I'm having a hard time accepting the fact that mutants are now deviants. Mutants used to be their own thing, like inhumans are their own thing. It's possible that the celestials are malfunctioning, and their data is corrupted.
I'm more worried about Spiderman than the rest of this train wreck. Who knows what Zeb Wells is going to do especially bringing Gwen Stacy back and seeing how he handled the relationship with MJ I don't expect anything good.
I'm probably only 1 of the 9 people who actually somewhat like the Eternals...but I sure don't like them enough to buy this comic lol. But my entire interest in the Eternals is only solely based on the fact that I'm a fan of Hyperion and Thanos. If Marvel were smart they would've used the Eternals film to highlight Thanos' backstory and his surviving family instead of just mentioning Thanos in 1 or 2 sentences and showing Thanos' brother for like 30 seconds in the post credit scene
Yeah, I got into the Eternals because of Sersi, since she was a main Avenger in the 90s when I was reading, and her whole love triangle thing going on with the Black Knight and Crystal. I read the back issues, and Ajak, Ikaris, Thena, Sprite, Makkari (who I actually saw in Quasars comic,) and Thomas twin children, Tzaboath, got me kind of drawn in. Then marvel did almost the exact same story about the Ritter twins in Heroes for hire, but redubbed them The Darkangel, and it pissed me off that it was rehashed. Then seeing Hyperion was the last Eternal of his Earth was an interesting take on Marvels version of Superman. I think most people know of them, if at all, through Thanos, but not me, it was Sersi.
@@Mr_Robotts Yeah, I had a really good Avengers comic as a kid where Sersi fought Exodus because she was the only Avenger at the time that was strong enough to take him on...that's probably the only reason that I like her lol. I believe a few versions of Hyperion are Eternals. I know the one from the Jonathan Hickman Avengers was, but I also think the Earth-712 Hyperion on the original Squadron Supreme is an Eternal too.
The Earth being a celestial egg was a thing that was introduced in the Earth X books and if I recall correctly Hickman canonized it in the 616 in his Shield run The Sinister that got kidnapped by the eternals was kidnapped in Immortal X-men 4 from Krakoa He’s the main -Krakoan- sinister
It weird they choice sinister to make a god he was never able to clone a god not to say make one unlike doctor doom, reed richard, tony stark, high evolutionary.
Jack Kirby created sympathetic Skrulls like Princess Anelle, and unique deviant anti-heroes like Kro. As for the Eternals, if they didn't care about innocent humans, would they still be heroes?
The Eternals look like the knock off action figures you'd get as a kid. 'Power Force', or whatever. When what you really wanted was one of the cool X-Men action figures. I know messing with Kirby's designs is sacrilege, but they're in serious need of an overhaul.
I think they match the characters… they aren’t exactly normal socially, a little detached. I view their dumb look as reflective of a genuine lack of self awareness
1. Doc is 100% on the Eternals coming from the scrap pile of New God's (same as Kirby's Black Panther being unused Mr. Miracle plots). 2. I never have liked Starlin's Eternals of Titans being shoehorned into Kirby's. 3. The only characters from Kirby's Eternals I've ever cared about are Sersi (AFTER she joined the Avengers) and the duo of Ransak the Reject & Karkas (because they're fuggin' AWESOME).
The idea of Earth being an "egg" for a gestating Celestial came from the Earth X, Universe X, Paradise X comics, which I really liked. It was Marvels Kingdom Come kind of comics. In that run, Mutants are like white blood cells, meant to protect the Earth from aliens and things like Galactus. They aren't translating it very well in these modern comics.
So, what I got from this video is that Sersi's main power is the ability to talk with her mouth closed. Or is that just a power that all the Eternals have now?
i want krakoa to fall, but i also don't want the mutants to lose to the eternals. if the mutants lose, i'll be done with the x-men comics for good, except for x-men red; i like the arakki.
Just prefer watching reviews of modern mainstream comics is better entertainment. Will spend time catching up on marvel masterworks and maybe so dc comics classics
I couldn’t care less about this event. I wish they didn’t drag Spiderman into this mess. And the only thing I would hope is that the mutants get wiped out.
I agree. I bought this out of curiosity. Now that I have read it, I have no plans to buy AxE. I like at the end of this video how Wes references his prior AxE video. He was certainly off the mark on that video. 😂
Everyone I know, myself included, hopes this event leads to the rebooting/renumbering of the X-titles so that they can be unceremoniously dropped without breaking a run... fingers crossed! 🤞
The narrator is the Great Machine, some kind of machine that does everything for the eternals and its like Krakoa which was why it attacked Druig and the bomb maker when they tried to blow up Krakoa. The who thing is just dull and meh I'm assuming if Krakoa comes to an end, we'll go back to the X-men heroes but people still hate, attack and try to kill mutants.
The majority of eternals left earth after they formed the uni-mind, so there are only a handful left. Inventing all these new ones sounds not only dumb, but shows they don't know the continuity
Whoever came up with the "data page" concept (Hickman? Don't know, would be interesting to find out) deserves a prominent place in the hall of comic book infamy.
I loved Hickman’s data pages….I hate that a lot of the other X writes emulate it an it end up being blah blah blah for 3 paragraphs 😂😭 I think Ewing and LaValle have done the best data dumps
You really need to read the 2021/22 eternals run for a lot of your complaints to make sense including why ikaris get so upset about the death of a human for an eternals resurrection. also the earth is a machine....
Sooooo, what comics DO you like? I'm beginning to wonder if you like comics at all. Many of your videos you speak on how sales are down for the big 2, and how Manga keeps wiping the floor with them, but then you make videos saying how everything the big 2 drops sucks. No wonder sales are down.

But why not just highlight the good ones? Blerd Without Fear and Dopespill Comics a lot more positive and optimistic when it comes to current comics
Wow, the art is ugly. So apparently the Egg thing is a Hickman invention. So we got Hickman fighting Hickman, and whoever wins, we lose... I still want the Eternals to win.
I know the Inhumans are real salty now both Eternals and X-Men are immortal and the Mutants run Mars and they have a small spot on the moon lol. Reboot the Marvel Universe "sigh" again because it's all screwed up.
What a boring art style. At this point give me back all those crazy Image guys from the early 90s with the splash pages. Comics used to be so fun. Also when Kirby created Thor, he was a God and sort of touch with humans so they created a human identity for him. They did something similar with Mar-Vell cause he was too alien by fusing him with Rick Jones. I think that's what the Eternals may need. Maybe fuse a mortal with Ikaris or whatever. Or just do stories from the past where they were involved with human civilization. Hire a Barry Windsor Smith, let him do a story where The Forgotten One was fighting big demons and monsters and deviants in the Dark Ages or during the Summerian age.
