bought what we needed which was a lot so with 10, Yeah I feel bad for them.
Yes I too have gotten the look at the store. Right now I have not just my family (of 5) I have 4 extra kids right now! They have been here with me for a few months now. So my grocery list has really expanded! Just getting things I actually need for my kids. I kinda get it tho I mean you see me at the store I'm sure you don't think I have such a big family at home. But I do so before anyone judges anyone please think about that!! ❤️
It's sad when you can't shop without being judged. Everyones situation is different. There are people with large families or people who may be shopping for others like the homeless or the elderly. We all get that the stores are trying to limit items so that others can have but it is just sad. You just have to find creative ways to just get what you need...the legal way. Thank you for bringing us along and giving your perspective in these stores during this time.
Karen D same here! We have been to meat packaging places and had some luck but that was a week ago and we’re out! Mine don’t eat a lot either more so whinny b/c I can’t find what they’re used to. Like me buying fresh fruits a couple times a week and lunchables. 🤦🏽♀️
I love how much Solo has been on here lately. His prospective has been a wonderful addition and gotten my husband into watching your channel now! Also I feel you on the limits though we only have four. Sam’s Club had no qualms about taking things that were over the limit out of my cart, and I’m allergic to beef so no back up for us! Blessedly Kroger’s knows us well and let us go over the limit to get enough for my kids for the next two weeks. Though our fresh food selection was 👎🏼 compared to y’all. I must have gone after a rush. And we haven’t had frozen veggies in a while due to them being out. I’ll keep praying for you all to have enough, especially on toilet paper! May God keep you all healthy.
Lizard Chase oddly Kroger has a better selection of fresh stuff in the afternoon. I went at opening last Monday and it was slim pickings for most stuff then went back Tuesday as I needed more things and produce had a bounty of selection!
We're a family of 10. I have been SO GRATEFUL that through all of this I've had friends who call when they're going to the store and will pick things up for me. The limits make it really hard to feed my family even for just 1 week! Twice I've had people show up at my door with toilet paper. It is so awesome to watch God provide what we need through this!! Today I'm praying for some lunch meat. The store was out when I got groceries yesterday. I know that food is in this town somewhere. I'm praying that exactly what I need will show up today.
I had a friend who has 6 kids. He went to Costco with a sign on his back that said, "I'm not hoarding, I have 6 kids". I know you make your own bread. My niece manages a Panera Bread, and they will make bread for you when you order ahead. I'm just one person...so I'm doing it to support local business
I'm watching old hauls its funny girl don't forget your dream pantry now that your building so much fun fun fun your gonna get it now in 2024! I love it
I totally understand the limit. Everyone wants to stock up too. They want to feed their family and stay out of store too. Everyone needs to work together.
Unfortunately many have to choose between fresh and shelf stable items. Also some have to pick what’s cheapest and will fill tummy’s and not what’s healthiest 😔 sad truth for those living at or below the poverty line.
Exactly. She acts like people are dumb and don't know what foods are healthy and what foods are not. Trust me, 99.9% of people know what foods is healthy. But when it comes to a pandemics, it's smart to stock up on rice, beans, canned goods, long shelf items. It's also smart for poor people to buy things that's a bang for their bucks vs what's healthiest.
@@kristinsmith4375 That might not be what she meant but it doesn't change the fact that she SAID IT. Go re-watch video for confirmation. She literally said people don't know what foods is good for their immune system. In the age of internet, where information is accessible at one's finger tip, and she said people still don't know the difference between healthy and unhealthy foods? Give me a break.
I am single, no kids, and am an "essential worker" due to working at a nursing home. I figured out early that the people doing the most were people with monthly incomes. I got enough to carry me and went out "foraging" a couple weeks later. No problem. And others I know who are "essential", when we happen upon needed items, we get the limit so we can help each other out. I can understand not wanting to go out shopping again, but with 10 kids, good luck with that one. I admire the way the two of you work together, Solo and Sara. Good luck during this stressful time. And everyone, BE SAFE!
Since this virus and confinement has started the Lord keeps bringing to my mind what King David said.... I once was young and now I’m old yet I have never seen the righteous forsaken nor His seed begging bread. All 3 of our children are grown with their own families, my husband and I FaceTime with them and our five grandchildren. By the Grace of God we are making it. Blessings on you and your family. God never fails!
