  • Yeah, I know I post a lot of videos of Crib Goch. I've been up there a lot recently. What ya gonna do?
    I've always wondered how fast I could cross Crib Goch if I tried, and now I know! Anyone dare to challenge me? Well you shouldn't, because you'll probably die.
    For quality mountain guiding (next summer) you need a Brave Dave Guided Adventure. Check it out at www.iambravedav...

    Dave, my cat saw this video over my shoulder and decided to replicate your speed record. The cat was so close to beating the time when it succumbed to a tragic end. The crib goch police have been informed. RIP Tiddles.

      @BraveDave  6 лет назад +1

      Nice one, Rob! Yeah, maybe try to avoid the rain :) But I'm curious, when you say "more off piste" what do you mean? It's not like there are multiple ways along the ridge :P Or do you mean going up the North Ridge rather than from the Pyg track?

    hey dave I recommend a little mini hand held camera gyro stabilizer, ya know the thing that keeps it from being shakey, would be a great addition for ur upcoming fat follow up.. it could also work as a better grip on ur camera, I could imagine holding an awkwardly shaped camera would make this more difficult

    • @BraveDave
      @BraveDave  6 лет назад +1

      Holding my camera is actually really easy. I think that a gyro would be more akward to hold and I wouldn't have the wrist control to quickly turn it to face different directions like I do at the moment. Also I think you've misunderstood what the Fat Follow Up is. It's a video about the Big Fat Freight Hop in more detail, not another freight hop :P

      Snowdonia is a national park, yes, and all of the mountains in the UK are public access. Snowdon is the most popular and has about half a million walkers a year, I think. One of the routes to the summit includes Crib Goch so naturally you get a lot of people up there in prime season, including some far less experienced than others. Mountain Rescue are always having to go and help people in jeans and/or sandals with no waterproofs who get caught out by a change in weather. Silly people!!

    Great video Dave . I doubt it’s a world record but it’s still a fraction of the time it took me to clamber over it . Here is a link to a video describing Colin Donnelly’s welsh 3000 record that stood for 30 odd years. There is a clip of him running over crib Goch and down the scree slope towards Nant Peris. Stay safe. ruclips.net/video/ilHqrDDWMVk/видео.html

    • @BraveDave
      @BraveDave  4 года назад

      Hi Aled! Haha, yes, the "probably a world record" bit was just tongue in cheek. I've seen the Colin Donnelly video before. It's crazy how fast he is, and how effortlessly he runs over Crib Goch and down the scree. It would be fascinating to see a full video of his run with modern tech (like drone footage) to see just how he covered certain parts so quickly.

    • @BraveDave
      @BraveDave  6 лет назад

      The reason I film in 4:3 is because it actually captures more footage, as 16:9 just cuts off the top and bottom. When on the edge of a cliff it's best to be able to see as much as possible to get a better feel for the depth.

    • @MalteSpieltYT
      @MalteSpieltYT 6 лет назад
