@Dan, as the owner of those Loake boots I wanted to let your viewers know that I am beyond happy at the quality and craftsmanship of the resole. Moreover I got to see you actually do the work including the love and care that you lavish on your customers shoes. I’m the past I would have sent my shoes back to the Northampton factory for this work but it is now taking 50 working days for a repair; you had mine back in a fortnight. Thank you again and my next repair will be in the post to you in the not too distant future!
Hey man! I hope you don’t mind me asking, but how worn were these soles when you sent them in? To me they looked fairly new, but I exclusively use leather soles in my shoes so I have no experience. How would you say Dainite compares to leather in terms of comfort and durability?
We do not worry, we enjoyed this ASMR. The idea of ASMRs doesn't exclude talking anyway, unless one has shrieking voice of a witch that would wake up the dead 😉😆 you just do the talking in a calm soothing manner
WOW! Smashing job for sure. I was just waiting for that nail to drop to the floor. It's one of my favorite things! Ron is a good dad. I see he's got Reggie right there in the thick of it...learning. Thanks Dan and I hope your spring is going well.
Wish i knew a long time so i can sent my late father's shoe for you to fixed. He l9ves his shoes when he bought in UK and been looking for cobblers to fixed it. We bought him other shoes but he does not lijw. It's the comfort on the shoes he bought in UK that he loves it. Thank you and i enjoy watching you fixed it. 😊
I just do not what is it about your video’s. Whatever I watch them, they just kinda make me relax and calm my blood pressure. Thank you so very much bro.
I like the odd ASMR video thrown in! I almost use it as a little test to see how much I've learned from watching your videos and try to name to different parts of the shoe or guess what process come next :)
Something so calming about watching you do this sir. I’ve been sick for the past couple of weeks and lately I have just put your videos on in the background while I sleep. Very entertaining and relaxing at the same time. Congratulations on all of your hard work and success. John 3:16
Hey Dan, been watching your channel for a while now and it's my new addiction. Never knew I had such a fascination in the impressive skills of a cobbler!!! I've got a question, have you ever damaged a shoe during a repair that you couldn't fix?? Keep them coming, I'll keep watching!!♡
Man, I used to loooove my yellow brogues. With age, they would turn the most gloriois golden colour. Wore them with suits, cords and most importantly, jeans. Also had brown and black for formal occasions. Super shoe style...and 45 years later, I've still got a boot version.
Dan l watch on your regular talkie videos. Don't forget no whistling and keep the noise down. ASMR also features Angelo and his pro shoe shine video.which puts me to sleep. In a good way!! Everything is quiet no matter what's going on. Good luck with ASMR. I like the regular version 🙂.
1:55 - that scraps-collecting plate is very clever ! Detachable but fully functional, and with convenient handle.12:35 - they see him rollin', they hatin' ;)
Have you ever had a customer come in and ask you to do a repair and you've just said to them it's literally cheaper to just go buy a new pair? BTW I only found your channel B/C the Loubs bulk repair popped up and it looked interesting so I watched it and ended up binge watching your entire video collection lol. Love your work. It's nice to see someone that clearly takes great pride in their workmanship...
Not all the time because lots of customers want their shoe fixing for sentimental value even if it costs more than new ones! If they are comfy and they want to keep them.
It amazes me how many power tools and just sheer pulling apart of stuff there is in shoe repair. I always thought of it as kind of dainty and precise. But nope...freakin' belt sanders and heat guns!
Even though you're not talking, I can hear you saying: let's get sticky, and other things that you used to say Am I that addicted to watching your videos? Yeah, I am.
Cracking Restoration and Repair Look classier than when new. Owner is well and truly delighted. What Saphir product is nearest to Oxblood? Burgundy 08?
Hi, Dan. Always enjoy your channel and look forward to new videos. Great to hear you like traveling. Suggest you consider going to Costa Rica. British Airways has direct flights from London-Gatwick to the capital San Jose. (TIP: Skip the capital. Stick to beaches, and small towns in countryside.)
I know nothing about shoes really and never owned a pair worth fixing in my life besides my western boots but I enjoy these videos immensely for some reason. Need to get me a nice pair of shoes one day. Don't even know where to start.
Honestly if you're looking to start out look into something by Thursday boots. They're kind of overly popular these days but they really do have a lot of premium features for a relatively modest price
Hey Dan I have a couple questions; How long does the cork last and is there a certain amount that needs to be used to give a comfortable cushion? Also, I thought rubbing alcohol dries out leather? It's amazing how the alcohol almost removes the creases.
A few years ago I asked a local cobbler for a price for Dainite heels, he tried to give me a lecture about it's only a brand name & normal rubber heels are exactly the same. I've never been back
miss your talking, but maybe for the next ASMR you could lower the volume for just the sanding part? so it's not as shocking. I actually love having these on in the background while I'm working/studying
Did anyone else miss "Let's Get Sticky" @ around 4:45...and you know the cobbler wants to get sticky, the milkman wants to get fresh, and the garbage man wants to get trashed.....woof
Dan, I have a pair of Waldviertler shoes. It's an Austrian brand and the shoes are in the "somewhere in the middle" category in terms of niceness - they're not intended to be throwaway shoes and can be repaired, but they're not like one of the nicer English brands, like these Loakes. I think I paid €120 for them five years ago. What would you recommend in terms of care for "somewhere in the middle" shoes?
I'd love to know what type of glue is used to glue on soles. I have so many pairs of cheap sandals that just need the soles re-gluing. My shoes are way too inexpensive to justify taking to a professional repairer (even if I could find one).
@@Dan_the_cobbler I had a pair of Loake Chelsea boots re-soled by Loake, they came back minus the mid sole and the pull on tabs cut with something sharp. When I queried the mess they had made of a pair of £200 boots they said that is the job they do. Iwent to the top and complained to management and was told to select a pair of boots from an enclosed catalogue, I wanted a £90 repair and ended up with a new pair of Loake boots worth £300 and kept my original boots.
So nice, so we can hear the process, and not hear your talking hahaha just kidding dude, you are good in the talking too! xD and explaining nice and simple, thanks!
It seems like I have seen Red Dainite soles that look "redder" than these do. These look like almost a rust color which goes great with the color of these shoes btw.

