Seen it millions of times, and no matter how many times I watch it, Grandad's "well I'd have to think twice" line still cracks me up 🤣

Zoe isn't seen or mentioned again, so Rodney isn't involved with her for long either.

When Del says he's going to put Rodney's name down for BUPA, he's taking out private medical care insurance.
Also towards the end where Del tries to explain his injuries by falling down the stairs at Monkey Harris's house, Rodney says "Monkey Harris lives in a bungalow" A bungalow is a single story house.
Surprising how many jokes from the show travel pretty well, probably helped by the fact there is a lot of jokes in each episode. Thanks for the reaction!

To me, this was the episode that really cemented Del's love and respect he has for Rodney. That only grows as the show progresses which helps bring out that magic. The show changes SO much in future episodes, and for the better. Get your tissues ready, you'll need them :) I hope you're liking it so far!

It is similar to the episode where Rodney is dating a cop
and takes the heat for Dels stollen watches
They often resent each other but always defend and protect each other

Only in the case of real threats to Rodney. The rest of the time he is coming up with ways to screw him over or use him. He is a fake companion, which is why it is funny that he is unsuccessful.

The concept of Del getting beaten up in order to protect Rodney would occur again in "Little Problems" when Del, much to Rodney's ignorance, chose to take a beating from the Driscoll Brothers after making a promise to him, having forgotten the money Del would use for Rodney's wedding gift was also the money which he owed to the Driscolls.

I like only fools and horses especially the earlier ones, i remember watching this the first time, the thing that confuses me though is that the women is considered old at 40 years old, i am a 48 year old male and when i say that i am getting old people say that is still a very young age perhaps back in the 80,s when this episode was first shown being 40 was considered getting old for a women etc, maybe someone can clarify this, i know back in the 1940,s, and 1950,s being in your 40,s was considered getting old, i just find this strange as a lot of people say now that being in your 40,s is still a young age.

Rodney was in his 20's so a 40 year old women was old for him and Grandad
with people leaving to over a hundred 40 isn't even middle age also its
a matter of perspective I think people in their 40's are old but i'm not old
and I passed 40 a long time ago
