How to make accordion sketchbooks with encaustic monoprint covers

  • Do you love Encaustic monoprinting? If you're like me you have a lot of extra prints hanging around. Put them to good use as covers on custom-crafted sketchbooks.
    In this video I'll show you how I make a small accordion-fold sketchbook using watercolor paper, cardboard and my encaustic monoprints as fun covers that make them look amazing and professional.

    You'll need:
    One sheet of paper- I use 11x15" watercolor to create a 3.5" x 5" book
    Ruler
    Pencil
    Matte knife or Xacto blade
    PVA Glue
    Matte Board, cardboard or Binding board
    Encaustiflex, paper, or natural fabrics
    Encaustic wax paint
    Encaustic medium
    Pancake griddle or hot plate