How to Faith A Life Gods word is for sharing! I read somewhere that Covid19 came in like a lion but it will go out by the Blood of the Lamb! Made my soul sing!
Praise the Lord y'all got enough food. It broke my heart so bad seeing y'all try to shop with the limits 💔 I'm still crying. Yalls family is so very sweet. It's just me and my 3 fur babies but they are my children. I've got them stocked up good. God bless your family and may God be with us all during this very scary time.
When i have extra tomato sauce of any kind i put it in a freezer bag, date it and lay it flat while it freezes. It takes little room that way. It freezes and thaws great. No difference!
Nobody needs eggs but the hens, you should be cooking those eggs and feeding them back to the hens to help with the calcium loss from laying. And cows don't produce milk unless pregnant, so you'd have to slaughter the calf too, after taking it from its distressed mother. Please STOP animal abuse, this is how we got into this mess with Covid in the first place
It sucks for families like mine that live pay check to pay check because we cant buy big amounts of food all at once and when we do go to the store theres nothing left, it's so frustrating.🤷♀️
I feel you Brenda, the people that can afford to buy loads at once have bought all the affordable stuff, there’s only the Premium stuff left which means I ban afford even less food!
What is also frustrating is that I can't even use pick up anymore because since I have to wait for to get paid to buy food and they're booked 2 weeks in advance(you have to pay when you order). So I'm causing myself more pain having to go out and than hit 3 or 4 stores just to find food for two weeks.
I'm constantly thinking the same thing, how can I stay quarantined if I have to go back to the store for something. At the same time I understand I am able to find what I need because a limit was set. Watching you guys shop was great. It's a reminder to us all not to judge everyone has different size families. Patience and understanding goes a long way.
The problem is that everyone is trying to shop for a month worth of groceries when there are immediate stocks only for one or two weeks worth. Also keeping in mind that with restaurants closing, children not eating at the school cafeteria and people working from / staying home, more meals than usual are being cooked at home, and so the need for food from general alimentation stores is obviously rising. There's a balance to find between stocking up enough to avoid going back to stores too often, but also having a sense "responsibility" or "community" (I don't know how to say it in english but like, people with large stocks of food are "safer" at the depends of people who don't/can't have stocks : while some people won't have to go out for the month, some people will have to go out several more times, and maybe also go to several different stores, just to get the basic necessities for a week because things aren't available. ). It's a shame that the store manager couldn't do anything regarding the fact that you have a large family, but if you told him you were shopping for the month... well this is still stocking up over the store capacities, and he must have dozen of people like you coming up to him all with very good reasons to do it but at the end the numbers add up. I know you guys are not hoarding, it's what you do usually for understable reasons, and are not complaining, and are not the only ones...etc.
Maybe they should adjusting for shop for 2 weeks or a week. Because this pandemic situation... Just have to make all of us adaptable with a "new" normal.
Indigo Snps The issue is they’re not really altering from their normal pattern. They only shopped once a month. It’s the rest of us that are causing this issue not them.
@@annamariagonzalez6934 Supplies are now limited with restaurants closed and many more now cooking at home. Everyone is having to make adjustments for short term buying. It appears selfish to me this family wants to continue as normal and buy 4 weeks worth. We all need to share rather than have the attitude of " I am going to get mine one way or the other". For some to to stockpile forcing others to go without is stupid and selfish.I bet Maria would like to make spaghetti tonight but she cant because of no hamburger....but Marsha surprisingly put 12packs of hamburger in her freezer yesterday. Back during WWII families were allocated how much they could buy and also how much gasoline they could buy. What would this family have done back then? Think about that. To put it in perspective, these two want to shop once for 4 weeks groceries probably forcing others to make numerous trips to grocery trying to find needed items. Nice family but they def showed defensive selfish moves seeking 4 weeks when 1 week should have been all they purchased
I walked in to the supermarket today and found toilet paper for the first time in over a month. Took a photo to commemorate the occasion haha, what the world has come to for that to be the highlight of my day!
What the hell ?? I can’t even imagine that! In Austria we dont have this problem at all! Like yeah we have Corona but there’s plenty of toilet paper and food in the stores.
Beth Meyers my Kroger affiliate store isn’t putting paper products, diapers, cases of water, etc on the shelves. They have them all in one spot in the store so employees can distribute the limit of 1. Maybe check your store for an area like that??
