I must admit, the edited slingshot doesn't actually look half bad. I think it could have even passed as the original animation if I hadn't known any better. Still overall a pretty dumb censorship tho.

They believed one piece is something for kids and that's what destroyed their reputation, it's like trying to censor Berserk, you must just censor everything and it just becomes ridiculous

You can tell it's done by 4-Kids. As you pointed out, they're pretty poorly done. Compare to edits in Dragonball Kai (Tail covering Gohan's junk, for example) made by Toei, much better quality.
