Wienermobile -- The Inside Story

Chicago PBS feature about The Wienermobile, Little Oscar, weiner whistles, "I wish I were an Oscar Mayer Weiner..." "My Bologna has a first name..." all that stuff. On the Chicago Tonight show.

I met the 2nd Little Oscar, the Lollipop Guild guy in the middle in I think it was 1959 in Burlingame California....
I saw the 'new' wienermobile in Central Point Oregon of all places a couple years ago. Great promotion....Simple jingles that catch on for some reason.
The little kid singing...'Cuz Oscar Meyer has a way with bologna!
Brilliant! Memorable.....What marketing!

I still have my Wienie Whistle, given to me by Little Oscar himself, when the Wienerwagon (that's what we called it) came to Vincents Market in North Sacramento back in the 50's. I was in third grade and thought it was the coolest thing ever. And yep, I can still play a mean rendition of the Oscar Mayer Wienie song on the whistle.