The hoarders have made it WAY harder on everyone else. I was amazed at the major differences in prices. One positive is since I’m working remotely I have a lot more money saved.
Yes! I only need food for my boyfriend and myself and it makes it soooo hard for people with small households to get the regular stuff they need. Its ridiculous. THANKFULLY the stores are slowly stocking back up and it's easier to find stuff.
the limiting items things makes a lot of sense some store don't get trucks of items daily so if 1 customer goes and buys all the stock of items who knows how long it'll take for the item to be back in stock for others to buy
I love how you two laugh together so much, even when you can't get everything you need for your family. I agree, I wish you could have some kind of waiver saying you have an army to feed!😄
Sara and Solo, isn't it amazing that when everyone is stuck inside, the gas prices have dropped. Apparently Russia and Saudi Arabia are having a price war on barrels of oil. Love you guys. Keep safe
I would love to shop for the month but I feel like I don't have space for all that food... I would love to see how you store everything to get some ideas 😁
I only have 3 kids but sometimes I buy too much stuff for the freezer without even thinking 🤦..and Everytime, I'm like why do I do this to myself? Lol. My solution is get rid of all the boxes! Its gives you so much more room. If I need instructions from the box I just write it down in a notepad or breakdown the box and save it stashed somewhere until i cook it
There’s only 2 of us (my husband) and I have the habit of always over shopping the groceries. My fridge is always full. I had to stop myself several times for shopping too much
We are also a large family and find the limits difficult! Where we are its 1 item per family which is frustrating when your kids can go through that 1 item that lasts the average family a week in 1 day. We understand why the limits were placed but my husband jokes he is getting us shirts with our family picture on it to shop it 😂
Yeah, I had no idea I’m a “panicking hoarder” until this virus hit! 😉 I didn’t know buying 2 weeks worth of groceries for a family of 4 is so unusual. What people don’t realize is if 100 people buy 4 extra cans of soup, it’s going to wipe out a store. It doesn’t take hoarding to deplete stock. Stores aren’t used to everyone buying like my husband and I usually do. The judgement is real! Stay safe!
I try to get basics once a month. Other things are as needed. However, since December I have been putting a little something aside and I have built a nice little stock. My reason was after watching Ice Age Farmer I started to notice there was a food shortage coming.
I like a pantry/freezer of 3-12 months of food and personal/household goods. While it sounds like hoarding it’s not. The food is used and rotated, or given away 6-12 mos before expiration. I don’t give to a regional bank. I go local, its given out right away, not stored. Why keep 3-12 mos - family emergency, job loss, weather emergency and the list goes on. Whatever else is happening, there isn’t food insecurity. My ex was on family medical leave for 6 mos unpaid. The food was like a savings account we dipped into. $0 zero food budget was okay. It allowed heat and mortgage on my pay. No extras, but we were together and safe. This happened during a recession and most of my family were struggling. I could even help them a little. I also yardsaled and thrifted for a year of clothing for our son. People thought we were rich, but we were just prepared. So when others hit the shelves, I sat home watching and praying for their situations. After the frenzy calmed, I added to my stock pile as we will be adding 2 adults and a newborn soon. If this lasts longer then a year, fine. If not, I’m willing to donate any extra. When the virus threat ends there will still be those who need. So no, I’m not a hoarder, I use what I buy or freely give it away.
As a fellow person who works in retail. I understand your concern. Especially the milk. However, our cooler/freezer/staple items are so bare now because no one had limits in the beginning to stop the hoarders. We do want you to stay home, but we also need other people to be able to get items as well. Its not a perfect system but we're trying our best. Loved the video!!!
I can only imagine attempting to have enough to feed a family of 12. It difficult enough on us for just a small family especially 3 meals a day. I'm glad to see you all stocking up on really healthy items for the family.
It’s too bad at a time like now when they’re limited amounts you can purchase, that you can’t get some sort of waiver explaining you have 10 children! A limit of one package of toilet paper or two cartons of eggs is not enough for you folks. The rule is helpful to ward against hoarding but I’m sure a bit stressful for you guys. Stay safe!
