Amazing explanation. I had given up hope on youtube, many of which has incomplete or wrong solution. Your explanation is very detailed ,and covers each portion of the solution. Again amazing.

Bentup bar me 90° wala bend minus kar diye lekin straight bar me 90°wala development length ka bend kyo nahi minus kiya jata??

      Very nice question

It depends if you are bending the bars at 90° then you have to deduct ..otherwise you don't need to deduct ...now the question is if we are not deducting bends i.e if the straight bars are not bending then we need shorter Development Length here ..but here in this drawing only 1 Development was given for Bent-up bars as well as for Straight bars ... So i used this development length for both bars ...infact i noticed this also that if the straight bars are not bending then it must be 10d to 12d shorter in Development Length.

But i didn't deduct 90° bends as the straight bars seems not bendings in both plan and in section drawing. I did according to the drawing . This question was sent to me by a Civil Engineering student he wanted me to solve this question.
