    The lyrics are called ‘placeholder’ lyrics apparently. They don’t necessarily make any sense, or are used in the final version, but are used to present the basic melody and structure of the song. This version is beautiful.

    "I don't think about you , save me". Rather than talking about/to someone else, he could be talking to the aspects of himself that he has subsumed for so long. In effect, asking his inner self to 'Save Him'; because he no longer knows how to do so. I think the whole song is a conversation with himself, the parts he hasn't acknowledged for so long. The parts he needs to recognize, and accept, to be whole. And at peace with himself.💜

    The last bit of the lyric video is how the channel gets the copyright by adding something to the end of the song
    Just because he doesn't have writing credits doesn't mean he didn't have any input into the song and since it is such a big part of the bu it was a collaborative effort of their production team
    Demo versions are basically the rough draft of a song

    Roscoe! From my understanding from the guys mouths, the demos are the originals as first written. RM has explained in many Vlives that songs are tweaked or changed completely by the writing/production team to get the final version we hear. He did so with Dimple and others I can't recall at this moment.🙂

      Yeah, I remember Suga also saying that their music-making process was like a music camp; and there was a clip of the members saying how hard they all worked on a song and their version was not chosen or it was tweaked and that V's melody was chosen but he had the least lines. They went on in this clip to laugh about he would still get ... copyright credits (?). I believe the Demo versions are what they submitted but wasn't the chosen lyrics, melody, beat, ad lib, etc.

    The demos are very much demos :)
    In this case the lyrics seems to be placeholder in order to simply convey the general feel and flow of the song that Jin was going for(since this is the original melody he made based on the beat he received), this melody was later switched out with the final version’s a day or so before he was supposed to go in for the real recording if I remember correctly.
    ….Which makes me super curious how well the lyrics of the final version matches with this melody, if at all.

    • @minkeytalk
      @minkeytalk 2 года назад +1

      The lyrics of the final version were made to match the BU. It was the final or answer to the Love Yourself albums. The demo talks about someone else, save me and your my lullaby where as the final version talks about loving yourself.

    • @Markatta
      @Markatta 2 года назад +1

      @@minkeytalk The reason I'm mentioning the lyrics of the final version is that they were intending to use this melody(and the melody is the point of this demo) for a long time before switching it out, so there gotta be lyrics written for this version more in line with the message of the Epiphany we know, because that was always the end goal of the LY series and this song in particular.

      @@Markatta That could be a nice little project for the Big Hit production team while Jin is in the military - polish up the lyrics intended for the demo melody and have him record it when he gets back as Epiphany Pt.2. That could go on his solo album !

  • @Samantha122588
    @Samantha122588 2 года назад +8

    From my understanding (and I could be completely wrong here correct me if I am) this demo version was what jin created and wrote but then they decided to go in a different direction which is the final song we have today. And I believe that's the case with all the demos. They try out different melodies and lyrics before it gets finalized and they pick what best suits the direction of that current album. That's my understanding

  • @adelate
    @adelate 2 года назад +5

    They’re original demos (Yoongi mentioned having had to dig through several old laptops to find his demo for Seesaw haha), so yes, the demo lyrics were written first. But as I understand the lyrics aren’t meant to be final lyrics but rather placeholders to give a little direction for the demo.

  • @karlafm24
    @karlafm24 2 года назад +4

    They all usually make demos of each song, so that's maybe 7 different versions that they choose 1 from and polish them. The boys have mentioned this in various vlives.

    • @tammarabg8174
      @tammarabg8174 2 года назад

      There are usually not 7 versions. They give the song to the members who either want to write something or who they think would be a good fit. Members (including Adora and Bang PD) will submit their versions. Suga said it is like a music camp and a friendly competition to write the best version to be picked.
      Also they (writers) will have a melody, but a vague idea of lyrics, so members will just make something up (Suga has said he will say the line he has and than go blah blah blah for the rest of it).

    With demos you don't really need the lyrics to make sense for the song...it's the melody, the syllables, the flow. One commenter said it well. The lyrics here are placeholders.

  • @willowOT7
    @willowOT7 2 года назад +5

    these songs on cd 3 were the original demos way back when they were writing the original songs, as a group they would submit songs as a pool and then choose the best from the pool. these were some that weren't chosen as the final prroduct but ones they wanted to share with us ARMY, thats why they are only on CD 3 and not on streaming sites like spotify ect.
    Also the lyrics sometimes don't make sense as they used words that sounded good to go along with the melody as place holders. Before they released Proof they had mini interviews about some of the things released on Proof and also they commented about this on some Vlives and weverse posts

    In my understanding BTS often writes lyrics/songs each individually and then they bring things together and take parts from them etc and turn them into other songs...sometimes they are similar and sometimes they are very different. The Demos are the songs they originally wrote before they started changing them and taking parts etc and putting them together into something new. It has been interesting listening to BTS talk about how they write music etc. Often knowing the theme they are writing for and sometimes having some of the music and then writing for it and mixing their versions together. I like both versions of Epiphany....they are really quite different but I love them both.

      I think all the guys English is better than we realize. I think it's better than they realize - they just lack confidence in their own skills. Which is ironic really. They just need more practice in a relaxed setting to gain that confidence. But I will admit, I didn't expect to hear a full English song from Jin. It's great. And I feel strangely proud of him👍💜

    I saw a video and I don't remember if it's Vlive or something else but in it Jin explained that he wrote a demo song but Bang PD rejected it. The producer (Bang?) then gave Jin the beat and Jin went away and wrote several songs (draft melodies). He said about 20+ of them were "trashes" that he discarded and he brought about 6 or 7 to Bang PD, who selected the one that Jin had doubts about and was thinking of discarding as well. He said they worked on this song for 2 (?) weeks until it was polished to the final recorded version. So really the final album version is a totally different song from the demo. If you think of the demos as like the first draft of a manuscript, that might help. I know the lyrics of the demo version don't make much sense but they're not supposed to. In Suga's show, he called them "fake lyrics". I also get your comment about "a piano and Jin". I have my double shot of Jin (mv and live) every day since "The Astronaut" dropped.

  • @pamtan1711
    @pamtan1711 2 года назад +1

    To understand what demos are for the guys, you must first understand the song creation process. Basically, it can happen in two ways, or at least that's what I know, the most common one is that they have a topic or keyword which they use to create lyrics, in this case probably the keyword was "epiphany". The producer chooses from a set of beats or melodies the music, he gives it to all the members and whoever comes with the most suitable one "wins". The other case is the other way around, where they have the whole song already constructed but need the producer's final touch, which is probably how they work with their solo projects. Jin's demo is beautiful, he didn't try to come up with the lyrics but with the melody, usually, the vocal line asks for help from RM or songwriters to put into lyrics their profound thoughts.

    with it being a demo, idk if these would have been the final lyrics if this had been given the go ahead to be the official version. Meaning, if this version had continued to be made into the official song, Jin would have had writing credits. I believe on the demo version on the new album, he does. So, I think we can take away some things he wanted to say here, its just not polished.