Sam I totally agree with you. If a family has multiple children, they should qualify for more of the limited items. My Target is limiting people to one item of eggs, milk, toilet paper, soap, disinfectant, water, napkins, etc. Unfortunately some of the toilet paper is in small packages only. I hope that her husband can get a separate cart to get their necessities!
Michelle, although it is a very scary time, try to resist fear and practice faith. Start believing God for answers to your prayers. As God answers these prayers this will reduce your fear and build up your faith. God loves you and he has not forsaken you! He will never leave you! Praying for you!

Ive been watching for awhile and this is my first time commenting. I seriously look forward to your videos every week! I think I have everyone’s name down now. 🤣 Your such a beautiful person to watch and your family is adorable. I love the connection between you and Solo! 😊 Looking forward to seeing all the quarantine videos! God Bless and take care! ❤️
I am from Denmark and sure am glad we don’t have that silly system with only one pr. costumer. When you have a family of 12 people, it can’t be fair to have the same limets as a family of 2 or 4.. That is crazy. There has to be a better way.
We do not normally have a one per customer rule either, but when people heard about this pandemic, far too many went to the stores and cleared the shelves and then did it again and again every time the store got a new shipment. That left nothing for others, so items that were being hoarded required a limit in order for everyone to get some. In a country with fewer than 6 million people, hoarding can quickly be controlled, but in a country of 350 million, it can and did get out of control very quickly! The quickest, most fair way to end the hoarding was to place a limit of one each on items that are in high demand or lower in stock. Having an extremely large family doesn’t mean you cannot get what you want or need, it just means that you may temporarily need to shop more often than once every four or five weeks or just shop at more than one store so that there will be something on the shelves for every family who needs to feed their children!
If this pandemic situation goes onto May, show a photo of your family to people who might question your over loaded cart at the store! Love you guys 💕!
I have a friend with 5 kids and she was having to go to the store every other day to have enough milk. She started going to convenience stores just for the milk and there are no limits.
i think you can live without milk.. this whole thing is showing us how to give up certain privileges for the good of our community. and drinking another mother’s milk is certainly an odd privilege.
I come from a family of 10 and right now we’re having to decide what is an essential purchase and what isn’t. And milk is limited so we don’t buy as much and we limit the drinking of it. We’re also buying almond milk to supplement.
I’m in MI, it’s pretty bad here right now and we live in Oakland county where it’s also very bad. Keep trying to stock up for a few weeks but my teens being home 24/7 is not helping. Desperately wish we had the money to put a fridge/freezer out in the garage but we just don’t. I get so scared every time I have to go into the stores 😭 please say an extra prayer for us please
Brittany Olson I have been, I don’t care what it looks like but when I do find one it’s out of our price range...especially while feeding a family of five and I was just laid off. Sadly it just means we’re in stores a lot more and I’m a little more scared/anxious but it could be way worse and I’m well aware of that. Just trying to keep faith, not get sick and stay thankful
Working at a grocery store, I can tell you, most people are trying to stock up but the issue is actually getting the product to the store. The limits are designed so that the store can keep product longer because right now the warehouses are getting empty really fast.
