The "screams" are called kulokk. It was what people sang to bring their livestock home from the mountains in the evening. Gåte means riddle. You cannot put Gåte into a music genre. They play everything from folk rock to folk metal.

I found this band by chance more than twenty years ago (they released a video for the song "sjå attende"). Since then I fell in love with Gunnhild's voice. The band disappeared for a decade but came back in 2017, I always keep an eye out for their new albums.
