These songs were our anthems back in the day. From nuclear weapons to our brothers and sisters around the world 🌎 who had nothing to eat to our farmers losing their land. To day we just get on social media and pretend everyone cares about what we think. ( sort of what I'm doing now ) back then we cared. Today we pretend to.
She loved it from the first "shout".
DEE IS RIGHT!!!! IT SHOULD BE PLAYED AROUND THE WORLD!!! I HAD SO MANY TEARS CAME FROM MY EYES AS I WAS WATCHING YOU GUYS REACT TO THIS SONG!!!! WOW!!!! THERE IS SO MUCH GOING ON IN THA WORLD!!! SHE IS RIGHT!!!! GREAT REACTION!!!!
They were ahead of their time, totally saw things politically. The order of the names of their albums also shows that. I have this Album Vinyl still 😂
The song is about a therapy session that the singer went to. The therapist said to shout out all the negative things in his life to get rid of them.
Super talented guys.
These guys were as big as anyone for a few years there. Huge radio play, MTV constantly
Easton , Bristol '84 . Love this band .
You are right, these guys talk abt real things of life. Not everybody like to face it, but life is far beyond the rose glasses. 🥰
Mad World by Tears for Fears. One of their best.
Their songs were/are the anthems of our lives, whether young or older. As soon as anyone hears their songs, they’re transported back to when and where they were when they first heard the song. That there songs are as relevant now as they were when first released , demonstrates the depth of writing and understanding of the world’s issues, and why their music is iconic.
I grew up as a young kid in the 80's. I have fond memories of this song because I often spent time in this massive park that had lots of houses around it and I remember being out on the weekend and hearing this song absolutely blasting from houses while I was at the park and it just formed a great memory.
Even as a hard rocker back in the day, I always really liked the music of Tears for Fears.
Chod/Dee, you'll love their "Sowing the Seeds of Love", "Change" and "Pale Shelter"!!
And "Everybody wants to rule the world"
Sowing the seeds of love and Woman in Chains❤️
Check out “Woman In Chains” off their Sowing The Seeds of Love album. Talk about music, lyrics, and incredible singing. A very emotional song!
Great Reaction. I agree this song should be played around the world at all times.❤️✌️🌼
Roland Orzabal e Curt Smith, two geniuses.
Great great request
This is from their second album Songs from the Big Chair released in 1984 or 85. We own this album. These guys are a great British band..she needs to hear Everbody wants to Rule the World and Head Over Heels. Their other big hits. Great music.
Her name is Dee. No hate. I just wanted you to know. ✌️
Roland went on as a single act under the Tears For Fears name for quite a few years. His first solo album Elemental is great.
I remember getting this album for Christmas one year in middle school. Classic album.
Tears for Fears is one of the greatest bands ever!
I saw them play live last night. Still phenomenal!
In the 80,s these where and still are my favorite band. If you like them go watch returning to California full live. There live playing and singing was so good.
I love... (TEARS FOR FEARS)-!!
She’s completely on point, this was actually written as a pro-protest song.
That mountain top guitar solo 🎸 🔥 🔥
This entire song is so epic with so many moving parts that come together like a well oiled machine, that solo is overlooked sometimes when looking back on the top solos of all time.
I wish more of their music showcased Roland's guitar playing skills.
This was when music was impactful. I would put Mr. Gordon Sumner, aka Sting , in that category. You should check out Stevie Wonder and Sting live performing Stings profound and hauntingly beautiful, "Fragile". Two of the most prolific and socially aware genius composers and musicians. It doesn't get better than that.
Well in the 80's they were massive. Played all the time on radio&tv at least here in Sweden.
I never met anyone that think they are cheesy, perhaps it's another state of mind in US.
This is really a anthem with strong lyrics and are more relevant these days than ever really.
Also check out their performance at Roskilde Festival 2019, it's here on RUclips. They still sound really good.
