Loved your reaction and thoughts about this masterpiece of an album man 👌 Sam, (their drummer), has produced every album of OG, starting with The Rhapsody Tapes. He is also the principle songwriter, records all of the guitar parts himself on ODDWORLD and even does all of the tech for them on tour. Dude is massively talented. This album as a whole is more than just a "Nu Metalcore" album. It pays tribute to that style without a doubt, but also includes modern "deftonesy" shoegaze elements, alt rock, post rock and hip hop, all coming together to give us this banger. Definitely AOTY in my humble opinion. I would love to see your reaction to Flip Phone Fantasy. That has a much more alt rock / punk rock approach, but the song "Junkie$" in particular is one that I believe you will enjoy. Keep up the awesome work though man, again, solid video 💪 subscribed. *Also, if you enjoy Ocean Grove, I would check out Fox Lake's "Silence & Violence" album, specifically the track "Tunnel Vision". I discovered them through Flip Phone Fantasy, was adding spotify recommendations to my playlist like in 2022 or something and SUPERSTAR sneaked into, I was listening to this song unconsciously for a while and then just realized how fxckin awesome that sounds what a vibe that is. After I checked out the Flip Phone Fantasy in full I saw this is like the best crossover of 2020s and late 2010s in music with nu metal, but they're really have their own genre which they called Oddworld Music incorporating hardcore, metalcore, grunge, shoegaze and britpop... and of course nu metal on top of all of this. So basically an updated fusion of nu, the next wave of nu at its best definition. Up in the Air Forever is leaning into a lot into britpop and pop punk so that is the most stray away from metal album for these guys, but I still enjoy that record. The more free they are with their creativity the better.
You should definitely check out their Black Label EP. It's more full into the nu metalcore direction and is generally heavier but imo its their best release.

Sounds awesome! I've gotten a lot of comments about Every Time I Die so it's about time I check them out, and right now I'm focusing only on 2024 albums for the next week or two before I have to make my end of the year videos, because of that I've had to push back any donations and recommendations for pre-2024 albums so it may be awhile but I have it on the list and I may even move it up on the list because I'm very interested in the band!
