RIP Layne Staley (Alice In Chains), Aaliyah, Melanie Thornton ( La Bouche), and Left Eye Lisa. The four most beautiful voices of the generation of the 90s, all gone in a span of 8 months. Layne tore me up the most because I could see the heroin killing him over the years. He died a truly slow and painful death. And although his powerful music came from his darkness, the darkness in the end killed him. Layne was one of a kind. I've never heard anyone put that much passion and pain into their voice. It wasn't an image, Layne lived everything he sang about. And the Alice In Chains Unplugged album was the best album I've ever listened to. Everytime I listen to an Alice In Chains song I wish I could go back and tell Layne how his music helped me and so many others through heroin addiction and how he had so much to live for. Layne Staley, Aaliyah Haughton, Left-Eye Lisa Lopez, and Melanie Thornton, I miss you all and would give anything to hear you all sing again.

Layne was such a nice person and never talked about his problems. All the shit he was forced to live through didn't surface until after he died. He only sung about it in his music. And Layne delivered it with a voice that could make even the toughest man in the world break down in tears.
