There is an absolutely unique/piercing anointing in Twinkie Clark’s voice. Even singing in unison with her sisters, @1:52 “look to the,” that “the” piercing note...whew! Shouldn’t have favorites but she is mine of all the Clark Sisters...
Even at the end when Karen starts leading, Twinkie hops up and takes over the soprano since Dorinda didn’t swap out haha. They’re amazing!
After Twinkie grabs my heart at 3:57, and 4:51: then Karen ministers to it 5:28-5:39 and Jackie just holds onto it at 5:41, and Lord, that Dorinda, reminds me that I am part of a crucial spiritual exercise. While her sisters, the powerhouses, had me jumping around, she calms me right on down the way she just pleads with and caresses my heart at 5:53, "gotta gotta gotta hang on." She gets me every time, and I'm hanging on in there for sure!

The perfect blend! Karen with the Soprano on the top note, Twinkie under her with a secondary soprano, and they switch lead back and forth during their respective parts. Jackie holding down the bottom note making sure that no parts are missed..very important. The jazzy sound of Dorinda wasn’t apart of this song so she didn’t get much shine, but she still slipped it in there here or there, and brought all three of her sisters’ melodies together at the end when she took over to end the song. They really should give a class on how a group or choir should be managed!

Jennifer Hudson is one also...they use their voices differently but the power and notes are consistent imo
With all due respect, I always saw or thought Twinkie was a lyric soprano and Karen is a light lyric, but I may be wrong. Just don't call her a mezzo-soprano, as many do. I'm like, that's more Dorinda than Twinkie. But you may be right though.
