Dr L Shankar speaks about Jayan Gopinathan

Grammy award winning legendary musician Dr L Shankar shares his experiences working with Jayan Gopinathan and producing his latest release, "Hemavathi".
"Hemavathi" is the second studio release by Jayan Gopinathan. Produced by virtuoso Dr L Shankar, and with percussions led by the legendary Dr T K Murthy, "Hemavathi" is a historical album in the field of Carnatic music, the classical music of South India.
The album features two tracks. The first is a popular krithi adorned with many rhythmic improvisations. The second track is a ragam thanam pallavi, the most advanced form of Carnatic music, and includes a thundering thani avarthanam led by the senior-most mridangist in the world, Sangeetha Kalanidhi Dr T K Murthy, and supported by his team of brilliant percussionists.
