I was in there in 1976 and I was only 16, traffic warrants, put me in the drunk tank, fell asleep on the floor and while I was asleep they moved everyone else out to cells, I was sleeping on my side facing away from the way in and next thing I know is I'm being kicked so hard in the lower back that it's scooting me across the floor and as I'm getting to my feet I'm shoved head first into the bars and as I bounced back off them I'm grabbed by my hair and yanked all around while getting punched in the face, it was a big black jailer, after all that I was sent to a cell, I was already on juveniles probation so reported it to my probation officer, they took pictures of the bruises on my back and the knot on my head from the bars, patches of hair missing and made a report, P.O. told me that they got put on paid leave, knew from then on there was no justice in Houston, Texas and never gave them the chance to do that to me again, it's like inmates say in jail all over the country, THERE'S NO JUSTICE! JUST US!

I've witnessed excessive force while I was locked up in Harris County. It took them 6 guards to beat on a little skinny 18 year old black kid who was only upset about learning that his mom died and they wanted him go keep quiet so they gathered together and rushed up and beat him senseless while he was alone in his cell
Jail commission needs to be investigated. Find out who they are and what exact relationships they have with sheriff's department. And find out if money from sheriff's dept. money went to jail commission pockets. FOLLOW THE MONEY !!!

I saw a lady asleep on the floor from whatever medication she was on. The officer lined us up to leave. She never checked the lady to see if she was on the list or if she was alive. A man was humming in the line to receive your belongings. The officer told him to shut up when he kept humming the male officer started hitting him. A female officer came around the corner and saw the officer hitting the man. She dropped her backpack and began to hit on the man. They put him back in the cell instead of releasing him.

I was in Harris County jail about 16 years ago because of an old speeding ticket I totally forgot about. I was very cooperative and respectful but they talked to me so harshly and treated me like a disgusting criminal and one of the jailers even called me a clown. I couldn't believe it. I even saw a guy get beaten and dragged out of the holding room because he wouldn't sit down. It's insane. Thankfully I was cleared but I never forgotten how I was treated.
Beautiful speech and I applaud Mr. Ben Crump for his continuing efforts in helping victims of police brutality and excessive force but we ALL know the U.S. government will not step in and change a damn thing. If so, the first would have stopped qualified immunity and re-hiring of Police Officers or sheriffs and their deputies across the Nation. Those would be the first, most important steps. I've witnessed excessive force while I was locked up in Harris County. It took them 6 guards to beat on a little skinny 18 year old black kid who was only upset about learning that his mom died and they wanted him go keep quiet so they gathered together and rushed up and beat him senseless while he was alone in his cell

I heard an Audio tape of Malcolm X speaking at Wayne State University about how it was difficult just driving thru Dearborn up Michigan Ave just to get to Inkster. I saw a lady asleep on the floor from whatever medication she was on. The officer lined us up to leave. She never checked the lady to see if she was on the list or if she was alive. A man was humming in the line to receive your belongings. The officer told him to shut up when he kept humming the male officer started hitting him. A female officer came around the corner and saw the officer hitting the man. She dropped her backpack and began to hit on the man. They put him back in the cell instead of releasing him.

we do have the justice department for these things. and they have been notified several times over the years. what we are seeing now will go nowhere. it will never change. I don't know exactly why but I do know it will not change.

I work at 810 Vermont Avenue, the VA Administration office. we were the first to put a canteen at a place that wasn't a hospital. I wish more veterans would apply for jobs at the VA hospitals, because civilians don't care about veterans and when they say, "Thank you for your service", they're full of 💩🥣🥄 I was one of the people that they took money from when George Bush gave veterans who were tax payers money. I think it was something like $1200. They took mine saying that I owed them money. That's when a young woman who works for the VA gave me the number. I called them and told them what happened and they made them pay me back the money and also erased my so called debt. I think somebody got fired too.

I was in Harris County jail about 16 years ago because of an old speeding ticket I totally forgot about. I was very cooperative and respectful but they talked to me so harshly and treated me like a disgusting criminal and one of the jailers even called me a clown. I couldn't believe it. I even saw a guy get beaten and dragged out of the holding room because he wouldn't sit down. It's insane. Thankfully I was cleared but I never forgotten how I was treated.

Were the people who perpetrated the Enron downfall deserving of long jail sentences ,even though people lost their retirement savings?
Sure people make mistakes and they should be given a second or 3rd chance. But just because a crime is nonviolent doesn't mean that we should go easy on them or look the other way. Jail; and prison are for repeat offenders, violent or nonviolent.

My loved one was in a jail in Gatesville Texas and it was no drama at all in there. Harris jail its starting to look like Rikers Island which is the worst worst jail of all time.
