      Of course, he has the right to live in his home country with his family. But, he MUST talk about it with his wife and convince her. What we saw in this episode is Kobe, out of the blue, telling Emily that they should stay in South-West Cameroon for at least two years to allow their kids to learn about the culture. ... That was sneaky! Otherwise, he would have talked about that to her well before they went to Cameroon. ... Usually, such a change required serious discussions and planning. Kobe has no plan in that regard. It seems like he is improvising as he goes.
      "He misses home"! So what? He is a grown-up with a family here in the US to take care of. He could go back "home" on vacation from time to time because a round trip from Kansas to Cameroon is expensive.

      Come on, nothing he says makes any sense. He can be as sweet as cake, but what he wants is unreasonable.
      1 - Have you ever moved to another country? There is a lot of paperwork and visas/permits involved. That can take YEARS to approve before they can move there legally.... to stay there only 2 years? Not worth it for me.
      2 - What Emily says is true, the kids are too young and they might not remember ANYTHING. If you are lucky maybe they will remember 1 or 2 days out of those 2 years at that age.
      3 - I do not know what they do for a living, but leaving a job and trying to "get it back" after 2 years is not easy. Also, maybe it will take them a year to find a job in their new country. Moving is a huge career risk for the majority of people.
      4 - Kobe mentions that it makes financial sense. I am sorry, but it doesn't. How building a house where you are going to live for 2 years that later you are not going to use at all will work out to a better financial position? What are they going to do with all their stuff once they leave USA? (Will they repurchase everything back once they return?). Moving to a new country with a family, unless is for a long term, is never financially smart.
      5 - Moving kids is HARD. Besides the legal paperwork and the schools (which are a headache), placing them in a new environment with different people and friends can be detrimental to their development. You don't make those decisions on a whim.
      I am sorry, but Kobe doesn't give any better reason to live in Africa besides "I want to" and "it will be an 'experience' for the kids." It's a nice thought, a nice desire, and a really cute vision, but it is so unrealistic with respect to their current life.
      I'm not too fond of how Emily communicates with Kobe, but I am on her side on this one.

    I think Emily made a good point! If koby actually wants to move temporarily! to Cameroon for the childrens benefit it would make more sense to make a move like that when the children are a little bit older 6 or 7 years of age like Emily said makes more sense, personally I think koby doesn't want to leave Cameroon because it feels good being back home & hes using the children needing to learn about their culture by living in their culture as a good excuse to get Emily to approve of his idea.

    • @BurtReynolds420
      @BurtReynolds420 2 месяца назад +5

      See, and this is why it’s so hard to date an American. What he says makes sense. Save cash, the kids small can be with their dads family for the first 2-3 years. And stop it, when they turn 5 they’re coming back to America to get the better education. And when that happens, the chances of those kids seeing their family in Cameroon will be a handle full of times in their life. It’s the “American Way” to just ignore your partners culture. This proves it right here with this clip.

Marriage is about compromises. IMO, while they are little is best, and then they can come back once they become school ago and spend the summers in his country. The kids get the best of both worlds. That's a very valid point because I moved from my home country when I was 2 years old and my memory of my native culture is very weak compared to my older sister who moved at 9 years old. When kids are around 6 - 8 years old, they appreciate and remember things more. The trip would be way more impactful for them when they are more cognitively aware of their experiences especially when there is change in their normal routine, it's more exciting at that time.

Life in Cameroon is hard, better for kids but the US has better hospitals, let's agree on this one. Cameroon has 100% natural food, better air, more freedom...kids have to be at least 7 or 8, she has right but I understand him too
