Anyone have an opinion on this plane being a good trainer? I use to fly nearly 40 years ago but got married, started a career, etc., so laid that hobby to the side. In my late 50’s now and have time, and money, to get back into the hobby. I would prefer a one and done plane so that I don’t have a trainer then a more advanced plane, etc.

Hopefully Alvin can comment, it looks a nice tame flyer, id personally go for something cheaper and smaller for training, and work your way back to. This cub is a big bird 😍

iI've only been flying for 2 years, but now only large models of up to 3.40 meters. If you are interested in good-natured but very far-reaching trainers, I would recommend the Multiplex Funcub XL.
But I fly with a much better setup of electronics than the original. I have equipped them with the better and more expensive metal geared servos. Got a Gearless Hacker motor, a Flywing 80A ESC, Hacker 6S 3800mAh batteries and a Unisens E XT90 telemetry sensor. It has a lot of power and is a bit heavier than the original, but the motor, controller and batteries are designed for durability. Can be flown very slowly or flown 3D. Even with the original drive set, the MPX people can tow the 4-kilo high-end glider Antaris. With this version she has even more power! Flight times are between 7 and 9 minutes. If you have any questions just PM me. I also fly other large models.
Greetings and have a nice weekend