I almost wrote an entire explanation for this... Not only that but if items are unusually selling out faster than expected stores can usually manually bump the order at this time... At least where i work we are blocked and locked out of manually bumping orders so we can only receive whatever the computer/system orders for us. And at this time every store is trying to order the same items :/ what needs to happen is level headed calm people need to please shop once a week then STAY HOME the rest of the week we as cashiers or stockers are in direct contact with so many people all day. Shop and go home stop coming back every day to "stock up" for a month when ur gonna be back before the month is over anyways to check on toilet paper so just come once a week stay home the rest of the week let us restock our shelves if everyone can do that the limits would be more relaxed but i see the same customers come in daily purchasing more and more large baskets. Stay home please
The supply chain is far more complicated than that. Stores know what they sell daily weekly monthly and season to season. They do not have giant warehouses holding loads of stock.. they operate holding a few days to a weeks worth and distribute it saving on storage.. stock comes in from manufacturers its sorted and shipped to branches. so they have to order more and the manufacturers need to increase production because they do not hold a huge surplus its not cost effective just having things lying around. They need to increase production or packing all of it has a knock on effect packaging those makers need to ramp up production.. normally the biggest turnover is Christmas .. and they plan and staff for it.. This is Christmas every day for weeks and months. The switching of everyone from buying food in cafes restaurants at works food trucks in other areas working.. these people are now buying all food from grocery stores. The supply lines for restaurants franchises industrial catering do not connect to food supplies for grocery stores. Its happened in all countries this is a massive effect to the sales switch you see. Plus the delays increasing ordering and increasing deliveries from distribution warehouses to stores. In the UK the government had to relax driving laws for lorry drivers to allow for the swing of food supply lines. Stores have a set stock holding and it requires a head office to adjust levels of stock and change deliveries to accommodate.. and depends on storage in branches how much frozen refrigerated you can hold how much can be added on each delivery route so all stores get extra... its a massive task massive impact on retailers. Nothing wrong with supply lines.. its just crowd mentality empty shelves make people panic and buy more. Retailers have also cut trading hours in the UK to allow shelves to be restocked overnight and added limits to combat the silly panic buyers. It will not stop.. they announced a billion pounds of extra food was in people homes... they are still buying every tin every packet every toilet roll... nobody is going to starve.. you might have problems with toilet roll and have to switch to paper towels.. you may have to swap brands.. it will all keep coming cows still need to be milked chickens still lay eggs farmers still grow all the fruit and vegetables… but the long life tins and packets pasta and rice will keep getting grabbed.. and its sad because that's what the poorest survive on and the food banks/food pantries that millions now need rely on.. all that food months and months worth in peoples homes and the more they do it.. the more the most in need will go hungry.. because the food banks cannot bulk buy the essentials they need now either.. hopefully like the UK the suppliers to hotels restaurants.. start supplying the food banks. No amount of public calls from all major retailers in the UK has stopped it. Stores overnight would struggle to replace every meal people eat out.. and the panic has driven it to another level.. the limits reduce it slightly.. but then people just visit several stores. When lockdown continues and it will they then use the trip to the stores as an excuse to get out of the house... our stores have banned couples coming in together to assist social distancing... and just wait for the temper tantrums then... Our grocery store workers are classed as essential personnel now.. public will adore and praise you and the lowlifes will have a temper tantrum because they do not understand how it works.. and that you are all working ten times as hard while risking the virus for terrible pay.. when it stays busy and the companies wrap heads round what's occurring and that its long term... they will rapidly all hire more staff to keep up. Good luck ladies x
If only I had a quarter of the food i would be so happy. Lol. This made me sooo hungry and i sooo dont have anything to eat. But Ty for the video and your upbeat outlook on everything! I dont know why I find grocery shopping so fun to watch. I guess it's just cool to see how other parents feed there family. Stay safe inside and if you get a chance you should show cooking dinner for 12. I bet that's interesting.
"For my children!" Hahahaa my dad used to do that when we were little and I LOVED it hahaha so so special! Mom would feed us all the organic stuff and dad went to buy us treats 😂😂😂
Our shelves have been wiped out as well. Hopefully things will get better soon. I can’t imagine how stressful it is trying to find larger quantities of food for larger families right now. 😔
Mary Elizabeth Parker Growing up I hated drinking powder milk too. But adding a little more of the powder than the directions called for gives a richer taste. Works well when blending frozen fruits for smoothies. Also works in a pinch for Mac and cheese.
Caramel Cupcake You don’t have like it. You do have to work with what you’ve got. Can’t get enough fresh milk, use powder (my generation) or shelf-stable milk in ways that works for your family. Times will be hard for the majority of the American people for the next few years. We all will have to work with whatever we can get.
In a lot of states they are telling people to reach out to their local dairy agency if the stores limit dairy. The farmers are having to dump their milk because the stores are limiting their selling amount.
Blessed they’re having to dump milk not because of stores but because some farmers mainly source restaurants which currently are closed or not getting a ton of business right now.
You’re not alone. Since this whole virus started we’ve been buying at least 3 weeks at a time for a family of 5. My husband had some people make comments because his cart was full but we are definitely trying to stay out of the stores (or any public place) for as long as we can help it.
Our 1 week grocery shopping also means 1cart full normal buying .we are a family 5 but my in laws are visiting so 2 more people soo shopping for 7 i felt like i had to say outloud the entire time ..IM JUST FEEDING 7PEOPLE not panic buying
It’s just me and my parents and I feel like we have spent so much on groceries! But it’s not crazy quantities - it’s just that we are used to being able to run to the shop if we need to and now we have to plan more carefully. I just put through a huge order at Walmart. But we are also adding things like probiotics and making sure if we have supplies if we get sick - and that all drives the cost up. We’re doing a lot of fruit and veg too. Maybe we will renew our Sams membership.
