Cyclop was right in my opinion they been through hell and back, saved the world a couple of times. But humanity still put walls in front of them, hated them, hunted them, and feared them. They looked the other way and still chose to save humanity because it was the right thing to do. Now here comes Captain America, he may be the the first ever superhero, but he wasn't there when the X-men needed him the most. Where was he when they were hunted, killed or put restrictions on them? Also where was Tony when the mutant started losing everything? I love Cap and Stark and but i love the X-men more and they really needed a way to bring back the mutant race from extinction after house of M.

yea it is getting old. I remember in the Blue Marvel comic how Reed mentions to Antman about the mutants and how he came to be part of the mutant community because of franklin being a mutant.
it's 50ish years condensed down to 19ish years in marvel verse, everything is relevant
I feel it's beyond unfair to argue, "Where were you when we needed you?" simply because -the decision for The Avengers, or anyone else to help simply isn't their own, it's the writers -and let's be honest, if the stories were real, Cap would be helping mutants, so would Tony. If the stories were real, they wouldn't be nearly as compelling, sometimes a compelling story simply uses a weak plot point to propel the story forward.
I can't fault any character for not helping the mutant cause, because to not help is out of character for many who would, it's the writers who need to be called out for not working it into the stories.
Cyclops was the good guy in this. When cyclops got the Phoenix power he helped people. Cyclops with the Phoenix power stopped world hunger by given water and food where there was none. Cyclops was going to make sure there was no more earthquakes. Cyclops gave endless energy to people so humans could build things as long as it wasn't weapons of death. Cyclops went to the world leaders stated he was going to do much more and in the end all he wanted was peace.
but the avengers had to jump in and try to take hope away from the mutants forcibly which was a bad idea. Cap shoulda at least asked Cyclops why he is doing these things but i guess when the world is at stake no one matters.

Hulk goes World Breaker, wasnt even stopped by the sentry but satellite beam takes him out in his STRONGEST INCARNATION. Isn't the real question that hulk stopped the Sentry to a standstill. I was satisfied at that moment. Then came Hulk's entourage and beat a dead horse and added a twist to redem the illuminati. Then a space canon. The sentry was enough, you can trash sentry but hey he is more fun to me than Hyperion.
Man wish they would make a Dc x Marvel event and fight a god of gods or a being outside the univers and sees our universe as a microvers.
Don't forget he took out Void Sentry with a helicarrier when Thor couldn't even take him out.

The X-Men don't deserve the slow, painful, messy death that Marvel has put them through. I get that Fox really dropped the ball with that license but X-Men as a whole has been good to Marvel over the years and now they've just been torn apart. It's ridiculous and shameful. I hate Marvel for a long time, but recently i start to notice the pattern, they literally screw with Jean Grey for years, only to drop her, for ANOTHER JEAN GREY.

I like me some Captain America but this was some bullcrap on his part. Cyclops was 100% in the right during this event and the Avengers were agressive and dickish to them from panel one in this story.
The Phoenix 5 were fixing all of the world's problems and all the Avengers could do was whine about how much power they had and what would go wrong. #Cyclopswasright

Not weird at all. It was strategic. They did it to make the Xmen film rights less valuable to Fox to the point where Fox would be more willing to sell the film rights back to Marvel. Think about it. By producing xmen comics Marvel were helping to promote the movies and maintain public interest in those films which would hardly make Fox want to return the rights.

It's because at that time they don't own Xmen so they tried to kill them off. Now they own them they are try to rebuild them back up after what they did to X men.

X-Men and Spider-Man are MARVEL. When Marvel almost went bankrupt, they redesign Marvel in the 90's, no one gave a crap about Avengers (other than in Infinity Gauntlet stories where they are pretty much sacrifical lambs), Onslaught was Boss Villain at that time, and Spider-Man was not Iron Boy Junior.
You have god-like powers and use it to manifest a 4k TV - mad respect.
What I didn’t care for with The Avengers is that they showed up and ordered them to hand her over- they came to fight. They didn’t trust those who had experience with The Phoenix and came across like superhero police abusing their power and position.
There’s no understanding of it, they just want to hit it. Scott was on a path to becoming a villain but he had proper prompting and help from the outside world.
And worst, there was no remorse on behalf of The Avengers once all was said and done that The Phoenix, once in the hands of Hope, WASN’T A THREAT!!
Stark breaks it apart before it made it to hope- they created an even bigger problem because fear clouded good judgement.
Also, Hope was brought up by Cable and I believe she was therefore much more mentally equipped than Jean. Also, she’s a part of the force- there was all of these assumptions made about Hope and mutants without involving mutants until it was time to deal with them.
Good to see support to Cyclops, i think that if the phoenix 5 would have not been pushed(seriously, would you poke someone with anger issues[phoenix' implicit instability] and say it's their fault?), good things could have come out, as Reed Richards pointed out to cap and tony.
As Coates portrayed on the latest volume of black panther, both sides can't be right and can't be worng, and as long you don't sit to talk and make a point that integrate the best of both you are doomed to fight instead of growing.

