    Absolutely love the rant he goes on 6 minutes in. Truly people can't understand the effort that goes into these events from the invisible staff and hardware in the background.
    Awesome content Doug, couldn't make it to NAB this year and loving your coverage.

    SSDs at 6Gb SATA is 550MegaBytes per second not Megabits, common mistake but very important to distinguish.

    • @djp_video
      @djp_video  2 года назад +2

      And no drives actually can write sustained at that speed either.

    • @Iamdebug
      @Iamdebug 2 года назад +2

      I have some that do, they are high end enterprise drives though. The important part is that they are SLC or MLC disks, TLC slows down considerably and QLC also never gets to interface speed since it has a small SLC buffer to absorb write slamming until the QLC can catch up.
      The history of the SSD and the throughout it can do is a fascinating one.

    Curios about the heat solution and patch points on the underside of the truck. What are the venue side comms like? Great video. Very inspiring. Lastly, the owner (who's name I have forgotten) seems like a very chill human for a tech that does real time video work....some can be a bit stress-y due to the nature of the job.

    Very cool video! I was surprised to see that among the ultra high-end equipment they are using, they pepper it with Blackmagic gear and he even mentioned Pro Presenter multiple times for graphics, which is a pretty consumerish product. Most of this is just scalability, which is great to see - you don't need the six-figure Sony cameras to record a show; just take the bones of the idea and apply them to your own budget. I'm sure you gathered some useful ideas to implement in your own truck as well! Thank you for sharing.

    • @SportFlow
      @SportFlow 2 года назад +1

      you're right, but blackmagic is only used for non-critical purposes (switching camera returns, etc...). Hyperdecks are the exception I see... Missing some EVS machines to be honest. But they did not mention sports at all, so I guess they are not into it.

    What a tour - he would have had to fetch security to get me out of there. Doug - I have one question that is not related to the truck, but noticed your lower third at the end was a little higher than what used to be conventional - now is this to accommodate subtitles? I'm trying to get inspiration as at the moment I take the top third and I don't like covering people's faces doing that. Sorry if I went off topic a bit, but I liked the idea of your graphic if it was for that.
