    This is another creative use of the amazing citracel . I had tried it on other glossy mags and it does not work. Like she said, NG is the mag to use. They also are the best for citrasolv transfer prints. (also on you tube) Thanks for posting your exact methods!

      It really has to do with the quality of paper and ink in Nat Geo...and only works on their feature pages, not the ad pages. I haven't done any papers in awhile...it's one of those things that you can create a lot of papers from one magazine and have a stash...time for a stash refresh! Thanks Jean for being here!🌷

    • @cerropaint
      @cerropaint  7 месяцев назад

      Hi Dawn…the Citrosolv spray usually does not work…it needs to be in the concentrated form and the spray is not concentrated enough. It’s works best if you use concentrated Citrosolv and sprinkle it onto the pages as I doin the video, rather than spray it. You will have much better results this way.🫣😉

    I tried it for the first time, transferring it to a small spray bottle. It’s winter here so I’m sure weather is a factor. I waited 45 minutes with zero results so waited another 45. Got a few interesting pages… found that the pages that stick together gave the best results. Next time I may try sprinkling (maybe use a needle tip bottle) to get those “cells”! The separation and drying is the biggest challenge… and I’ll use protective gloves too!

    • @cerropaint
      @cerropaint  2 года назад +1

      Hi Sandy…Spraying does not work very well at all. I sprinkle a heavier, wet application and let it sit for 15 minutes (ish) give or take a few minutes. Make sure to be using the concentrated Citrosolv. I get tons of cells from this without having to use any other tools. If you are getting you pages wet enough, and pull them apart when they are still wet and the ink in activated, you can manipulate the inks. Keep trying and let me know how you do!?

I'm also teaching and taking classes and have a new studio...my days are full...I barley have enough time to fit in all my social media attention and miss so much that everyone else is up to! Not good! But I really enjoy finding, using and sharing small techniques that I use in my art and hope to get back on more regularly. I have to figure out a way to show painting elements that are a little larger scale...working on it. So sweet of you to message me Ina...I hope you give this trick a try...your gonna love it! Hi Lynn...So glad you are inspired to try this cool process! Don't get discouraged if it doesn't work out the first few tries. Do the creations remain flammable when they are dry? It's also an irritant and not great for us folks allergic to limonene I believe.

    • @cerropaint
      @cerropaint  Месяц назад

      I've never thought of it being flammable...though just checked the label and it is...though I've never tested it. There are so many art products that are flammable...you just need to know what you're working with. By the time I've used it in a piece and covered it with more papers, paint and a sealer...I've never had a piece combust! As far as allergies...I would imagine people know their irritants and steer clear. I personally have not had any irritation and kinda enjoy the scent Citrosolv leave in my studio. It's the only product you get this affect with using Nat Geo pages. Thank you for watching...hope you can find a work around!🌠

      Sometimes Brenda it has something to do with the date of the Nat Geo...though I've always had luck no matter the date. Only use the feature pages as that is the better ink that works so well. Patricia...so sorry you are having trouble with this! Are you using concentrated Citrasolv (other citrus products don't work), National Geographic are the only magazines that work for me (years 1970 forward work best), sprinkle the Citrasolv don't spray it, you can start seeing results after 5 to 10 minutes...make sure not to let it dry. The citrasolv starts to loosen the inks on the feature pages almost right away...ad pages use a different ink and don't work. Let me know how you do!

      I’ve never heard of using Pinesol Jill…I’m not sure the smell alone would be safe to work with in a concentrated form. Citrasolv is the only ingredient that ever comes up with Nat Geo papers and it says it’s a natural product.
