Hi Mike, you must have read my mind, I was just about to look at this, and you beat me to it. lol. Great video Mike, you and your family have a great Crimbo over there, and of course a better new year. God bless mate. 😜💖
Awesome review Mike, I love all your videos, even videos I'm not particular interested in :) A suggestion: Teach us viewers how to use line outs to succesfully chain guitar effects pedals in a DAW? some pedals are analog completely or digital only or a mixture of both so the connection type may be set to line or mic to work. Reamping tutorial would also be nice!
Hi Mike, thank you for your extraordinary reviews. This series of intefaces (evo) audio are also cheaper than traditional Audient models. I ask you, in terms of exclusively audio quality, neglecting the practical use and the technical differences, what do you prefer? Do you like the sound of these new Audients Evo, or that of the Audient Series ID? Are there any substantial differences? Thank you. A greeting. Davide.
Running this threw my daw reason intro sounds really good just got mines few days ago my full first day of using happy with it running two mic set up thinking adding one more mic set up
I don't know. That knob seems a bit too flimsy and wobbly. Interface looks nice though, but I'd prefer it to be able to provide all 4 channels in USB A mode maybe with some external power supply or something. Limiting the interface to only two channels in that case is a no-no IMO.
Yeah, I think they they just can't deliver enough power through USB A. I think if they'd added the ability for an external power supply, then they could. For what its worth, the knob doesn't feel at all flimsy :)
So I was looking at this interface because I was looking for an interface for my home studio where I could play along with my bandmates (2 guitars, 1 bass) and I saw it had 4 inputs. But is the instrument input on the front the only one I'm meant to be plugging a guitar/bass into? And the rest are just for Mics? Or would I be able to have all 3 instruments running in through those inputs 1-4?
On other interfaces the XLR (Microphone) input also takes 1/4 guitar cables. I'll have to look into this, but with this Audient 8 having a separate specific guitar input it makes me wonder. Did you get one? Edit: He says the XLR's are combo's, meaning you can plug in XLR's (like microphones) or 1/4 ince jacks (guitars). This makes me wonder why there's a separate input just for guitar. He does say that input that's specifically for guitar/bass 1/4 jack overrides input 1. I'm just trying to think what that actually means.
1:30 Does that mean that we can connect headphone to slot one and connect speakers to back side channel 3 and 4 at the same time so that it will not mute?.
HELP, Mike, or anyone! My DAW is Cakewalk. Should I use WASAPI Shared, or ASIO? UPDATE: Never mind, I figured it out. WASAPI does NOT work with the EVO 8. It HAS TO BE ASIO. I tried WASAPI Shared, and ran a brief test recording. Heavens, my voice sounded like the sounds of a thunderstorm and a ghost all mixed in! It was horrible! With ASIO, I was even able to take my cell phone audio out into a split cable into inputs 3 and 4, (1/8" TRS out from the cell phone to a split cable, 1/4" TS jacks), set the EVO 8 mixer to make it a combined stereo input, and worked great. Right now I'm using 1/4" TS jacks to input into the EVO 8, but I've ordered TRS jacks as I think they'll work better; Audient does recommend TRS 1/4" input jacks. Today I had no crackles and pops, but yesterday I did hear a bit of it; perhaps switching to TRS would fix that.
Hi. I was wondering, I have an audient evo 8, and i have it hooked up via PC with studio monitors connected in "1" with TRS cables in the back, and headphones connected to "1" in the front. I have a mic hooked up to "1" on the left back and a keyboard plugged in the back on the left in "2". I tried recording, and everything was recorded fine. However, while I'm playing the keyboard and even the mic, I can't hear anything back. I even tried unplugging my headphones to see if I can hear them through my studio monitors and nothing comes out. I can't figure this out as I've always used Focusrite. Audient Evo seems a bit harder to figure out. I even tried plugging my headphones into my studio monitors and still nothing comes out. But when I record, it plays back
Okay. My windows force updated yesterday, and the audio keeps dropping out whenever I turn on cakewalk and I can only hear the audio from Cakewalk and not other software or internet browsers. Does anybody have the same problem or have the solution for this? I can only get the audio back when I restart the audio driver on my computer or turn off Cakewalk. Any help will be much appreciated. Thank you.
Excellent .. so if the one knob breaks .. it all breaks :D I'll skip that one, I like multiple knobs and less thinking in my workflow .. long press short press.... which one am I adjusting... no thank you
@therainman777 Without the software .. no brainer for me, to be honest ..I don't see the point of the knob at all if I'd be forced into using the software all the time

Great vid, Mike!
Thanks Ilan! Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to you my friend :)
@@CreativeSauce You too! Enjoy your summer.... Here in Ireland it's freezing!
This was an amazing video, great content, thank you!
I just bought the evo 8
I really like the Audient EVO 8 (judged only from the contents of your video :-)) - just one thing, though: perhaps it could have had midi in/out?
No, the EVO series has no midi combatibility.

What do you mean when you say "the instrument level 1/4 jack input overrides input 1". I'm not sure what that means exactly. What is input 1? Thanks!
I was shocked when I saw the price :o
I reckon its pretty good!
@@CreativeSauce Yeah, for this design and features it's almost suspiciously cheap... I think I'll get one cause I could use this kind of interface :D

Does the loopback work on IOS? You only mention Mac and Windows.

u mentioned DAW is different from evo 4. whats the software? still Cubase LE or higher?
can i use 1 output into studio monitors and the other output into a subwoofer? do both outputs play at the same time?
Are the inputs stereo or mono?
If I only record with one microphone am I only able to record in mono? Or is there a possibility to record stereo voice?
can this audio iterface run high ohm headphones?
