Doing a 9”89 after that incredible amount of nervous energy lost, it’s outstanding. Of course you can clearly see why he was the fastest ever in the 60 m. He was already ahead, then even meters from others after the start.
It took over 10 minutes to run a race in under 10 seconds !!! Can you imagine if this race was run in 2014.... there would only be 2 runners left !!!! The rest disqualified
Totally. I remember when they brought it in I thought ‘it’ll never work’. I was completely wrong - the amount of gamesmanship it just wiped out overnight was great. Now I watch these races and think ‘how did they get away with this for so long?!’
In this situation there is no false start in the first 2 attempts, the starter is simply saying “Al Tempo” which means “Stand Up please” and is not related to any false starts but because of noise from public. The you have 2 false starts, and finally they got going, it’s part of the sport
I think that's protecting a potential injury or was perhaps, strained. No way that was typical and consistent. Sidenote, this race shared 4 training mates with the now defunct, HSI stable. Mo Greene, Ato Boldon, Bernard Williams, Jon Drummond. Jon Drummond and Ato were also tremendous starters back in the day, especially Drummond!!
@@lerebele1Leonard Scott was an exceptional starter and 60m man, also. JD was consistently the best starter but he didn't have great nerves when it came to the big dance.
@@matthewcurlee5181would love to see a definitive list of the best starters. One of the best and bravest was actually in this video, Kim Collins. That guy tried to hold on for dear life in his races!
whatever shit they are taking nowadays has to be more effective than Green's because none of the current dogs packs such insane amount of muscle like Green did

@@gregmac3513 Just watch videos in 1995-2004 when they ran 100 mts and their falses starts, the rule of the "one false start" began due to them, just watch the good Will games in 1998 against Donovan Bailey, almost 10 minutes delaying the race with false starts... Amazing sprinters but what a clowns...

And an incredible amount of steroid as well
I was a fan of Greene. I liked the attitude before a race and when interviewed, it showed a class athlete

His initial drive in the first 3 steps was insane
Bernard Williams 😅 What a character of the Sport he was 👏🏻👏🏻
Good classic uploads sir.👏
The race starts at 10:38
I'm so glad that they changed the rules for false starts.

Was just thinking this in my head😂
The new rule is even worse. They should have figured out something else. You cannot lose years of preparation because of 1 false start.

Bernard Williams cracks me up.
The movements of Maurice Greene before the race 😂😂.
I like those old classic
Man. I'm so glad that the rules changed. This is painful to watch.
Maurice Greene and LL Cool J could be brothers or cousins.
Bernard williams has a very unique style. Wonder if its design or nature as one leg reaches and the other stays slightly back.
That’s some detailed watching lol

👉Very good that they changed the nervous rules.😅😢
Maurice Green, got away with doping fr
Avec ce temps tu fini bon dernier maintenant 😅
wow, half of the sprinters had a way better start. You can see the other guys sorta stuck there.
Asahara great!
The only regret is that there is no AR, although 1997 Lausanne tied this record.
戦略的なフライングが許容されていた時代。それにしても錚々たるメンバーだ

Back in those days ppl escape doping or subatance known nw were not known before

They should've DQ'd Drummond 🤷🏿♂️😂😂😂😂gota be all extra to try to sneak a win
Is a good thing they change to 1 false start because sprinters use to do it purposely so sicken to watch
