Could not agree more. It is the 2020 roller coaster we are on. It has been an uphill climb coming out of a three month lock down. I can hear the ratcheting of the chain as we climb to the top with the likes of Knull, The Black Winter, and now DC hitting on all eight cylinders with the Three Jokers on the way. Good times indeed at least if we are locked down again on the downhill slope of this ride we will have plenty to occupy the time. Arms up, free falling, and enjoying the ride!

They will break up and Alfred definitely wont stay dead for long. Comics always return to the status quo. The bigger question here is whether these things will remain canon at all.

Eli Wolkenstein Yes and no while DC is putting out these at the same time, they lineup differently in the actual DC timeline which is usually just figuring out which comics an event happened before and which ones it happened after. Like in this case we know The Joker War happens after/during DC’s Hell Arisen but before Death Metal due to Commissioner Gordon being infected.
They seem to always run a couple of events at the same time making it awfully hard to get into reading their stuff.

Benjamin Foster has to be before Hell Arisen bc Gordon got cured at the end of it and it took place after Year of The Villain

The problem with the concept of "war" in the Batman universe is how it runs counter to the history of this universe. The Joker and Batman relationship is of Law and order vs Chaos. War is about destroying or making the the other side submit. The Batman has had many chances to kill the Joker and spared his life of a number of occasions. The Joker also saved the Batman but for different reasons. It's basically Yin and Yang. The best you can hope for is a stalemate, but still entertaining to see them try to break the stalemate. If either Batman or the Joker wanted to kill, then make it final and have permanent consequences for those choices.
We Already have more than a Couple stories that have the Joker Try to break The Stalemate and every time they look like they're going to have Long Lasting Consequences until they Don't
Which is Kind of the Deal with Comics in General there's always a Pace of Everything Happens but Nothing Happens really Cause everything returns to Normal Soon Enough
As long as Jason gets to kick some ass and permanently off a villain, it'll be perfect

I dont understand how people arent tired of all these joker stories. Plenty of other batman rogues deserve their time to shine yet they are consistently ignored in favor of giving the joker another event.

The thing is Batman Endgame was the best Batman Vs. Joker event, back then he had also lost his fortune and his family was fractured, Gordon was not in the GCPD and helping Bruce and Alfred was out of Commission.
That last pic of batman in the storm of batcloud just gave me goosebumps

ACE ZANDERS yeah he did when the designer was first telling his story in issue 90 on page 13 and he says “he fell of course humiliated and broken and I do not believe he solved another crime in his life and ultimately he died a shadow of what the world remembered him to be” ....but yet somehow Bruce managed to find this detective but yet still managed to have no idea who the designer was when he first saw him if you know who the detective is you must know who the designer is right? because they were great enemies it’s like you can’t know who Batman is without knowing who the joker is right?

You’re actually mistaken. The person at the end is the ORIGINAL DETECTIVE. that went up a against the designer and lost everything. That’s why it says “seen the face of death”( talking about the designer) and tells Bruce “the greatest lesson I can teach you is how to lose” because the detective, again, loss and was overcome by shame and the designer became infamous defeating his greatest foe.
Loving Tynion IV Batman run so far. Definitely is the Bat book for me thus far. Your review did a great job of condensing the Dark Designs run thus far. I thought though Baker represented the great detective that The Designer broke and defeated?? Did I misinterpret that? I thought Bruce was to represent Truimph where Baker failed. Ahhh comics. The animated shows, movies, etc DC is putting out is to me better than anything on D+ right now. Doom Patrol and Stargirl have been been put together very well. Marvel needs to shift gears and go ahead and put out some of the content they have already completed. Go ahead and put Black Widow and New Mutants out video on demand the same way Trolls and others did at the start of the shutdown, as it looks like we are in for another "time out" regardless on who likes it or not. At least Mr. Sionis gets it....
