In this video I demonstrate a technique I use all the time, to convert audio samples into custom sampler instruments. In this example, I use 12th and 7th fret harmonics as source material, and create a massive synth pad in Sampler. If you'd like to work along with the tutorial, or create your own Sampler patches, download the source sample files below: we.tl/t-ghWXUOTaYm
Very awesome of you to make the source file available but it would also be nice to have the processed patch that’s ready to load as I don’t own that particular eventide reverb plug-in and I thought it sounded amazing! Btw, I can’t wait to experiment with making my own instruments out of other source material! Just waiting for my new MacBook Pro to arrive...
It’s been 6 years since I discovered your channel and started producing, now I make a living out of it and I still jump of excitement anytime you upload a new video. Pretty sure I’ve seen every single one of them so far!! You have no idea how amazing your channel is for us!! 🖤
This is by far the best demonstration in working with logic sampler to create your own basic instrument. Thanks so much for taking the time for sharing it. Love the content!
Super Awesome Video! Thank you so much Josh! I really must learn how to create my own sounds and your videos are the best to learn all about sound design in logic!
Great instructional video! There used to be a robust community for sharing ESX24 sampler instruments. Does that still exist? And are there websites you’d recommend?
This is cool too, even I use serum a lot, I can now kind of create my own instrument EMULATION from my microkorg custom presets that I already mastered too So I can try this instead of recording audio with my interface and just select those user patches instead
So many useful tips! I’m about to sample select tones in an old, cheap, Casio. It has no midi, only a 3.5mm headphone jack and a speaker. Ever sampler instrument is only ever 1 patch. As I might sample 50 of the Casio’s 100 tones, just wondering if there’s such I thing as a multi-patch-switching instrument in Logic?
So, If I want to save Different Kicks in a Sampler Track with different Pitch, How Can I see the Labels in a Piano Roll so that I can identify the root of each sample because there might be 5-6 different Kicks in same key...Is there any way that I can see Sample's original name in Piano Roll as labels?
Hello, i Have a question, hope you can help. Is there more Instruments From 3rd part. Not just loops realistically instruments like Guitars synths etc Thank You 🙏
How do you make a guitar sample that is 2 seconds long, last until as long as you like like it's a synth midi with alchemy? I can do it with quick sampler with the alternate option however I forgot how to do it with alchemy. I've seen you do it with alchemy I think. Making a note last as long as you like when it's a sample loaded into alchemy. When I do what you are doing at 7:19 it makes a slight blip noise when alternating
Hi thank you so much for this video, i would like to know, how can i make strings sampler last forever once i play? Every sound i convert in sampler has a beginning and an end., but how could i make the string note stay as long as i play it? Thanks a lot Andrea
@@-KingOfKhaos I figured out you have to click the right button and it’s gonna give you a menu just click on auto loop and from there you select how long or short the loop is according to the wave length
I sampled the 12th and 7th fret harmonics on the guitar. Harmonics like this are where you put your finger on the string, but you don’t press it down all the way. I could have just played normal notes, sure, but I wanted some other tone from the guitar.

Super video…thanks
Thanks!
Awesome video as always. Quick question - do you quantize the original recording to make sure each sample starts exactly on a downbeat?
I didn’t quantize them with flex time, but I did slice them at transients and put them on the grid.

Is there more

Very cool. I’m going to abuse the hell out of this ;)
Sounds like music from the movie 'Mandy'

I believe that is what the loop option is for, but I’m not 100% certain on that
@@-KingOfKhaos I figured out you have to click the right button and it’s gonna give you a menu just click on auto loop and from there you select how long or short the loop is according to the wave length
It was great ❤️
Can you please tell me , how did you decide the notes of the guitar to create this 🙏 I didn't get that.
I sampled the 12th and 7th fret harmonics on the guitar. Harmonics like this are where you put your finger on the string, but you don’t press it down all the way. I could have just played normal notes, sure, but I wanted some other tone from the guitar.
Does anyone know how to link the OHH to cut off when the HH is triggered?
Great question. I made a video on this topic here: ruclips.net/video/k8H3dkAAHv4/видео.htmlfeature=shared
