Love the reviews of some of the wicked dolls. A lot of the dress details are printed on for Nessarose is because Mattel had to sculpt the wheelchair for her so I’d love to see them make another doll with just a different dress for her where they could spend the money just the new outfit since the wheelchair is now already available for her.

It’s actually really nice that the feet are so similar to g3 MonsterHigh shoes. Those feet should be standard size now, Barbie has ridiculously tiny feet. Can we all just say yay for stands!🎉,and tell Mattel that they need all their articulated dolls!

I do like that the other dolls have articulation - that is why I haven't got the singing ones yet. the uniform ones though look great and I think theyre articulated!!! but yes, the doll are pretty expensive. especially if you're a student!
Hi Grant!! The Wicked dolls are so beautiful. I ordered the 3 ballroom dolls and getting them on Monday so very excited. And I finally got my Rita Ora queen of hearts doll yesterday!!! I could be wrong, but I believe the musical does feature the iconic Ruby slippers, but in Act Two. Elphaba uses her powers and I believe the silver slippers become red hot, which causes Nessarose the ability to walk. 6:44
You're right! Nessa is feeling like Elphaba is flying around Oz and never using her powers to help her. Elphaba does a spell onto her shoes which gives Nessa the ability to stand and the shoes go red and hot. On stage they're silver and light is used to make them shine red ❤️
I love nesarose. Not many characters are shown disabled. Being a wheelchair user, i want her. I love the outfits as well. The hat needs like a small pin or strap. All the hair is absolutely gorgeous. Glinda's bright colors are beautiful The green skin tone is giving me bright shrek green rather than a forrest green

I honestly LOVE Elfaba's dresses, and I really like the pop of purple in her color scheme. It really reminds me of the Storm Twins' color scheme, and I feel like the black and purple on the dresses would look absolutely goregeous on them! I may have to get at least Elfaba's Ozdust Ball doll just for her clothes alone.🖤💜

I grew up reading all of the Wizard of OZ books, watching all Wizard of OZ media and of course I love the Wicked musical. I'm looking forward to the movie! The dolls look pretty good for the line imo. If I wasn't terrified of dolls due to paranormal experiences I've had with them I'd definitely get them as a long time Wizard Of Oz/ Wicked fan.

@@dolls2remember The books are actually awesome, even for adult readers. They're some of my all time favorite books besides The Chronicles Of Narnia (in the genre of going to an alternate world). I wouldn't mind some OZ action figures, just can't do the doll thing. Especially after owning a haunted doll and having some experiences with other haunted dolls. I do appreciate the art and workmanship that goes into making dolls though, as I'm an artist myself. Keep up the good work with your channel.

I’m sorry the singing dolls are my favorite. Nissan rose is very nice as well. I have everything but the 2 deluxe dolls. I would have preferred mtm. Not sure if they are worth the extra money for 11 points of articulation.
Fun fact: she’s blue on Broadway because TimeWarner would NOT let her be presented on stage in a big pink gown. It’s the same reason the shoes on broadway were never ruby slippers even though they originally wanted it that way. But they both individually would have been a gargantuan fee like between $25,000.00 and $50,000.00 per performance to use those colors cuz “those are the wizard of Oz film and you can’t just do it that way” I think elphaba only got away with the green skin because of the shade they use and because it’s based on a different book technically she’s from wicked and not the wizard of Oz. But ultimately they couldn’t keep them from painting her green but they were gonna be damned if they let Glinda wear a pink gown and nessa wear ruby slippers

@@dolls2remember it’s also why Glinda has the “gogo” joke in the end of the show even saying “Toto” was gonna be too expensive and they were like “we can spin this” but yea the Oz film is such a heavily protected piece of cinema that it’s virtually impossible to get away with any kind of unapproved reference. And because the 39 movie will be in the public domain in 2035 they’re gonna milk this last decade for all it’s worth!!!!
Look up a comic book series called Steam Engines of Oz. The first Elpheba's dress and hat remind me of stuff from them. That many raw edges on a deluxe doll is uncool. The other dresses look more deluxe than the deluxe dresses do.
As an adult doll collector, do we think kids will actually want these dolls, or are they mostly just going to be bought by adult collectors. I wonder about that with most live action movie dolls. Just curious.
I’m curious too- I wonder how young of an audience this movie will reach. I’m seeing lots of us adult collectors getting them. So we shall see if kids too!!
@@dolls2remember In the musical, a red light is shone on the shoes when Elphaba enchants them to make it look like they were turned red through the enchantment. If you look at productions from Brazil and Germany, they used the ruby slippers instead of the silver ones. I don’t know if it’s because of how copyright laws effect different countries or maybe WB just doesn’t care. I do know that most productions are afraid to use them because of royalty fees. Disney had the pay MGM royalty fees when they made, “Return to Oz”, which at the time was a box office failure.

never noticed it until it was suddenly all over the news. very very awful mistake. im glad Mattel acted fast once it was discovered and pulled all the dolls off the shelves.
I know it's your display and your dolls, but seeing random assorted dolls just mixed together on the shelves behind you is triggering my fight or flight response. You make great videos, though.
I bought Glinda for my daughter, honestly I wish Mattel would stop trying to make dolls look like the actors, just use Barbie face molds, unpopular opinion, I don’t think these dolls have are very pretty.

The ‘deluxe’ dolls being worse quality than first wave monster high during the 2000s says a lot about the standards for dolls these days.

@@dolls2remember The books are actually awesome, even for adult readers. They're some of my all time favorite books besides The Chronicles Of Narnia (in the genre of going to an alternate world). I wouldn't mind some OZ action figures, just can't do the doll thing. Especially after owning a haunted doll and having some experiences with other haunted dolls. I do appreciate the art and workmanship that goes into making dolls though, as I'm an artist myself. Keep up the good work with your channel.

I’m sorry the singing dolls are my favorite. Nissan rose is very nice as well. I have everything but the 2 deluxe dolls. I would have preferred mtm. Not sure if they are worth the extra money for 11 points of articulation.

Fun fact: she’s blue on Broadway because TimeWarner would NOT let her be presented on stage in a big pink gown. It’s the same reason the shoes on broadway were never ruby slippers even though they originally wanted it that way. But they both individually would have been a gargantuan fee like between $25,000.00 and $50,000.00 per performance to use those colors cuz “those are the wizard of Oz film and you can’t just do it that way” I think elphaba only got away with the green skin because of the shade they use and because it’s based on a different book technically she’s from wicked and not the wizard of Oz. But ultimately they couldn’t keep them from painting her green but they were gonna be damned if they let Glinda wear a pink gown and nessa wear ruby slippers

And because the 39 movie will be in the public domain in 2035 they’re gonna milk this last decade for all it’s worth!!!!

That many raw edges on a deluxe doll is uncool. The other dresses look more deluxe than the deluxe dresses do.

@@dolls2remember In the musical, a red light is shone on the shoes when Elphaba enchants them to make it look like they were turned red through the enchantment. If you look at productions from Brazil and Germany, they used the ruby slippers instead of the silver ones. I don’t know if it’s because of how copyright laws effect different countries or maybe WB just doesn’t care. I do know that most productions are afraid to use them because of royalty fees. Disney had the pay MGM royalty fees when they made, “Return to Oz”, which at the time was a box office failure.
