Toji's story is even worse. After leaving the clan, he met his first wife which he loved more than anything and helped him forget his past. She passed away only a few years after having lil meg. Toji lost everything.
Gojo took Toji's blessing(megumi) whereas Geto took Toji's curse...

In short Gojo took Toji's child megumi ( which also means blessing in Japanese another reason why he compared him to geto's jujutsu prowess cuz it was truly a blessing) while geto was taught by toji during his battle and after that non sorcerers are not to be tolerated because of what they did to amanai 😔

It's really interesting how Toji despite having only 5 episodes of screentime changed the plot for JJK and his actions made Geto's character take a different turn.
i think the impact of his character is what makes him as amazing of a character as he is.
As a manga reader i will tell you that everything that's happening in jjk is possible cause of toji he had the biggest influence in the story
Later on in the series you learn more about how the zenin clan treats people they see as failures, and you start to understand why toji held so much hatred towards the jujutsu world.

I like how Megumi in Season 1 talks about how his father didn't care to name him properly and gave him a girl name, and here we find out, he named him Megumi, because it means Blessing xD
And he named him with girl name cuz he is bad at remembering guys names

@@khalisam he didnt forget his son, he loved Megumi, he was a blessing to him, hence his name. The manga or anime never directly state it, but it was confirmed that once he met his wife, he stopped doing all that bad stuff and after she died, he reverted back. The anime isnt there yet, but theres way more to his character that will be revealed over time.
@@oldhunter2404 he was planning on selling Megumi for cold hard cash??? Toji is an amoral nightmare murderer and a bad dad to boot. Clearly he loved Megumi a lot less than Megumi's mother if she was the only thing that kept him from killing innocent teenagers for money.
Like, Toji kicks ass, Toji's hardcore, Toji has a crazy impact on the story. Toji is also irredeemably evil and unequivocally a bad person, and nothing justifies ... like .... any of his actions in the series.

Extra info about Toji: when he was young he was like this maybe even worse but then he meet Megumi's mother and had Megumi(toji named him thinking of him as Blessings) and he settled down but after Megumi's mother died he went down the bad road again.
Toji had a terrible upbringing with the zenin. You hit the nail in the coffin with his motivations at the end there. He told himself he would live with no pride after Megumi's birth, sadly he couldn't do that.
5:43 The beating that Touji gave him left him so touched that he began to use the monkey terminus on everyone who didn't use cursed energy.
Its funny cause Toji was using it sort of ironically, since he was looked at that way by the Zenin clan, so he disparages getou by saying he got beat by a monkey. Then Geto turns around and start unironically calling non-curse-users monkey

oh girl, your empathy for these characters is actually so heartwarming even when it's a tragic story. and yes, in this moment, really, you can tell Geto is trying desperately to hold it together so he doesn't lose Gojo to whatever just happened, too. it's doubtful if Geto ever really knows how much this moment really did save Gojo from going down a more disturbing and empty road, and I'm glad that's felt.
I'm also glad that Toji's situation is really felt, because if you think about it, despite being on opposite ends of the cursed energy spectrum (Gojo: all of the "blessings"; Toji: none of them), Toji and Gojo are BOTH just supremely fucked up because of jujutsu society's structure as a whole.

Man i cannot blame Geto becoming evil at all, I really agreed with Gojo there wanting to kill all those that support the death of Riko, also Toji was one heck of a father, remembering his son at his last moment and trusting Gojo with him is just heart breaking, rip Toji! Although he did do a lot of damage to everyone-

When Toji and the mediator were talking about the maid, Kuroi, it was referring to when she got kidnapped last episode basically confirming that Toji was the one who kidnapped her. Toji doesn't know if she survived or not though we do see a shot in this episode of her lying on the ground bleeding out so she's likely dead.

Wow, you really understood Toji's character perfectly I feel much the same way
Not only because of the religious group, Geto's ideals start to break little by little because of more than one event, especially since it always reminds him that he suffers from his technique for people that don't give a shit about him, and that are able to laugh at a kid's death or blame sorcerers for bringing curses.
I love how they made that last part where he refuses to kill everyone there because "there wasn't a point", it fits perfectly into his character. Suguru NEEDS a purpose for what he's doing, til now he had the purpose that "The strong must protect the weak", and in the movie it was that "The weak subdue the strong", referring to the fact that non-sorcerers are the ones who create curses and still don't care if sorcerers die while fighting it.
Gojo really went full on eren yeager while floating mid air LMAO.