Just to clarify the Avengers were weary of the Phoenix Five because they’ve seen first hand just how corruptive the Phoenix Force can be but they only started getting hostile with them after Namor attacked Wakanda so the Avengers were not unjustified in this story

I actually really loved this story when I read it and I normally love Robs explanations but he missed such great parts in this explanation, I know there's a lot of story to fit into two videos but he focused on Phoenix force rather than the story, that's my opinion anyway.

the phoenix has NO reason to fear scarlet witch. even if she said no more mutants again. the phoenix isn't a mutant and basically do what it wants which could be making someone a mutant or even resetting reality even after scarlet wich says no more mutants. lol

Can I ask a question? Why did you leave out the part of the story where the Phoenix 5 solve the majority of HUMANITIES problems while also creating their Utopia?
To me this was a significant part of the story because the Phoenix 5 were legitimately making the world a much better place with their powers and you only commented on what they did for themselves. And when you remove that context it makes some later actions seem much less justifiable than I think they are.
Just curious and would like a response please.

House of M is the strongest version of Wanda. You should have put her against White Phoenix of the Crown. Sure wanda has nothing against White Phoenix. Jean heals multiverse and recreate timeline itself.

Avengers Vs X-men was one of the things that got me into comics. I was looking to dive into comics and all i knew was i had to have some X-Men and this storyline had just finished. Not to mention the Avengers movie hype was still very real so this felt like the right thing to do. I ended up buying the whole run in single issues off a guy who overheard me asking about it in a comic shop by my job and i regret nothing.

Dark Phoenix was stated up in Marvel series 2 cards in the 90s. I always assumed this reflected the stats of the Phoenix force hindered by a physical body. Still strong enough to lay down the Xmen of the 90s, but not Galactus level. She could life over 100 tons, travel speed of light, standard human agility, stamina equal to about a week or so at max, durability equal to Thor and Hulk (below Silver Surfer), above normal IQ, highest level mental abilities and highest level energy projection (that the stat allowed) and decent fighting ability equal to a soldier/ninja. Years later it seems once they dove more into the Phoenix as an entity without a host, she challenged players like Galactus and better.

Utopia was the leftover wreckage of Magneto's Astroid M. That, combined with Cyclops uniting almost the entirely of the mutant race, is why Magneto decided to follow his leadership
Can we get a video about how the MCU would bring in Namor?? I think it would be a good idea to introduce him in the second Black Panther movie. He can be the antagonist for that film that rolls into his own movie. Plus those are my two favorite comic book characters...

Really? In my opinion Cyclops is a huge Dick in this story. He also kida tried to make Hope to be his prisoner and he became the main villain of this story itself.
Captain America in the over hand did the right thing and he wanted to be ready to stop a powerfull force because he know how dangerus the Dark Phoenix is really is.

To me I don't view Cap as this infalliable leader and great guy because of how apathetic he was to mutants and their issues. I think Jean Grey is the phoenix's favorite host (and then I have the impression that their farewells in The Return of Jean Grey support this) but Rachel is definitely the one who best managed the phoenix force and I find it really revolting that Bendis completely ignored this

Rob, please do a break down of the X-men Anime. I know its technically not a comic per say, but Im pretty sure I spotted Hisako Ichiki(Armor) in one of if not thee first panel of House of X #1 and I was under the impression she was created for the Anime series(correct me if Im wrong, I can take it!) so I thought it would be cool to hear how you would tie in that series with the comics in the break down. I believe they stuck pretty close to the original/authentic Phoenix saga in the prelude of the first episode, which as Im sure you know would be a first considering that no medium since the actual comic book has gotten it right(ie X-Men the animated series from the 90's, X-Men 3 from Fox, or the Dark Phoenix with Sansa Stark etc.) I think it would make a great vid and Im sure your fan base would love it. Anyway, thanks for the awesome work you do, I've learned quite a bit watching much of it actually. Especially loved your House/Powers of X vids!

Really? In my opinion Cyclops is a huge Dick in this story. He also kida tried to make Hope to be his prisoner, became the main villain of this story itself and also killed Proffesor X.
Captain America in the over hand did the right thing and he just wanted to be ready to stop a powerfull force because he know's how dangerous the Dark Phoenix is really is for the entire planet.
