- With the shop being busy with customer cars the 06 Miata had to wait for a bit for any progress, but now it's in the final stages of body prep and Fred will be laying down a glossy finish.

I used to have a copper red Miata. Great color pick that is going to stand out. Looks great and is going to be very nice when you get it done.

Thank you for all your detailed videos. And also Sarah next door. Im doing a body resto on a 1997 Saab 9000 Aero and these have really helped me. Im just doing all the prep myself and my word its a mammoth task on your own. But as i have learned it has to be absolutely perfect otherwise the respray will be wasted.

It’s definitely more red in person than what the camera gives off but I love it.

I was thinking the same, but he said if he cared he'd grind it all down.. and then he ground it all down. So I guess he cares? 😅

@@ArniVidar He said that if he cared, he'd grind it down to bare metal and fix the dents, but he's going to cover them up with body filler instead. Yes, he did grind it down to bare metal, but that's just how you're supposed to prep it for filler.

If Fred cared more it would only have a better repair under the paint, it would be hard to tell the difference but in the end makes a longer lasting and stronger repair. My cars don’t need that level of Fred haha.

Lovely spray job. Hey, when reassembling lovely spray job parts (or detailing), wouldn't it be useful to wear cloth gloves? White cotton gloves are cheap on amazon. No finger oil smudges.
Because the parts aren’t 100% spotless the gloves would get dirty very quick. Plus the car needs to get buffed anyways.
Looks awesome. How much would that paint job roughly go for?
A rough guess including the engine bay I would say in the $12,000 range.