All she is pointing out is there is reason for his actions. He doesnt kill people JUST for money. He doesnt do it just because he loves killing. He does it because he is broken. You get it more if you read the manga, and she got it pretty well too.

1. It's not that serious. This is all in good fun.
2. I've read the manga. All that subtext is reasoning for him going against Gojo in round 2 when he should have dipped. He 100% killed Riko(and who knows how many others) for money.
3. Nothing wrong with liking Toji or villains(Mahito is one of my favorites). It's fiction. Just no need to invent all this headcanon to justify it.

Gojo has created a theme of giving all of his students the option to choose their fate per say, he failed to stop Toji from claiming the bounty and as a result he failed to give her the option to continue to live as she chose. He doesn’t want to fail again, so he gives each of his students choices, and offers to kill even the highest in the chain of command for his students to be able to achieve their choice.

toji was talking about blessings which translates to megumi in japanese so saying that in an unrelated sentence, he remembered that he named his son megumi (blessing)
After Megumi's mother death he chosen another path to become like that if just Megumi here it’s just so sad breaking heart 💔 i love toji .
Your reaction is what I’ve been waiting for. Your ability to see Toji as more than just somebody aimless and heartless for no reason is great. Feeling for him in his last moments and seeing him as the broken person he is. Seeing that thugs aren’t always so black and white.

I dont know if anyone has said this but i think one reason gojo was high was the reverse cursed technique on his brain since cursed energy=neg emotions reversing it in his brain filled him with positive emotions putting him in a state of euphoria
his evil is more than debatable, his whole broken personality was due to the zen'in clan, the idea of self worth and self respect he never had
In the manga when sukuna broke mahitos domain (ep13 of anime) they use the same kanji as gojo here its my profile pic. The thought heavn and earth i alone am the honored one . Idk why in the anime it was changed personally i loved the parallels but this was just as awesome as i hoped it would be animated

If you remember that Toji never won when he was gambling for money, before he died made his last gamble to entrust Megumin to Gojo. Toji had never had any luck in winning when gambling, but this time he won.

One of the most beautiful episodes I've seen, ever.
your analysis of toji's character and the beginning of the end for geto's development is incredible! a lot of other reactors have been voicing their confusion with how geto could go so, so far from the person we see in episodes 1 and 2, but you hit the nail on the head. geto is starting to see weakness (having no cursed ability) as a poison instead of a virtue. he sees gojo, a sorcerer with an immense amount of cursed energy, become completely enlightened, while the civilians around him are ignorant. their wanton hatred of sorcery is only going to spawn more curses that sorcerers then have to deal with, because they can't control the output of their negative emotions. it's a vicious cycle, and geto's mental spiral to try and figure out what it all means is only going to get worse in the finale of this arc (no spoilers but damn there are a couple of panels from those chapters in the manga that straight up gave me chills, i can't wait to see them animated next week)

He is the catalyst of Gojo and Geto's relationship
Despite having 0 CE he wanted to prove to himself and the zenin clan that he was worth something by defeating the PINNACLE of Jujustu Sorcery which is something nobody can do
On top of that with his mindset with Megumi all together makes Toji such a beautiful character
Having zero cursed energy is what makes him op if he had cursed energy he couldn’t sneak up on Gojo

Okay so quick explanation on why Gojo was “high”. When Gojo mastered the Reverse Cursed Energy manipulation, he flooded his wounds with it, healing himself. He then let it flow through his body, and his brain, letting it speed up to extreme levels without taking damage. He got high from the sudden sensory overload and new levels of thought that he could never have even understood before. Due to his Six Eyes he can also basically do this forever; unlike others who use Reverse Cursed Energy like Shoko.
Gojo is the most frightening anime good guy ever
His evil is NOT debatable. Not every bad upbringing is an excuse for the horrible path one chooses take on their own volition
god imagine this scene if toji KNEW about the possibility of purple. Easy clean up for toji but instead he gets blind sided by a god level technique. Gojo had to cheat to kill toji straight up

yeah you're right, toji is the good antagonist. we understand his motivations (basically same as maki), but he is still not a good guy in general. I love this kinda antagonist.
