Gee! The back part platen of my brand new sander just popped out. I couldn't push it back in. I called B&D for support. They immediately put me on hold after explaining what was wrong, had no clue this thing is a platen 😂, came back on the line and said I am taken care of. I'll be receiving my package in 2 weeks. I am thinking I am getting a brand new sander. Lo and behold, I get this envelope in the mail less than 1 week later. They sent me just the platen, figured out the name from the packing slip 😂. So... what am I going to do now. No clue! I go aha! Let's google it. How to replace a platen on a B&D mouse sander. And to my outmost delight your RUclips video came. I cannot tell you how helpful this has been. I am going to look for the right screwdriver in my tools, and god willing I'll be back in business in a jiffy! Thank you soooo much!
Mr. Fred I have a Black & Decker Matrix 20 V I have borrowed and I am replacing the old plate with a new one. I am having trouble trying to figure out how to get it off. Can you please help me?
Cool magnet tip! My mouse must be older than yours - it only has ONE screw holding the whole platten on! I need to know what glue to use to attach the pad to the base. It’s hot here in AZ & glues & tapes don’t last as well… Appreciate any help you can offer. Thanks, Christie B
My BDEM600s plater wore out in the tip screw lock after 4-5 uses, although I was careful not to overheat it, I mainly used the longer tip most of the time since I need it for small curved pieces. Since I need to replace the plater, do you know if there are more durable versions?
Is there a sticky residue on either side? If so I would try to remove it with denatured alcohol or acetone. That would clear the way for a two part epoxy to bond the two back together. I like gorilla glue epoxy because it’s a syringe and it’s at Home Depot & Lowes. I would so make a video for this lol. Good Luck!
Thanks for telling me! I’ve updated the links. I found two sites with this platen. Buckeye tool shows that is compatible with the model in the video. Thanks for watching!

I am not too familiar with the matrix model. It seems that the sander attachment is available on amazon for under $30
@ thank you for your reply. I have just ordered a new sander.
Whats easiest way to remove bearing from wheel?

I would try the 3M super 90 spray adhesive. It’s made for the heat.

If there is I have not found it. These things are not getting any more affordable either! Thanks for watching the video!
I accidentally pull off the velcro just after one use. Any advice to place them back?

I went to EReplacementParts and it said it was no longer available. Where else can I go. Please respond.
These are becoming hard to find and pricy! There here is the part I used but it’s expensive. Thanks for watching! amzn.to/3DB0EOW
I followed the link and the platen is unavailable :( . I will keep looking. Maybe on ebay.
