Wow! Warning for new people, DON'T go to the website. There's a trojan virus attached to that website. My computer detected it right away, blocked it and removed the threat. It informed me it was a severe threat!
YESS! Everyone pay attention to this!! I gave up that website years ago, and have put in the description of this video and in the comments that it's not my website anymore, but some people may miss that. Hopefully not!
This is a great form... how do you ensure clients' privacy since all of their personal details are on the form. Do you store them on your computer? Just curious, I'm sure you have a secure system, just curious how that works. I love your content! Thank you so much for helping people get on their feet in the dog walking business! ;)
I loved this. I'm currently looking into starting my business. I will definitely add and I suggest anyone looking adds a few more questions under the vet section. I would ask for an authorized amount of money that can be spent in emergency situations that the owner will pay for (either pay you back for or preferably leave a card number for you or on file at the clinic) incase there is a life or death emergency and you are unable to get ahold of the owner. I would also ask about medication reactions and vaccine history. This are important questions in my opinion, due to my 5 years of veterinary experience.
hello I am 12 and I want to start my own business so I’m going to hand out flyers and I want to walk dogs and also a few other things what do you recommend with flyers to get clients
Try walking some of your friends or family members dogs first for free or paid, just for some experience first. Also if you're making flyers and putting them thru ppls doors u should put a picture of urself with a dog, that way when they call u they know that ur a child. Just because some ppl wont want children to walk their dogs, it's just good for them to know that beforehand ❤
Love your videos, thanks. What's happened to your web page, it says you can no longer connect. Is there anywhere else to get a copy of your template please?
I've discontinued the webpage, as so much has happened that hasn't allowed me to keep up with it. I'm thinking about perhaps putting the template questions into the description box. Stay tuned!
Hi I’m 16 and trying to start a friendly neighborhood dog walking for a few neighbors I have on my street not really a business and was wondering if this paperwork and insurance and things like that is still necessary. I have close to zero experience, I had a dog but she didn’t walk on a leash, she’d go outside when I did then come when I call her
Doing the paperwork and insurance isn't completely necessary if you're planning on just walking a few dogs here and there. It's mainly for if you're starting a business and plan to make it bigger
Go to the "Wayback machine" Internet Archive website (Google it), enter the link that she provides in the RUclips video's description or her old website link (www.inruffcompany.com), click on 2018, look for August 17th, click on "00:29:26", scroll down to the blog post title "How to Organize Paperwork for Your Dog Walking Business," and click on it to open it up. You will be able to see the blog post with the template inside. or just use the link below... web.archive.org/web/20190204052052/www.inruffcompany.com/blog/2018/7/15/how-to-organize-paperwork-for-your-dog-walking-business Hope this helps!
what do you do if there's an emergency and you can't take the client's dog on that day? say if your vehicle breaks down, whatever. do you know other walkers who can do it for you that day? especially if say the dog has to be looked after during that day and can't be left alone and just miss out on a walk. also say if the weather is SUPER DUPER BAD and nobody is going to be walking dogs that day at all.
Good question! It's always good to know some other dog walkers in your area. That way you can call on them if you do need some help. I find that dog walkers in general are very willing to help out, and then you can help them out if they need it as well. If you're taking the dogs to the dog park you can easily meet other walkers there (during the day the parks are usually filled with more walkers than owners!). I've had to help out a few dog walking friends in the past, and they've helped me as well, so it's a good idea to get some peoples phone numbers. In terms of weather, unless there's a natural disaster it's pretty much expected that you'll walk the dog. If there is an extreme weather warning (ex. extreme heat or cold) you should still go to the clients house to at least let the dog outside to go to the bathroom. Clients definitely understand the shortened walk/visit because, of course, they want their dog safe above all else. Do make sure to let them know at the beginning of the day if you are going to do this, and I like to discount the price to accomodate. I've only ever shortened walks for extreme heat or extreme snow storms, though. Most owners don't see rain as a good reason to shorten

I do not recommend putting a photo of yourself because you do not want anyone contacting you in any creepy way.
