- The head of New York City’s Fire Department, Laura Kavanagh, is stepping down as Fire Commissioner. She announced her resignation on Saturday.
I’m not quite sure how this woman achieved that position but I truly believe we need somebody that has 30 years on the job that knows the ins and outs from being a fireman and worked there way up from being a probe . Please don’t make it political and hire some one with no knowledge.
NYFD has a lot of excellent chiefs.

@georgepierson4920 you're a comedian correct?? NOBODY...in the FDNY demanded any woman,.. there isn't any qualified. A Judge, said hire them, none passed a physical, RELATED , to the job. 1977 test #3040..but a judge said hire them..that was the beginning of the end. Thats when qualified people standars went out the window