Sarah Perrin we are upping our fruits and veggies too. I agree, we’re buying more at one time now that we are trying to prevent doing in between runs for one or 2 items. I feel a little more stressed making our menus for the next weeks. I have to double check what we have and make sure we have every ingredient. I’m also replacing everything we’re using much more diligently than before.
I love your hauls. Really frustrates me how you have to justify everything. I feel like everyone is so judgemental, maybe we all need tshirts with our situations printed on them haha
I think it depends on your area. I was watching another channel and in their local area their dairy farmers have too much milk because they also supply local restaurants who aren’t trading atm, so local stores there are begging people to buy lots of milk to support the farmers and stop food waste. Other areas would be experiencing different issues.
Call around to locally owned restaurants that are still doing take-out/deliveries. Many of them will happily order from their wholesale companies for you things like toilet paper, milk, bread, etc with no limits. It may not be as cheap as walmart, but that is an option in my local area, so it may be in yours as well.
@@shirleyfretty487 hi fellow houstonion I'm in the webster TX area. I hear you on the lockdown thought I still see many cars out in the streets. I really haven't been out only when im out of necessities. I pray this ends soon. Cause in bored at home. Stay safe hun

The thing with limiting items I feel is a good thing even if it means people have to get out into the stores a bit more. I find it rediculous that people are walking out of the store with 10 loafs of bread, 15 packages of toilet paper, 6 carton of eggs, like 10 + packages of various types of meat etc., and hoard all of it when people like my family struggle to find 1 2 lb package of beef or chicken on the shelves because people want to be greedy. And people do this couple times a week because people are freaking out. We haven't seen potatoes on the shelves for 3 weeks either. So I feel its 100%fair to put limits on stuff so that everyone can have a chance to get some, rather than a couple of people buy them out.
moonfanaras The potato shortage may be due to the early winter in Idaho where I live. We got snow in September and farmers weren’t able to get their potatoes out of the field in time so many potatoes had to be thrown out due to them freezing.
The whole idea of isolation is to not go out more then needed. If they buy 5 weeks worth and it keeps them out of the shops then they have done right. I shop fortnightly normally because that's what I can afford. I buy 10ish packs of meat etc. I'm not hoarding I'm feeding my family.
@@clarefullston5939 well unfortunately the same set of rules has to apply to Everyone no matter the circumstances. If you changed the rules for everyone then there will be nothing left for anyone else. Stocking up for 5 weeks can be excessive when people can't even get a full weeks worth at a time. Yes they have a huge family but that means more trips will be needed. Everyone is having to sacrifice their normal routine it shouldn't be any different because someone has a huge family.
The limits on items makes a lot sense with all these crazy people hoarding things. But it completely sucks when you are trying to shop for a large family.Your stores are so fully stocked compared to our stores in Ontario,California. We are a family of 10 & 8 are kids and we also get those stares from people.❤️Love watching your monthly haul videos!!
We who watch understand that this is YOUR normal but this is isn’t THE normal so people judge what they don’t understand. It’s still rude though. When I see people with a lot in their cart I ask can I come hangout with them. Lol

You need to wear a t-shirt when you go grocery shopping that says "I HAVE 10 KIDS SO BACK OFF!" LOL!!
Yes!! Lol do it
KarlaGreta yes, her kids need to be fed, but if stores use that as a reason to give then more, that means a family of four may well get nothing.
Dawn DiGianni thank you there are 7 of us and I look like a hoarder shopping getting ugly stares when I’m only buying a week worth. 😫

RvBadlands2015 real hero don’t wear capes and you mom is my shero!!!
No surprise that your siblings chose less children. They saw the work and cost of a large family. My grandma was second of thirteen. It was her job to help the others. At the family reunions, grandma had all the youngest kids. Then came the next generation, great- grands and -nieces, -nephews.
RvBadlands2015, My family is huge as well. Some of us have alot of children, some of us don't.

There is nothing to stop them from going store to store buying as much as they can, with a little sign saying they have eight kids!
