Purchased a 2007 CLD 550 and noticed the courtesy door lights the running parking lights don't work 😑 noticed all of the headlight wiring covers flaking off -sent this video to the dealer they are replacing the wiring harness and headlamps and explained this is a potential fire hazard 😀 Thank you!
Hi is it at all possible to clean the Inside of the lens projector, without fully removing the headlamp assembly? Perhaps through the lamp hole/fixing! Thank you.
you can use a long cotton swab to attempt to clean the inside of the projector lens. I'm not sure you'll be able to get anything bigger through the hole. You'll want to use something that will dry clean and not leave any spots on the glass. You will also run into access limitations due to the projector cut off shield in the projector.
How did you get the lense off did you cut around the housing or??? I had to buy a new headlight and I'm trying to put the old projector into the new housing
an oven is your best bet. it will evenly heat the entire seal. Using a heat gun is difficult as you are only heating one specific area at a time and if you overheat that area you can warp the lens and/or housing.
@@gftgrill aye man thank you!! I’ve been trying to find info on what size lense for some time now thank you it’s cause I bought a Spyder headlight and the chrome part of the projector is bad doesn’t let my beam aim straight and I was gonna get a 2.5 but I know what to get now...
Assuming that a short inside of the light is your issue, then it should work. You might be able to wrap the existing wire with tape or shrink wrap and not have to do any cutting or soldering
put the bulb in first, then push the spring clip into a locked position. then the ignitor box goes on last. Put it on diagonally and twist it about 30 degrees to the right to lock it into place. Lastly push the wire connector back into the ignitor. Make sure the plastic ring inside of the ignitor is aligned for the plastic tabs on the bulb to slide into place. when you turn the ignitor, the tabs on the bulb with turn that little plastic gear, which will then push a plastic tab out of the way so that you can connect the wire connector in the ignitor.
2008 Cls550....both headlights auto level not working....my guess is a relay or fuse since both stopped auto level at the same time....Any ideas anyone? Thanks so much
it could be either of those. It could also be one of the leveling sensors that went bad thus it doesn't have the data to know where to set the lights at. Someone will have to trace through the components/wires to track down the faulty part. Is there a CEL with a code that you can reference to potentially help fast track diagnosis?
@@gftgrill I don't have a cel light. I did order the headlight autoleveling module located under the passenger seat. If that doesn't work then ì'll check the rear sensor. Thank you very much!
Let me know what you figure out plz. Mine did the exact same thing. I'm not home, but the wife is saying the lights are shining downward to the ground, she said she can barely see at highway speeds. So I'm trying to troubleshoot and diagnose from halfway across the country. And also, save money as we all know too well how expensive these cars can be. Thanks a bunch!

Hi my name is Jonathan I always see your videos, would be able to test a 2018 QX30 halogen headlight??
I have never had one of those lights. If I do get one, I will do a video on it.

I cut the lens off, but you want to bake the headlights to loosen the glue. That way you can reseal the light using new glue
No one takls about how HUGE these merc headlights usually are. Dayumn looks like it could be on a truck
How did you get the sealant out in order to separate the lens? Heat gun?

Where to repair and how to contact..
Would you know the projector lense size 2,5 or 3?...
That is an "E55" projector, which uses a 3 inch lens.

What is the trick to installing the igniter box

Hello! Can i know if i disconnect this AFS unit is it Showing on Dash panel as AFS is not working or something
yes, you should get an error about the headlight or headlight leveling being faulty
