It really makes me appreciate how good Mater dei and St John Bosco are. These two teams are amazing but refuse to schedule them .

Also MD produces Heismans ...which any player can acheive after high school. Moreover ,MD goes to other states and wins by 5 TDs where they barely beat Corona centennial (public high school) . Didn't they smoke a top GA school last season? Also the most recent Heisman is from Cajon, a public California school in San Bernardino, CA. Teams from other states don't do so well when the come to California. It doesn't matter whether it's against our public or private schools. Just facts.

Southern football is built different. One of the nation's best programs gets beat by a public school that couldn't even win the Georgia state championship last year. And not only that, they didn't even score!

I know all schools recruit but private schools have a distinct advantage in that regard, especially St. Frances because the state of Maryland isn't exactly loaded. If SFA relied on Maryland talent, they wouldn't be elite. Buford's QB is from Arizona but it was his very first game. The Buford defense was the story of the day.

Texas wont travel. Ca has to go there to put running clocks on them. Mater Dei did it to Duncanville, Bosco did it to Allen, a few years before that, Bishop Amat did it to Aledo (Aledo finished 15-1, only loss was to BA, BA didnt win their league in Ca and didnt make it out of the 1st round of the playoffs, but they put a running clock on Texas 5A champs in Aledo, Tx)
Texas hs make the South look bad I used to defend they overrated asses last year but them dudes talk more than actually doing anything. Georgia Florida and even Louisiana rep why we’re the best region for football and produce the most players with only California coming in as number 4 out of top most NFL producers.

Your note on Raiola is crazy. He had constant pressure on him all night and never panicked. Stood in the pocket and took hits while throwing dime. He had no interceptions and never tried to do too much. That’s exactly what you want out of your qb

Mater Dei tries to schedule every top team every yr. Cant control what week their open dates fall on. Plus there's travel and other costs. They try every year to get the Texas teams like North Shore, Southlake Carroll but they wont schedule them. Texas will not come to Cali, Cali has to come to them. I dont understand it, they have the money. Look at the stadiums. Nothing like that in Ca. They will make their way to Georgia, they're trying to now. I’m a die hard Texan but GA has the best HS ball from top to bottom and Fla is right there. Cali has top elite teams but no depth in the state outside MD, Cen10 and SJB
That's where you're wrong, Cali has plenty of elite teams, but MD, Bosco, Cent10 are the most known. The difference in Cali is, they All play each other, unlike Texas, Florida and other states where different divisions dont play each other. Even Northern Ca and San Diego play Southern section teams in the playoff. Teams like Lincoln (SD) Serra (Norcal) Folsom (NorCal) De La Salle (Norcal) Long Beach Poly (Socal), Mission Viejo (SoCal) Rancho Cucamonga (Socal), Sierra Canyon (SoCal), Los Alamitos, (Socal), Bishop Amat (SoCal) have excellent programs, but when playoffs come, they play each other so the "elite" teams move and play each other again in monster big games and they get more press. I'm not saying Ga doesnt have some great teams, but their "elite" teams would get beat by "elite" Ca teams all day. Its a numbers game. Ca elite teams have a larger pool to choose from. Ca population 38.9 million, Ga 3.7 million

Started in 2009 I believe. Won a couple C Conference championships. Biff Poggi brought his staff and his money over from Gilman and they did the same stuff the other schools were doing for years, recruit. the A Conference schools punked out didn't want to play them. So they been playing a national schedule every year since 2018. Gilman, McDonogh, MSJ, Loyola all refused to play St. Frances. Only school will to play them was Archbishop Spalding