Such good perspective. Blessings to you guys.

“The kids are going to enjoy this quarantine.” That is what families should strive to provide for their kids. Not fear and panic, but the family time. The laughter and a feeling of security. Completly agree
Glinda thegoodwitch I think that because of the way things are that the store trucks should have more than one trip for people. At least until this is over. I see why people buy in bulk now is because it is better to make one trip, but it is frustrating that there isn’t a whole lot to choose from.

Seadra Draggs yes, I take my husband + my parents with us. We’re a family of 7 and have struggled to find groceries due to limits and people hoarding.
My Humble Abode exactly i too have a family of 7 and good thing my kids don’t eat a lot because we are surviving off of 1 week worth of food
M Swanson I’ll try that, kids need as much fruits and veggies as I can get in them!
@Margaret Guest like that in SE Asia as well. Otherwise a lot have bidet's..so no need for TP 😉
@@lizardchase2296 apparently a lot of stores are limiting grocery pick up right now to set days so that may play a roll in availability
Love the part where He says "It's for my children" funny how they always do and say that ❤ Fathers and their children. Love you guys stay😷
I need that shirt...same
Keaux UnKut I have 6 kids as well
I love what solo said, “it can only be bad timing if we find ourselves in a bad place”. Be thankful for what we have for sure. 💓
I'm watching old hauls its funny girl don't forget your dream pantry now that your building so much fun fun fun your gonna get it now in 2024! I love it
I totally understand the limit. Everyone wants to stock up too. They want to feed their family and stay out of store too.
Everyone needs to work together.
For sure. This is why the recommendation is to buy enough only for 2 weeks so that everyone can get some.
Yeah limit of 1 is kind of ridiculous especially for a place like Sam's. At least 2. 1 gallon of milk would not last a lot of families 2 weeks.
We were supposed to stock up weeks ago. Many of us did just that. If you didn't do that, then you are adding risk to yourself, and to all of us.
The difference is they have 2 faimlies worth of people.
Limits based on people with one or two kids should not apply to people with ten kids. That's not working together, that's just ignorance.
Unfortunately many have to choose between fresh and shelf stable items. Also some have to pick what’s cheapest and will fill tummy’s and not what’s healthiest 😔 sad truth for those living at or below the poverty line.
So true 😢
You are absolutely right about that.

Luckily we have 16 hens that lay everyday. So we've been giving our neighbors free eggs. Sadly, no cows 😭😭
stefanie1333 that’s so sweet of you to do our stores have been sold out of eggs for weeks now it’s insane!
Nobody needs eggs but the hens, you should be cooking those eggs and feeding them back to the hens to help with the calcium loss from laying. And cows don't produce milk unless pregnant, so you'd have to slaughter the calf too, after taking it from its distressed mother. I'm sorry you have to deal with that. I hope things get better.
It sucks for people who can. It is not their for them often too.
I feel you Brenda, the people that can afford to buy loads at once have bought all the affordable stuff, there’s only the

What is also frustrating is that I can't even use pick up anymore because since I have to wait for to get paid to buy food and they're booked 2 weeks in advance(you have to pay when you order). So I'm causing myself more pain having to go out and than hit 3 or 4 stores just to find food for two weeks.
Try a food bank free food wipe everything down stay safe.
I'm constantly thinking the same thing, how can I stay quarantined if I have to go back to the store for something.
I freeze herbs all the time, i chop them, add a little olive oil and put them in an ice tray. Once frozen, pop in a freezer bag ☺
I genuinely think you guys are such great parents and I love watching your videos! Gotta love Solo sneaking some treats there for the kiddies!
One positive is since
I’m working remotely I have a lot more money saved.
Yes! I only need food for my boyfriend and myself and it makes it soooo hard for people with small households to get the regular stuff they need. Its ridiculous. THANKFULLY the stores are slowly stocking back up and it's easier to find stuff.
To freeze herbs put them in a food processor with some oil and put into an ice cube tray! Works great with most soft herbs.
Jamie Pietrowski Thanks
This is such a brilliant ide xx
the limiting items things makes a lot of sense some store don't get trucks of items daily so if 1 customer goes and buys all the stock of items who knows how long it'll take for the item to be back in stock for others to buy
Keyana Little exactly! We get a shipment once a week! It’s the most annoying when people clear the shelves!
