Ot waiting for the next La Sportsman to come out to get a few tips. OMG brings back a lot of good memories. Thanks for sharing. Love your videos. keep up the good work

Well … we didn’t make it out yesterday due to unforeseen circumstances… Went this morning and only got three door mat “Flatties” and a box full of yellow mouth white trout for a buddy of mine that wanted some for a fish fry tomorrow ev😢ening… Can’t “wax-um” every time farso! Y’all keep the vids coming brother! 🕷️
Hey Tommy, I have had great success both tagging and catching tagged fish that were completely healthy and showed remarkable growth since tagging. This is for each for trout, redfish and tripletail.
I agree on reds and triple tail but many trout cannot take it and die. It’s proven. Cca Star rodeo added a division for catching a tagged trout. They tagged 100 trout 2 years in a row and not one was caught.
@@tommyvidrine Trout are less likely to be recaptured because of plenty of reasons. One of the main reasons for a tag-recapture program is to estimate a population size. If 100 trout are tagged, and none are recaptured (0/100), that can mean that the population size is much larger than redfish or tripletail. Also, trout are more likely to be prey to other fish and porpoises- the natural survival rate of a trout is lower than that of redfish and tripletail. If a tagged fish is eaten, there’s a 0% chance it’ll be recaptured. Also, Redfish can be more likely to be recaptured because they generally move around less. If an angler fishes a known “honeyhole” and tags a fish, the fish isn’t likely to leave very far and hence has a higher chance of recapture. Tripletail are a bit different, but they are also predictable in where they hang out. Sometimes they’ll even get on the same buoy you caught them on after you tag them. This makes each individual fish very vulnerable to recapture. Anecdotally, last year I had a trip where I tagged and released 8 legal trout at LB harbor. 2 out of 8 were recaptured within a month is Bay St. Louis.
Another great video. Could you do a close up for one of your future videos and explain the difference between the stinky pogies that you throw back and the ones you are after. Thanks again.
Love how much fun you and Roscoe have fishing...but I know a killer when I see one... like we say up here in east mississippi, are you a deer hunter or a deer killer! Keep the videos coming! BTW when MS Jay catches a ball slapper.. what does she call it?😅😅
Some really fine fish hooked on this trip, some of them boated (Rosco). I even saw a guy catch one with no hat on. The scenery took a dive but the fishing was purdy good. Can you keep croaker caught in the cast net?
Can you post a video of you working the bait? Just trying to see if you’re letting the bait drop all the way to the bottom or you working the bait before it drops.
If it’s Pogies they work themselves. You keep the slack out. When hooked through the head they move from the location you cast so you are constantly reeling slack and re casting them

I watch SEVERAL RUclipsrs, and come to think of it, I’ve never seen anyone catch a tagged speck or flounder!

@@robo4605 It’s a needle in a haystack. That’s a good thing indicating our haystack is big (plenty of fish out there)

TOMMY V.
Only one thing to say the legend
Phenomenal

Yes. Next time. The smelly one looks like a freshwater shad. The nose is more rounded. You can tell just by the smell. Strong
Nice trout
I Have no doubt, Tommy V could catch 4# trout in his bathtub. He is a real “trout master”.
Great video
Thanks!
@@tommyvidrine headed down for a few days it would be nice to go fishing with y'all

That idiot Todd Masson tags every throwback, and your right it ends the growth
Is there a time of the year i can go with just plastic and Catch those fish?
Not big ones like that but the catch trial with plastic the temperature needs to drop about 15° and these trash fish like ladyfish move out of here
Yall need to get out my fishing hole geez lol
Y'all aren't lucky just good fishermen
