I couldn’t believe they would kill the best character so early when I was watching this, but once I recovered enough emotionally to form logical thoughts I believe they will bring him back maybe by the end of episode 8 or 9. Since it was established that time travel is possible, they can probably get him back that way. This is just to give little cato some spotlight and maybe explore he and Gary’s shared experience in the loss of their fathers.
That would be such a cop out please no. The only way I want avocato coming back is if they do the universe reset thing like in the pilot (which will probably be the season finale)

And to add it all together there are possibly 5 season for the show.......... maybe. So a high chance that the pilot won't be the end but there is a theory that it's the beginning of the series as it states to be CANON and it is the PILOT EPISODE not the SEASON FINALE. but good theory tho.

So how could Final Space kill off a character that I only knew for six episodes and make me bawl my eyes out!? I swear, this series is the most emotional rollercoaster I've ever been on and I can't wait for season 2

In a matter of seconds, Avocato was gone, with no time for goodbyes from his friends and no warning for the audience. The fact that he was a well-established character, with a name and a backstory, changed nothing for him. And that's just as amazing as it is gut-wrenching.

This scene broke me when I first saw it. This scene breaks me every time I see it. It's nothing less than a cinematic masterpiece. The voice acting, the animation sequence and the music. It's without a doubt one of the best scenes ever produced for TV in my opinion.

This moment in Season 1 made Final Space become one of my favorite shows that I could watch 100 times over again and still enjoy it. The animations, the soundtracks, the character development, the easy to follow story all make, it a good but what makes it a great show in my opinion is how Olan Rogers is not scared to kill off main characters that the fans enjoy. When I saw his death for the first time I finally realized that the show was going to be darker than the trailers that promotes it and it was going to subvert everyone’s expectations until the end.
I bawled like a baby when it happened. When I saw the bomb go on his son, I was had emotions of anger and aggravation. Then, when his own father sacrificed himself, I had emotions of extreme shock and depressive sadness. I kept crying. How can I be so emotionally attached to a tv show? That, is why this show is so good!

I love how gary is there with little cato during the credits. It adds to the aura of grief, the main focus of grief being little cato, but it exposes the idea of gary being 2nd to being the most hurt by avacatos death. It also shows how gary is following avacatos final order, to "take care of his boy."
What the creator meant when he said that is that Avocato’s death (or anything that happened to any character) will carry through the continuity of the episodes. So in Family Guy for instance, several of the characters have died in one episode, then come back just fine in the next. No continuity because the stories don’t intertwine. That won’t happen here. Each episode continues the story. In Final Space each episode continues from the last one, and the story stays in continuity. It doesn’t preclude the idea of changing time, or having the Lord Commander capture him and keep him alive. Only that he won’t randomly be back in the next episode like nothing ever happened.
This show was amazing. I never felt so much for this scene. It was shocking and badass at the same time. One second you feel happy, the next, it's just ripped away. I didn't think this show got off to the strongest start, but it's definitely got some huge surprises in store. We have got to make sure this show gets bigger!

When I saw this I cried. They take my favorite character away. But, I have learned to accept that everything is alright. And to be honest little cato is my second favorite character so it checks out. I very rarely cry when watching shows or movies. Even when I was a lot younger, the most you’d get out of me was a tear (guardians of the galaxy vol 3 got me at the age I am now). I must’ve sobbed my eyes out for 2 hours after this scene.
At the beginning of the episode, which takes place in the future, Gary says something about Avocato showing up at the last minute to save him (which Q says won't happen). So it makes me think that he somehow "survives" the whole ordeal.

Saving avacato could mean the deaths of everyone else aboard the galaxy one. Time travel is a tricky subject and ime paradoxes can disrupt the flow of time. Many bad changes could come from avacato being saved via time travel.

When there is danger, a parent does not think, "I have to get this danger away from us." No, a parent DOES think, "I need to get this danger away from my child." Avocato wasn't thinking at all about his own safety; his whole focus was on protecting his son and the safest thing he could think of was to physically carry the danger away from his son. Any parent would have done the same.

When I saw this I cried. They take my favorite character away. But, I have learned to accept that everything is alright. And to be honest little cato is my second favorite character so it checks out. And now seeing time travel is a possibility then maybe he will come back because he is still on the intro of Final Space so olan actually might bring him back and I'll have both of my favorite characters. Side by side. Also I also like Gary. That guy is hilarious. Anyway I'm sorry little cato but shit happens. Sorry for sounding harsh and sorry this is long. I very rarely cry when watching shows or movies. Even when I was a lot younger, the most you’d get out of me was a tear (guardians of the galaxy vol 3 got me at the age I am now). I must’ve sobbed my eyes out for 2 hours after this scene.
The way this show does the deaths of the characters is amazingly well executed and unexpected from a “comedy” cartoon
At the beginning of the episode, which takes place in the future, Gary says something about Avocato showing up at the last minute to save him (which Q says won't happen). So it makes me think that he somehow "survives" the whole ordeal.
Well, at least we have little Cato to take his place in the show. POOR AVOCADO!!! HE JUST GOT HIS FRICKIN SON BACK!!!! I somehow have the feeling that this is not the last we’ll be seeing of him, despite how dead he became. (That’s so dead, his chest was turned inside out!)
I guess they could travel back in time, like Quinn from the future did, to change the situation.

Saving avacato could mean the deaths of everyone else aboard the galaxy one. Time travel is a tricky subject and ime paradoxes can disrupt the flow of time. Many bad changes could come from avacato being saved via time travel.

Everyone's saying he could have just thrown it. Listen... I agree that he COULD have just thrown it BUT... Parents love their children more than anything in the whole universe. When there is danger, a parent does not think, "I have to get this danger away from us." No, a parent DOES think, "I need to get this danger away from my child." Avocato wasn't thinking at all about his own safety; his whole focus was on protecting his son and the safest thing he could think of was to physically carry the danger away from his son. Any parent would have done the same.
He knew the blast radius and trew his body on it to save everyone and the ship