Hey guys! Don't worry I'm back talking next video! For now though I couldn't let these cool red dainites go without a cheeky video!
I was literally about to say that this was far too quiet 😂

Thank you glad you noticed!

7:16 love that Robin Hood whistle, man that is a nostalgia wave.
Instantly looked it back up.
awesome how you removed the creases from the uppers. Brilliant as usual.

This is genuinely really good asmr content. Thank you!
I enjoy a nice ASMR but Dan, I enjoy hearing from you. Even like your whistle while you work and singing for the joy of it.
Glad to see yoy post Dan. Videos are awesome.

Great ASMR video and first class job Dan. My fav sound is the one made by the old stitching machine. I could watch that for hours.
Yet another great video Dan🙂
Excellent video Dan ... Thank You !
I was looking forward to a bit of cardboard with 'lets get sticky' next to the tub . well done on the ASMR and Edit👍
I enjoyed this ASMR great editing! Gracias!

Keep the vids coming in Dan! Good shit man!
A first rate job on those boots. A man who knows his craft well. When my Loakes wear down and need doing I will go to Dan aka 'Father Stitchmas'👍
Thanks for the asmr version
Nice job again, MR. Dan!

Hi Dan, hope you’re doing well mate. I know you’re super busy so it’s nice you found some time for a video.
Nice job I really enjoyed watching that thank you sir.
Welp, found a new channel to watch 😮💨👍🏽 great stuff
Love the Robin Hood whistle!
Robin Hood? Showing your age Dan!
Excellent work as always. Will deffo have a pair of Loakes winging their way to you at some point. 🤘🏻
Great job ... Love watching your channel.

Beautiful work as usual! Dan where did you learn your craft and how about showing us your best shoes?
I had no idea until now that cork also comes in paste form and can be molded like play-doh. That looks so freakin fun.
Nice Job 👍!

Top!!!! Sou fã do canal!!! Se eu fosse mais novo iria ser seu aprendiz!!! É um trabalho muito bonito e profissional!!!Parabéns!! Saúde Paz e luz!
Great video, Dan. Have you noticed an increase in dainite soles and decrease in leather soles over the past couple of years?
mmm...I could watch Dan cobble all day... Probably a good thing we are not on the same continent...!
14:57 Dan, please do a video on those felt jester shoes 😊

I love ASMR and this is a very good video, but I prefer the ones where you explain what you are doing, is that i love of your channel.
The cost seems quite reasonable considering the materials needed and custom work.
@Dan you should of signed up for the makers clash. Challenged Trenton and Heath lol. Dominated both in the ring.

Only if they are too big and your really force them in
Hi Dan, What is your opinion of Benchgrade boots? Just wondering if they are of good quality.
Those steaks in the oven at 15:42 looked deelish 😂
I'd love to know what type of glue is used to glue on soles. I have so many pairs of cheap sandals that just need the soles re-gluing. My shoes are way too inexpensive to justify taking to a professional repairer (even if I could find one).
Why did you cover the extractor on the sanding wheel? Asking for a friend.
So hot sparks don’t get sucked into the dust collector bag
Why replace the midsole? It still looked pretty good! Just wondering.
Just a proper way to do a thorough repair, it was slightly coming away from the welt too 👌
