Songkran is a traditional Thai festival celebrating the Thai New Year, which falls on April 13th to 15th each year. Phuket, a popular tourist destination in Thailand, also celebrates Songkran with various activities and events.
Water Splashing is the most popular activity during the festival. People, both locals and tourists, take to the streets armed with water guns, buckets, and hoses, and engage in friendly water fights to symbolize cleansing and renewal for the New Year.
