@@joeesparks7 She writes layers upon layers into her music. The more you know, the more you see. You might try Bad Blood featuring Kendrick Lamar to see what Drake is referring too. That’s a fun video to watch. There are so many cameos, and Kendrick has a couple features. My favorite video is Ready For It. All to Well has some great word play and Taylor directed the video herself. Look What You Made Me Do is a response to Kanye and Kim (and everybody else) dissing her.
@@joeesparks7 As an example of what I mean by the multiple meanings she puts into her songs you could look at Fortnight featuring Post Malone.
1. Basic meaning- two people who connected for a short time, then moved on to other partners and are now miserable because of it. The video suggests he didn’t know she cared and when he finds out, it changes.
2. For the swifties- there are so many little symbols within the video and song referring to other things, like she’s holding a book titled US, referring back to a past hit called the story of us. This could point to #3.
3. Past relationships- this is supposedly about a past relationship she had. I’m not into that drama and don’t follow it, but a lot of people are.
4. This is the most amazing meaning to me that no one is talking about- she’s bringing into the public consciousness with her referrals in this song and another on the album the fact that successful women historically have been and still to this day are controlled with extreme methods (for example Brittney Spears). They used to be thrown into asylums and kept on drugs while their money was stolen from them. It still happens, and it has to be terrifying to a woman like Taylor Swift, whose success angers a lot of people.
