😊 places like this really bring your own imagination to life. Just thinking how life would have been like back in the day staying up in this remote monastery. Must have been incredibly difficult.
Wow, Sumela is huge and breathtaking (probably like the climb up there). Such stunning images from centuries long past. And a wonderful bonus to have the monastery almost to yourselves 👍😃
😁 hahahaha been on a lot of very tiring but totally worth it walks this trip. Really want to tell you all about them but at the same time don't want to spoil the surprise either 😂 the 34 to 38 degree heat is most definitely a challenge.
😁👍 sumela monster is an amazing area. We're lucky to have the net holding all the rocks on the cliff since in the olden days they would have fallen straight down and if you were unlucky... well
💯 too true it was a perfect day out at a perfect location topped off by incredible food and the company of my wifey... couldn't ask for anything else 😁
Great vlog, love the sunset over Trabzon. The Sümela Monastery is spectacular, the details and the height of the ceiling for a building perched on the cliff, breathtaking! Great way to wrap up your day with a scrumptious dinner 🥘 Thanks again for sharing Separately, went to Hunua Reserve and Devonport over the weekend and staying at a farmstead AirBnB in Waitoki, beautiful country you have 🙏🏻
😊 sounds like you're having an incredible time in Auckland L H. Hunua reserve is a lovely spot as well as Devonport and Mt eden. Thanks for sharing updates of your trip with us 😁 let us know if you find any yummy food spots too. The sumela monastery was just incredible to see in person. Felt really lucky and blessed to be able to see all these amazing places in person not to mention eating all the delicious food hahaha 😋
Incredible! I had no idea the monastery existed! So happy that you got clear weather! The cheese dish sort of is like fondue except for the corn meal! It actually looks better than fondue! Thanks for sharing the vlog!
I know right! It's such a hidden gem 💎 of the world compared to some of the other cliff side monasteries. Everything really lined up for us like the monastery opening up only a few years ago, the great weather and the amount of people. It was perfect. Our guide showed us a video from a few days ago with sooo many people . So lucky 🍀
Can't wait to go to Trabzon! We are missing some rain, though we can't complain, we had rain the last 2 days. I would be just as crazy about that cheese! Yummy!!! That Hagia Sophia looks so raw and beautiful I share that list, Peter! We were literally 15 min away from Meteora and we didn't get to go, and I was so freaking sad! Yes, Lieles always says the same, they are already famous, why do you have to put them on a mountain?? What a wonderful experience being there and feeling like the place is only for yourself! We love how much Peter is loving Turkish cuisine! hahah Turkish ppl love a camera!
Noooooooo yall missed out on meteora? That's such a bummer. Hope you get the chance to go see it again in the future. It looks super cool. Pretty sad we've just come back to New Zealand missing turkey already 😢
Of course the opening clips are in and around food! But jokes aside, wow that hotel room there looks just so amazing! Really nice! Always the price comparison is crazy back into NZ dollars! Ah Peter any place is a good spot to eat! Also like a cheese burger on that! ALl the wonderful old architecture and just wow! The Monastery reminds me of the one in Greece I think we recently saw in the Gordon Ramsey, Gino and Freddo series! Yen how was those stairs? You both should be well fit by now! Haha! Yeah you really could spend all day there! Oh haha yeah the sheep on the road how just like New Zealand! Definitely looked good food! Once again another great job on this!
😁 the stairs weren't too bad it was hot but at least it didn't last too long. Lucky the monastery itself was nicely shaded. It was 100% worth finding a tour that let us enjoy the area in our own time as we thoroughly enjoyed soaking everything in rather than being rushed through a certain path. Wonderful day 😊
Is there any taxi application like Uber or Grab that you can use ? How is the taxi fee? It looks like a convenient way to move around! 😍 07:25 The sunset is just incredible! superb.... 😻
Haha I thought the same thing.. you guys are back vlogging in NZ 🐑🐑🐑😆 Food at the end looked amazing 🤤😋😋!! From all the meals you’ve shown so far, this is the one I want to try the most (both Yen’s and Peter’s - looked so tasty)🤤. How awesome you guys got great weather☀️, a private van ride, and no crowds 🙌. Really happy Peter got to see one of his top places in such great circumstances…(by the way, the Chapel in the Sky looks amazing… hope you guys get there in the near future). Looks like it was even better than you guys envisioned… Superhero training facility and all😁. Awesome vids guys! Looking forward to the next one! Safe travels….and I hope Peter dipped the kofta in the cheese off camera ;)
This trip has been crazy in the way that we've managed to see so many things that were on a life bucket list and it's only been two and a bit months 😅 really shows the diversity of coolness that is available in turkey. That particular iskander is one of the tastiest dishes we've had to date here. Have had iskander at multiple places since but nothing comes close 🤤 Looking forward to exploring Africa one day too and making the journey to Ethiopia 🇪🇹 probably be a super expensive trip though so better build up towards it 😅
@@PeterandYen No kofte dipping????😭😭😭😭😭😭😭 The iskander looked so tasty... I might have to hunt some down... So awesome you guys are seeing so many things off your bucket list...and documenting them so you can relive it over and over again many years from now... can't believe it's been over two months already...man time flies... keep the vids coming and safe safe travels!!
Wow really iskander in Thailand? That sounds like it'd be pretty rare 😯 hahaha yeah I didn't want to be the barbarian dipping the koftes in the cheese 😅 keep safe on your adventures too 🤙
Good to see that the Turkish guardians haven't deliberate destroyed the amazing Christian frescos. You can tell because the EYES are left intact. For some reason Muslim vandals always make sure to chip away at the painted eyes...
Classical Trabzon people.. Always find a way to make you laugh. That old man at the end ahahah
They were so wholesome 😊❤️🌷👋
Amazing tour ..the food and atmosphere gets me every time
😁 the smaller the town the friendlier the people. Our next two videos from safranbolu have the most friendly people we've ever met ✌️
Yes! What an amazing place to visit. I just enjoyed the whole vidoes & the food. Thks Peter & Yen for showing us around.👍

Oh wow such an amazing trip! I love the ancient and tight corridors. Absolutely killer!
😁👋 hello Jay hope you've been well. The trip to trabzon was so much fun. Imagine living there back in the day...
Wow fabulous food and fabulous exploring! The history really is breathtaking
😁✌️ two things we love the most. Thanks for watching
Very lucky to get no crowds. Totally enjoying your Turkey series as is my favourite country from when I travelled there way back when ....
So lucky.. our guide showed us some videos from a few days earlier where it was absolutely packed. Very blessed
So cute and wholesome seeing random older men randomly wave
😁 hahaha true it was a very wholesome thing to see! Even the guy right at the very end too.. also only spotted him while we were editing the video 🥰

Turkey have so much to offer....must say it's a really beautiful country n such lovely ppl.😍😍😍
😁 the friendliness of the people in the small towns especially is exceptional. Reminded us a lot of people in the small towns of New Zealand.

Yup turkey has bitaksi but it's not available everywhere 😅 taxi fee is generally acceptable around $5 - 7 usd for 10 min of driving
Loving all the old art and architecture here, reminds me a lot of al-hambra in southern Spain.
😯 ooo never heard of that area before gonna have to Google it. Thanks for the tip 👍

Hi from Florida. Thanks
Thanks for watching 👍
Dear Peter & Yen, what is the address of the Hotel you stayed at bec. i am going to visit Sumela Monastery this September. Hope you'll reply.
Hello we leave all those details in the description section of the video 😊
