Well that’s true but also look at him when he was 5 years old, realizing he was smarter/more self aware than her and concluding he should be kind. That’s some innate empathy of his personality.
Sometimes children realise that the only way that they are going to feel more of the emotional connection with the people who raise them, is by tuning into them with empathy. That's what I consciously did when I was 5, too. I was raised in a completely different situation, but was emotionally neglected also.
@@daniellamcgee4251 I would take it a step farther and say that the child parentifies themselves emotionally. I was 5 when I realized something wasn't right with my autistic/low iq mother, that was the day I became both my mother and hers.
Special Needs children/adults are the most vulnerable at being abused since many of them can't explain what's happening to them and none of them can give consent since some people think they can. My friend made it a point that no male nurses could tend to her non-verbal, mind of a 3yr old sister who was a fully developed woman. She was in an institution. Families of special needs individuals need to be vigilant in limiting who can be around the special needs children/adult. It's okay to be rude and say, "No, you can't babysit. No, you can't take them for ice cream. No, they can't go to a birthday unless a trusted individual is there to supervise the special needs children/adult personally." "No, no lap sitting allowed". "No" is never rude when it comes to safety. There's this documentary about this school for the deaf and mute and maybe blind (in Japan I think) where the institution routinely allowed men to come and molest/SA the children. I think many of the perps were govt officials or businessmen. They were the perfect victim. No one could hear their screams.(that may have been the title)
A female was institutionalized . She couldn't take care of herself. I forget what was wrong with her. I think it was something with her brain. She couldn't walk, talk, or communicate in any way. Her family said no males can attend to her. She had a male doctor but that was it. Long story short she became pregnant and nobody knew until she went into labor. They had every male worker take a DNA test and found that a worker was the father. He got locked up, and the doctor was fired because the fact that he didn't know she was pregnant indicated he wasn't looking after her at all. So sad. God only knows how long that man was molesting her.
I worked with adults with intellectual disabilities for many years and many of them had been abused in this way, at some point. One very sweet woman had had a child from rape and the baby was given away and she always missed that baby... very sad.

I don’t won’t to take anything from the young man because he is here. I was a pregnant 18 yr old because I didn’t think it was important enough to listen to my mother. The youngest was a ten yr old that was pregnant by her natural dad. She didn’t join us in group counseling. She didn’t interact with the older girls. You can tell from how emotionally intelligent this man is that he’s dealt with a great deal of trauma.
Well that’s true but also look at him when he was 5 years old, realizing he was smarter/more self aware than her and concluding he should be kind. That’s some innate empathy of his personality.
It's both. This man developed the awareness he had as a child to help himself deal with his ongoing childhood trauma.
Movie is called "Silenced." Terrible story.
One very sweet woman had had a child from rape and the baby was given away and she always missed that baby... very sad.

M* means they sexually assaulted or abused of a child. The definitions can be synonymous too. Also they may not of been physical force but manipulation or coercion that led to the assault. His distinction may have been an indication of the specific crime that had occurred.

Terrell Carter, you may never read this but you truly became a wonderful young Man. You were meant to be born, and I wish you many Blessings.
I don’t won’t to take anything from the young man because he is here. I was a pregnant 18 yr old because I didn’t think it was important enough to listen to my mother. I stayed at Catholic Charities which was a home for unwed mothers. The majority would give their baby up for adoption. The majority of the girls were 16yrs to 18 years old. The youngest was a ten yr old that was pregnant by her natural dad. She didn’t join us in group counseling. She didn’t interact with the older girls. She barely had breast, I can’t imagine her having childbirth vaginally, so if she had the baby by a C-section she would not only have an permanent emotional scare but she will have a physical scar that will always be a visible reminder. When I read you saying to Terrell you were meant to be born. I don’t believe this is what you are saying, but I can’t help but hear you say to his 11 yrs young mother You were meant to be raped by the father so Terrell could be born. I can’t believe in bad things happen to people for a reason. Terrell could have very well been born into a loving family, and have become a productive man.

Terrell, I am sorry your start in life was so rough. You have taken a very bad situation and have risen above it to be the most you can be. Your words are very inspiring!
You are incredable. So so sorry.fornyour mother. She deserved more for thos world. You made the pain worth it sir. In all the awful. You gave her life.too.
How do you grape a one legged 11 y/o?…I can’t even fathom the level of pain…
She was 10, she gave birth at 11.

Absolutely and heart breaking to hear that his mother was r*ped by an in-law and impregnated at 10 years old.
52 weeks in a year, 38 to 42 weeks to deliver a baby full term. She could have been 11@@missb2182
And unfortunately, there are more victims we may never know about.
This is one put together man, I just want to send him the best.
This man is a miracle and a testimony that where you come from is not where you have to end up.
All I can think of is how brave and strong your mother must have been to go through all of that with the cards she was dealt.
May the lord bless and keep her 🙏
How brave and intuitive this man is from a young age to know he is himself and not just the culture he was born into. Without guilt or shame or disrespect he talks his own truth.
GOD Bless You Terrell Carter 🙏🏾❤️
Oh my goodness, bless that child. She went through so much but she had her baby and look at him now! ❤
This was sad but inspirational because look at him❤
I don't know this man, but after watching this video, I wish nothing but the best in his life. God bless you brother.
😢. He 's so awesome to share this. So many families are experiencing this and are afraid to tell their story. You are brave. This will inspire so many. May God continue blessing you!
This is heartbreaking. Please don't use Terrel's story to justify forced-birth and child-r@p3. He managed to succeed despite this, not because of it. Blessings on all others in such situations.
This is completely heartbreaking.
Bless your mama, and you for what you endured. My heart is aching for you both.
Wow, your story is very motivating during a time I really needed to hear words of encouragement to keep going. And to hear you say with everything you were born into, you are not a product of your environment. Perseverance is a must.
Molested and rape are TWO different things folks! She was being RAPED