. I liked the song, loved the vocals and the lyrics and the instrumental parts. Excellent job talking about the music. Thank you.
Got to hear them last night here in Atlanta… in their 60’s with great voices still and packed the amphitheater. 2 hours of hits and 3 off of their new album “ Tipping Point”…..” Shout is their encore.
Great reaction!!. I am in the thumbs up camp for Tears for Fears.. still performing today.
I love their voices and synchopated rhythms.
Chod & Dee both of the singers , Roland Orzabal & Curt Smith had kinda rough chilhoods growing up. They are both fans of a type of therapy called Primal Scream Therapy. Hence the title & chorus. I would also beg to differ about this being a hit or miss song. This song & another , Everybody Wants To Rule The World , are from the same album and are two of the biggest songs from the 80's. They just released a new album this year & are currently on tour. Sowing The Seeds Of Love would be a great choice for your next song to react to by them.
Pale Shelter is a masterpiece from this group, you have to do it. 🔥
The Badman’s Song. Manu Katche on drums, during the Oleta Adam’s years. Definitely grooves.
Like it -- Make the whole world LISTEN & SHOUT about what's going on everywhere -- cause it's human history -- as The Talking Heads once sang -- "Same as it EVER WAS, SAME IS IT EVER WAS" -- we're lost and spinning in a downward cycle ......... AGAIN
Always loved Tears For Fears since they first came out. Saw them in concert last weekend & they still sound great. Hope ya guys check out more of their songs - including their new song "The Tipping Point". Btw, I've actually never really heard anyone say they're cheesy. Even my heavy metal friends loved them back in the day. :)
I sing Shout at karaokes all over even on holidays in other countries and everybody all join in on the chorus because there having a great time
I love Tears for fears, they are currently on tour on the US, definitely an awesome show to check out, they still sound great
Iconic song of the 80's - well worth it.
Girl...I was just about to say your man was smiling through that bass solo...Great 80's band! one of the best!
"Head Over Heels" MUST be next. This album in vinyl is a must in your discography. Thanks! I guess I like the word "must" but it applies nicely.
Incredible voices. I love these guys. Friends for years. One of them I know had a really rough home life. Maybe both. Professor of Rock does amazing stories and interviews about how songs came to be or a how they didn't almost come to be. Like for instance Guns & Rose's song Sweet Child of Mine is about one of the Everly Brothers daughter that Axel Rose was in love with and even married for a few months. Between it being view and downloaded from iTunes it's more than any song ever. Over 2 billion times.
I love "Tears for Fears" and "Talk Talk" ! They are two fantastic bands 😍
"Everybody wants to rule the world" is the other hit song., but their LPs are quality.
You should really check out Woman in Chains and Sowing the Seeds of Love. And from their current album, I love The Tipping Point and Rivers of Mercy and My Demons. And from earlier albums-Change and Mad World.
Love me some TFF. Excellent reaction by the both of you. I don’t think they ever got the credit they deserved. Badman’s Song featuring Oleta Adams is another fantastic song. 🔥🙏
I love Tears For Fears! They are brilliant…..please react to their new video of The Tipping Point. Roland wrote this after his wife passed away🔥🔥🔥
I love you guys. I am glad to see you back where you excel. I enjoy your reactions a lot!!
Whenever I see the video for "Shout", I cannot help but think of the video of the live performance of "Hey Jude" by the Beatles, specifically when the audience joins them on stage to sing along. The mix of races, ages, and so on is notable there as well, and given that it was made in '67 or '68 shows how ahead of their time they were in their ideals. Things like that make both songs timeless!
I'd never thought of that but you're right, the Hey Jude video is so famous, especially here in the uk, that TFF had to be influenced by it
Even children get this message !
you will love the "Working Hour" by them
Big hit great tune!
Love them 💕much love to you and your family 💕Brandi Modrak 💕
Remember that group from years back in the 80Tees
It is about primal scream therapy.
