How To: Casting Big Topwater Plugs for Striped Bass

There's been a consistent topwater striper bite at the West End of the Cape Cod Canal, with lots of fish in the 40"+ range. What knot do you recommend for the dog walker?

I often change out the treble hooks for singles on a lot of my lures do you believe that will affect the action if I went to 2 straight hooks on a spook ?

Great question! Adding two in-line single hooks would most likely not affect the action of a spook..

Take off the front hooks

Hi Edward. We found that fishing our plugs with one barbless treble hook in the front was best for fish safety and hook-up ratio. All plugs at Hogy are designed to be fished with the option of one single belly hook as well.
