    @HeapLayOn Good job !
    When you tested the heater outside, you probably only tested it with 2 wires and didn't connect the protective connector to the outlet. Therefore, it worked perfectly without tripping the circuit breaker. The heating wire is not interrupted and continues to heat but the protective insulation burns through. Therefore, the circuit breaker trips, the fuse usually does not.
    My heater broke after 2 years just after end of warranty. Too bad. Miele isn't what it used to be either. An old Bosch lasted forever with the same use. Will see if the new cheap heater lasts longer.
    To test if it is the heater without a multimeter and when circuit breaker is tripping. Normally the heater begins work very early with just a little water. At my Miele with Cotton 60°C Program at 3:40 from Start. Disconect both cables from heater and cover each one. Just switch circuit breaker on if the maschine works further on witout tripping it or start from the beginning and check if it works longer then before.
    With a multimeter check the resistance between any of the heater connectors and the green/yellow cable or metal part of machine. There should be no resistance. If there is any, the heater/machine is unsafe which is tripping the circuit braker.
    The machine may work on an outlet in an other room which is not connected to a circuit breaker. But it is unsafe! Metal parts of the machine can carry life-threatening voltage!
    If your machine just doesn't heat without tripping the circuit breaker check the resistance between
    both connectors of heater it should read about 20-30 Ohms. Means the heater heats. If it is 0 Ohms it is broken.

    Hi. I just followed your video exactly and swapped out the heating element. The element was covered in calcium and had black burn marks not unlike yours. I spent £35 on a new element which probably saved me over £300. So just to say thank-you.

    Die klarste Instruktion von Allen. Am besten ist der Typ mit den Klemmscheiben auf dem Heizelement👍

    I followed your excellent video and was able to change the heating element on a WDA101. That has fixed the problem and I've just run a warm wash without tripping the circuit breaker. Thanks a million!

      I have a 101... what were the symptoms please - did you get an error code?

      @@CorradoTDI I am not a professional, so I can only tell you what I encountered. The washing machine was tripping circuit breaker. I have noticed that is happens when the heating was suppose to start. I confirmed it by running a cold wash. It didn't trip the breaker. So I removed the heating element and tried to test it, but I didn't have enough knowledge and my multimeter is rubbish. So I checked the price and decided that I can afford to loose that money and bought the new heating element. After installing it everything was working as intended without tripping the circuit breaker. That is the whole story.

      @@heaplayon Thanks for the reply and that makes perfect sense! Great to know these things can be fixed cheaply and easily!

    My old dishwasher and dryer are Miele, 20 years and going strong within one single glitch. New washing machine was barely out of warranty and it started developing clunking sounds, which seem to come from the top rear spring (no clue how to stop that). It also started moving around (feet are set right and I checked with a level, it's all level), and now barely 7 years in and the heating element is acting up. They really don't make them like they used. Going to measure resistance of the element tomorrow and swap it out if necessary. Inside is clean, at least that. My old Hotpoint went 18 years with all its original parts ... starting to regret it

      As a follow-up .. opened it all up, checked condition of the resistance through the side hole (removing the plug you show in your video) ... it was fine, not blackened. It measured 24ohm so in working condition, nothing between ground and the two plugs on the resistance either. Pulled out the temp sensor and cleaned it, it had some calcium deposited on it. Also saw that on some other Miele units F20 might refer to drain filter blockage so checked that - other than a slight film of fiber deposit on the side walls it all seemed OK though. Also cleaned inside the rubber of the door while it was open to prevent any lint moving from there to the drain filter. Checked no kinks in the drainage and water supply hoses. It's running now on the 40°C programme and will try a second load at 60°C after that. Grand thing of the WDB020 manual ... no mention of the F20 error. You have to go to their website and that just says "heating, ask for technical intervention" ... sure

    Hi my machine tripped out everything it’s in a hot wash but runs a full cycle on a cold wash would this indicate a faulty element ?
    Many thanks