I had to stop myself several times for shopping too much
At the moment, I precut all my veggies and put them in glass containers. That saves space and time.
@@loveaneriegreatlayke6086 I just take a picture of the box and upload it to the family group chat.
Dayana C, It's easy. Fridge, freezer, cupboards, drawers, closets, cellar etc. It's about prioritizing what space you have.
We are also a large family and find the limits difficult! Where we are its 1 item per family which is frustrating when your kids can go through that 1 item that lasts the average family a week in 1 day. We understand why the limits were placed but my husband jokes he is getting us shirts with our family picture on it to shop it 😂

I was thinking the same about the t-shirts. I love the new family picture at the beginning of their blog. The blue and khaki. Yes, make shirts!💚
Yes, wear the tshirts when shopping
I work at a grocery store and we limit items because we get shortages of certain items and we want everyone to at least get 1
Yeah, I had no idea I’m a “panicking hoarder” until this virus hit! Stay safe!
Exactly!!
I always buy for a month, it's just fruits and veggies/milk/eggs I go back for and my family is a family of 4 too
Snorky what country?
Your husband really loves you, he always listens and cares about anything your saying
As someone working in healthcare, you are exactly right!
Unfortunately if everyone is stocking up then there’s not enough for everyone..makes sense to limit.

Stay safe!
I was thinking the same exact thing
Sam I totally agree with you. If a family has multiple children, they should qualify for more of the limited items. My Target is limiting people to one item of eggs, milk, toilet paper, soap, disinfectant, water, napkins, etc. Unfortunately some of the toilet paper is in small packages only. I hope that her husband can get a separate cart to get their necessities!

I am from Denmark and sure am glad we don’t have that silly system with only one pr. costumer. When you have a family of 12 people, it can’t be fair to have the same limets as a family of 2 or 4.. That is crazy. There has to be a better way.
Crazy isnt it. Hope your keeping safe lovely xxx
PERFECT TIMING! I was so bored! I love your grocery hauls 💗

My mom has always told me to keep powdered milk on hand for an emergency. You could make some and mix with regular milk to stretch it. 😉
Our shelves have been wiped out as well. Hopefully things will get better soon. I can’t imagine how stressful it is trying to find larger quantities of food for larger families right now. 😔
Use powder milk for cooking, smoothies and with cereal. Save the fresh milk for drinking
My family hates powdered milk, but we enjoy boxed, shelf-stable milk. We've stocked up on those.
The farmers are having to dump their milk because the stores are limiting their selling amount.
not true
I would think milk is a non hoarding item. Short shelf life.
Mary Kruse milk can absolutely be hoarded!! You can 100% freeze milk.
You can freeze it
In Germany we have ,,TetraPack" milk.. It does not have to be in the fridge until you open it. So you can buy liters of milk in stock :)
I think it depends on your area. I was watching another channel and in their local area their dairy farmers have too much milk because they also supply local restaurants who aren’t trading atm, so local stores there are begging people to buy lots of milk to support the farmers and stop food waste. Other areas would be experiencing different issues.
Ronnie Maria, we have long life milk here in Australia too and it is a hoarded item at the moment due to it being shelf stable.
Call around to locally owned restaurants that are still doing take-out/deliveries. Many of them will happily order from their wholesale companies for you things like toilet paper, milk, bread, etc with no limits. It may not be as cheap as walmart, but that is an option in my local area, so it may be in yours as well.
It's Saturday Morning here in Houston, Texas and it's kind of cool. We are on lockdown my friends!! Please be careful out there!!!!
When solo said, it's gonna be done by then. I said. Hallelujah and Amen!
Hi Houstonian friend.
@@aelyles1 Hello. Where are you located?
@@shirleyfretty487 hi fellow houstonion I'm in the webster TX area. I hear you on the lockdown thought I still see many cars out in the streets. I really haven't been out only when im out of necessities. I pray this ends soon. Cause in bored at home. Stay safe hun
@@makeupbyclau85 probably you guys don't have the cases we have here. I know that part of the town, have a cousin living there. Be careful please, this stuff is serious. Actually, I'm in Fort Bend cty, off from Houston.....
Lol
I know I do the same thing we are especially if they got all that yummy stuff that she had in the car and I want to come home with them
