For the lady who asked about 200 pages being 100 folds. Each page in a book is numbered so each leaf of the book is 2 readable pages example page number 1 and 2 are ONE leaf and one leaf makes a fold so a book with 200 numbered pages will make 100 folded pages
very nice - and great tip about fixing the hair with pva. I have a couple of barbies that I want to do permanent makeovers and this solves the messy hair problem.
I only did it because my fingers were covered in glue and I was trying to get her hair into place, A bit stuck so I just covered it all in glue. It worked a treat.
She's absolutely beautiful. This combines two of my favorite things, dolls and books. I love how she turned out with all the embellishments. I will definitely give this a try.
Alison I just wanted to say thank you for uploading all these videos I have learnt so much from you. You are so talented. The things you do are amazing and your videos are so easy to watch and learn from. Keep them coming and thanks again.
I love it! I will have to make a couple of these for my granddaughters.... I don't do chocolate at Easter, they get handmade gifts xx TFS and for your inspiration x
Hope they are not too young Faye they are more for decoration honey and no good at all for a toy. If they are a bit older they are fab for room decorations or use her arms to hold bracelets or hair bobbles.
Allison your doll is s big hit. I have subscribed so many people to your channel. when my son shows me how to download my picture I want you to see my doll. I am so excited. looking forward to seeing your next brillant idea.
I used to do these with my Gran! She'd sit me down with stacks of National Geographic have me just fold, fold fold until I finished the stack then she'd use them to make centerpieces for tables. I always started with the cover fold down, next page fold bottom corner up & just repeat for the whole book then she'd glue cover to cover. They sold pretty well at craft fairs in the 70's & 80's
My mom use to take old telephone books and fold the pages back like you did here and make a Christmas 🎄 tree out of them spray them with spray paint and decorate them. They turned out really nice.
Hi Alison. I just finished making two dolls from one book. At your urging I tried my hand at it. I already made the candle and two vases. Keep those tutorials coming you are such an inspiration. Hugs xx
I made these years ago from a Reader's Digest book and then spray painted the doll. Brings back memories. The doll head was on a stick which was inserted into the center of the book.
She is beautiful. I want to make one for each of my grand daughters! They would need to know it wasn't a toy. I used to make Christmas Trees out of thick magazine, phone books etc. for Christmas Trees in the 70's. I hope that will help me learn this art quickly. Thanks for sharing.
I miss the big old yellow pages and phone books. They were fab for all sorts of crafting. Also great for paper sticks too light my fire in the mornings hahaha
Vicki, I honestly just covered it in white PVA glue and twisted it around and around then left it to dry. The PVA dries clear. After that, I stuck some pearls into the hair.
