- I play a Magic the Gathering Online Legacy league with Ichormoon Gauntlet Control, part 3 of a 5-0 trophy challenge from Patreon subscriber Barrett. I was given 3 chances to trophy with a planeswalker control deck built around Ichormoon Gauntlet's powerful proliferate endgame engine. It all comes down to this! For the final outing, Barrett and I decided that the next evolution was adding another color. After considering Jeskai, we went where all legacy roads lead: Orcish Bowmasters. This Esper build gets Kaya in addition to the old planeswalker package plus some cool sideboard options. Embrace the dark side of the moon! MTG

@BoshNRoll With the cEDH leagues opening up on MTGO, would you do a cEDH league on the channel if it was donated for or would that be too expensive/time consuming?
edh on mtgo sucks ass, unfortunately. and cedh is also stupid expensive on the program. just saying, you'd need a princess pod, and it wouldnt really be a random pod

Loving the return to the old intro. I understood the reasoning behind the switch to the calmer intro, but dang does the old intro hit hard.
Shame to see the challenge end, Ichormoon Gauntlet is one of my favorite cards. I remember playing several standard superfriends variants, including a moderately successful Bant one with Ichormoon Gauntlet and Ajani, Sleeper Agent on MTG Arena year or three back. Ajani was surprisingly good fit for the deck, since it gave it a way to get poison counters going without dedicating a slot for something like Prologue to Phyresis.
It would be interesting to see more variations of the Ichormoon Gauntlet deck though, perhaps in another format. One thing I remember doing with some of the variants I played was heavier focus on token-generating planeswalkers and grinding out games with them, similarly to how Wandering Emperor won some games in these three leagues. No idea which format would be better fit for such strategy though, since I fear it would simply be too much beloew legacy power level.

I gotta say this is a pretty nostalgic list for me. The first deck I ever had any real success with was war of the spark era standard esper control with copies of narset, 3feri, dovin, and that kaya.

I would honestly like to see a jeskai or bant version of this. There's been a bunch of fun/good walkers printed lately that I'm not sure would be legacy playable but would probably be interesting to try out.

My question is about round 1 game 2, at the end right before you conceded. You saw that the delver didn't flip, which means it's not an instant or sorcery, so it could either be bauble, creature, or land. If it was a bauble or a sorcery speed creature, you know they'd immediately cast it, so the only two cards it could be is a land or a bowmasters. By not playing the land they are telegraphing bowmasters, to which my question is, why not wait until your end step to play around a bowasters? If they endstep bowmasters you, you go down to 1 life if it resolves which is an enticing spell to play (which i would've done myself as a delver player, we need the game to have as little turns as possible after both players have exhausted resources), and this way it gives you an opportunity to resolve a brainstorm to look for interaction. Not that it mattered what you found off that brainstorm but still

Sure does. Though I also might be biased because it’s also a bit nostalgic to me. I used to use the full version of the track in editing timelapses in gameplay vids (like so many, many Boss Rushes in TBoI)
Adding pris ending was a great choice for the deck, I'm excited to see if Kaya is the right choice

I've always wondered, is there enough Artifact Lands in the meta to warrant Powder Keg? Or would Rachet Bomb's ability to deal with Enchantments/Plainswalkers prove itself more valuable in decks where it is used?

I think this league could go on a "magic F.A.Q." to showcase why some cards aren't played as often. With so many decks going pedal to the metal trying to go under, walkers by themselves just can't match the tempo I think.
At this point I'm not sure he even HAS neighbors
I assure you I have human neighbors who do regular human activities like lawn care and drinking sweet liquid from straws. I am not an alien broadcasting from a far away galaxy.

I think this list has too many narsets/not enough planeswalkers that impact the board. That seemed to be the struggle this league to me.
nerd moment but is The Filigree Sylex better than powder keg (probably not)

I also run a one of Diefication for my pioneer version of this deck for gideon. As long as you have a creature you cant lose! its interesting against creature less decks.
