Thank you so much for going out to Cali to interview the founder of Luna! I've been interested in them since I found out they distribute Sur Ron. To me, Luna is the biggest name in ebikes, other than maybe Rad, and I never see channels talking about them or reviewing their bikes. Glad to learn what the X2 bike is. I want an eMTB but was thinking I'd need to buy a $3200 Salsa bike and motor/battery. The X2 in the end is better, and no engineering work done by me! Now I know what to save up for. The shocks are 160mm, which is real MTB spec.

We are so glad you dig this. We also think Luna gets too little attention. They sell some fantastic bikes.
X2 is incredible. We now have one. Right now we have too many videos in production for us to do it justice but we will produce a full review when we can give it the attention it deserves. That will be a special review.

Luna's success in the e bike biz reminds me of the way the best early hang glider and then ultralight aircraft businesses came about: they were founded by people who were first and foremost avid fliers, that had to make for themselves what they felt was the best aircraft for their needs. And then....., other people asked them if they could buy one, and before they knew it they were in business! When you deal with Luna, you are not dealing with a faceless corporation, but rabid e bike geeks who are learning how to run a business, making it up as they go along, and getting better at it by the day, as this video illustrates.

Wowza, Laycee. You're sure making the most of this CA trip. Since you're in El Segundo, I hope you stop by to say 'hi' to Chelsea. I'm jealous! Y'know, the more I see of your work, your reviews, your interviews, the more I realize… I'm out of my league here… and will never catch up. Indeed, my pitiful Bafang conversion now makes me blush. Kudos to you! So glad you're on this planet to help enlighten us.

@@Yanquetino editing, color work, and publishing for a tour like the one at EBC takes us about 20 hours. Bike reviews take slightly less time to edit but more time to build and shoot. We publish most segments we about a month after production. Occasionally we bump a project to the front of the line. Usually that would be event coverage or content with an expiration date.

@@MissGoElectric oh, yeah they make pretty high end ebikes. Their hydra is pretty similar to Lunas high end emtbs. Bafang motor, throttle, 40mph, carbon fiber, full suspension, wattwagons is based in the US as well which is nice. Just purchased one of their bikes so we shall see if it lives up to my expectations of a 6k electric bike 😬.

The X2 is their crowning achievement. During the pandemic when prices were sky high the X2 offered world class value for performance. I have the Ludi and it’s an absolute trail bully. The only thing Luna need to do now is to improve the low cadence torque in the firmware. I can’t wait for the X3.

OK, the X2 is a really interesting bike. I have to wonder if it could be tuned to be legal as a category one bike for competition sake. If they could do that, I believe it would make that a game changer. But more importantly, what is the story on the dinosaur outside. We really need more info on that. Thanks for the video, I really enjoyed it as it is nice to put a face to a company that I have purchased from before.

Unless you live in California close to the shop, DO NOT BUY ONE. Mine has been broke more than it has been working and there's no way to get it repaired. I took the battery out and put it back in and the bike literally caught on fire. Now there's nothing I can do to get it working again. I have even been willing to drive 6 1/2 hours to the shop and have them work on it but it would still take them several days and cost me several hundred dollars. Hey mysterious

More than three years ago we paid for our first Luna product. It was the Surron XX. We also purchased the belt kit and we did need customer support. They answered the phone immediately and helped us with answers. At that time, we were a new channel with no following and no reviews. The XX was one of our first.

Since then we have added a Luna X2 eMTB. It appears in this video:

That works out to about $8000 in Luna products and thousands of miles ridden. Not the answer you were hoping for? We have lots of Luna experience along with about 100 other eBikes.