TBH, neve heard one bad song by TFF. Not one. Super talented!
Exactly
Absolutely agree not cheesy at all!😄
Love their 'Head over Heels' and 'Sowing the Seeds of Love.'
What "lot of people" don't care for them? They obviously were asleep during the 80's - this was an enormous band! Their videos may sometimes lean toward the cheesy, but most bands back then gave control to vid directors, whose "creative visions" were often disappointing. Their music was not considered "cheesy" by critics or the GP, believe me.
tears for fears are NOT cheesy in the slightest. loved group by those with good ears.
Mad world was pretty cheesy. Songs from the big chair was great through
So agree! I'm really confused with that comment
Este tema y el de the breakfast club ,creo k son las 2 canciones k definen los años 80 a la perfección....
Hit and miss huh?
With who ?
They are brilliant and all their songs are world class..
check out ther another classic WOMAN IN CHAINS
Deeeutiful!!!
I often thought this should be incorporated into Primal Scream Therapy! DITTO on "HEAD OVER HEELS" and the official music video will explain much of it. Not sure what Chod means by 'cheesy'.
A lot of New Wave such as this seemed to be a sort of crossover from 1970s Progressive Rock into the 1980s.
Who the hell could not like Tears for Fears?! You’d almost have to be without a soul or a pair of ears!
Both of your reactions are great and Tears For Fears is great also. Thanks again
Chod & Dee...Have a listen to Woman in chains, Tears for Fears featuring Olita Adams. I'm sure you'll enjoy it!
I like these guys, I first got hooked by Everybody Wants To Rule The World.
Wonderful reaction! There is a lot of stupid - racism, bigotry etc - in the world today. We need to shout out against it as loudly as possible!!!
Your brain Is racist
Come on my guy you’re a great drummer!
TFF very good band; need more!
Hi Guys! Long time no comment :)
Love hoe this song builds and builds along the way, fantastic.
This will be the song for Stranger Things Season 5.
I'm calling it! :D
And Woman In Chains. 👍
TEARS FOR FEARS
Great song, haven’t heard this in a long time
☮️❤️🔥🔥🔥🎶🎵🎶...😎
King's X - Over My Head. :)
DUDE . This Rex Newman . A must IS , Alan Parsons symphonic project . ( i Robot ) live in Columbia . pretty sure you would like to pass this around .
👏👏👍💯😎
Aaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhh!!!!!!!
This was a rage song for us / me...in my teens. This and Beastie Boys....do some old school Beastie Boys reactions !
Woman In Chains is fantastic.
Very positive song. Unfortunately negativity seems prevalent at the moment.
A great song and a great band
Revenant song for today right? Come on and Shout it out!!’
Hold up. I've seen the video many times since it was released and NEVER saw the instrument breakdown! From that point it looks like different video. The crowd was not there. Older folks memory I forgot?
This Latina looks are enhanced by wearing glasses . I understand why she wears the glasses 👓 . She would look totally different without them
Heads up-Both singers were abused by family members and shouting was a therapy tool. Now listen again.
Do “Head Over Heals”, I think it’s their best!
You should also react to the song MAD WORLD.
Mad World is a classic.
You should react to “why does love got to be so sad” by Derek and the dominoes
I never liked this song and will never understand why it was so popular. Please do "Pale Shelter", my favorite from Tears for Fears.
just a question.................what's the music at the very beginning of this video ?
Roland Orzabal is oozing with melody isn't he?? The song was a build up from beginning to end. One of my favourite groups.
I don't think enough of their songs show his guitar playing skills. This has one of the best guitar solos of all time, it's overlooked because the entire song is so complex and has so many moving parts that just come together so perfect. It is an epic song.
Interesting, in any of the reaction videos for Tears for Fears I've never heard anyone say their songs were cheesy😖 even in comments on reactions I've never heard that. Everything has been the complete opposite. I'm very confused by that comment
can you do a reaction to Cross of Gold by Bob Seger
