bash is not a language at all... it's as you said a shell, with some built in tools. But not a programming language.. so it should not be on the list :P
Knowing security specialists and hackers myself, i know they don't use ruby, java, php, javascript at all.. they use python mostly, and some c/c++ wherever needed.
