I'm honestly a supporter of this music, even though I rarely listen to it. Monika is charming and her classy, slow jazz entry brings a lot of fresh air to the contest, we haven't seen this music genre making a big fuss in ESC in ages! Plus, it's fully in Lithuanian! It's been more than 20 years!
I love this song! So charismatic, so hypnotic, so chic, so glamorous! Monika is a queen! I'm pretty sure the staging will be stunning at Eurovision. Big support from France 🇫🇷
Her style is from 1918-1939 Lithuania (FREE Lithuania before Russian occupation) not Soviet burlesque by ANY means. Please don't even compare her to that horrible time of our history. We would never send something from our free country to represent the worst era of our history.
It may have been horrible, but there’s no denying that its music had massive cultural impact. You don’t have to blame 70s Soviet pop culture for the terrible regime that came with it. Music transcends that.
this song is in my top 3! I am so going to vote for it in the final! Love the vibe, the lyrics and the presentation! I agree that there is absolutely nothing soviet about it. 😟 Sending love from Ukraine 🇺🇦
I think this song has potential in coming on top with juries and also scoring very high with the televote Best entry so far. I think Lithuania will land on top 10 with ease
this is a solid, coherent and hypnotizing act, it can really attack the top 10 at least (big chances for jury top 5), i also hope it grows performance-wise and as live apparition; plenty of support from Romania! my fav entry selected yet
Here's a rough translation for the non-native speakers, It's a shame english doesn't do the song justice: Tuk, tuk-tuk Knocking in the night on my heart Full of longing Accompanied by memories Spirit You, It‘s you, it‘s you Oh long seen face Why are you laughing like a clown At my glittering eyes? Thank you! Lithuanian sounds such a unique, elegant and tender language... it was such a pleasant surprise. I wonder why some people think we should all bow our heads to the supremacy of the English language when we can express our "sentimentai" at best in our native languages. All Lingua franca havehistorically been used for business and legal documents and that makes sense... but our feelings are experienced in our own unique cultural ways and languages. I personally deem that the only way forward for us as Europeans is valuing the uniqueness of our own cultures and learning to appreciate different attitudes and inclinations in different nations. That's the beauty of ESC for me. And let's all speak English off-stage!
Yeah revamps not always make sound better... good example of Israel when Hovi Star song Made of stars was revamped... it lost beautiful melody and notes then and become common ordinary song :(
Monika said that dress will be changed as rhinestones make it impossible to move. But i do agree that it's a lovelly peace from „Más 924“ designers (other dresses from same collection were worn by the hostess of PiN, Ieva)
When I first watched this entry wasn't so much into the song itself but she really does draw you in, I think this will perform similarly to Portugal last year as in it will be a shock qualifier.
Love the song! Please be very careful about bringing the word "soviet" into any talks about Lithuania. It's very sensitive topic and might be understood as an insult
Currently, this song is 7th in my top 13 but I could see it climbing up. The song doesn't blow me away but it doesn't have to. The entire vibe is just enchanting and tasteful whilst still feeling sexy. Monika is just an absolute star and she knows how to work the camera and keep you invested on her. The more I listen to this song, the more I love it. ❤️❤️❤️
Love this! So classy and elegant. Pure quality singing with the mysterious 1950s spirit haunting 21st century woman at night vibe. A little bit more changes in staging and adding a climax would really help to elevate this. But as the singer said: everything will be changed, she pulled this off alone without a team!
It's not everbody's cup of tea but I like it . I can imagine twinkies don't care about it but it is different and she pulls your attention. Congrats Monica. Love from Belgium
She is wonderful and Diva!!! She will be in top 5 for sure!!! Classy and Lithuanian language is beautiful. This is the quality and Jury will love it. Colors brown ,gold are beautiful. Lithuanian language can sound like French:D Very good recommendations William and Deban!!!!
Love it! I do not think the act needs any revamping at all: the music is hypnotizing and not flat at all, just extremely classy. Kudos for singing in Lithuanian!
Honestly disagree with you guys somewhat in that I don't think this needs a climax at all! I think the split-screen segments serve as mini 'peaks' and I could definitely see one of those being used in the recap as it's so enchanting. I agree that there is a bit of a lull in the 2nd verse, but this is overall a really solid entry from Lithuania that shot straight to my top 3. It could even work with having a glass shattering effect similar to the end of Lena's performance in 2011 where all the versions of her dancing on the LED shatter so it's just her left - maybe that could give this more of a climax without sacrificing the nature of how the song progresses!
I absolutely love the fact that the two really big splashes were made by this Lithuanian language number, and... I'm Not Your Mother TAlk about a contrast!!
Vintage, you almost feel sentimental lol They need to go FULL jazz for the staging. I can see this working, but it's difficult. If they nail the staging to be perfectly jazzy it can work, for sure.
One of my favourites. It sounds and looks classy and original. It saddens me that this will probably not score as a good than an empty sugar pop bubble like (just an example) Spain. Top 3 for me.
Same, I am actually surprised a performance like Spain this year is getting so much hype, I kind of felt like the general audiences have been getting pickier lately and wanting something more than a dancefloor bop.

She described the genre as "Spooky Disco" and she said that she has a different idea for staging in Turin 😉
nope she is the reincarnation of a legend from Italy called Raffaella Carra the biggest world star for the last 50 years
Spooky Disco.. bwahahahahaha that is hilarious.. It's clear she has a sense of humor.

Big support from France 🇫🇷
Monika mentioned that her performance will be nothing like in the selection. And knowing her - it will be bomb.))
Yup, she has also mentioned, she wants to move a bit more in Turin. Since the sequin of this dress is quite heavy and restricting.
I had no idea about this but after reading it you made me even more excited about her in Eurovision!
You’re giving me such a big hopes :) Pavaryk Monika!! 🤘

I simply love this song.
ORIGINAL GREAT SONG. AND SHE TAKE ALL THE STAGE WITH ELEGANT 😀
I am so glad to see you both reacting to Monika. Thanks for your reaction and advices.

Baltic languages are one of the oldest in Europe, so there are similarities with all European and other languages.
And lithuanian and latvian for that matter has similarities with Indian too. These languanges diverged some 5000 years BC

So glad to hear. We love this entry!
Not a winner but so deserving to perform on the finals. So fitting to a great ESC Final!
For me, lithuanian, it was perfect lithuanian female performance. I don't need nothing else
best phrase-sound of beauty..
Its like French chanson, mixed with soviet era psychedelic with a dash of Gwen Stefani. Im obsessed
Love it! I do not think the act needs any revamping at all: the music is hypnotizing and not flat at all, just extremely classy. Kudos for singing in Lithuanian!
I love this❤ I feel like sitting in a brown bar in a Soviet style hotel in Vilnius in the 70's and she's performing on a small stage. It's so classic!
Love this vision!
Love this, honestly think she could finish in the top 10 if the quality of songs we are getting stay the same as now.

Thank youuuu 🎉

Yes, maybe not so much disrespectful but simply painful. This word has horrible associations.

Good song. But Deban liking this and not Brividi 😓
I say this with all respect. She feels like someone's kooky, darling Auntie who dances around the kitchen. Something about her is corny, but that face endears you. The problem with the performance is-just like the song itself- is that it's the same in the beginning, the middle, and the end. I'm not 100% convinced it will make the finals.
"What language is she singing ?" 😆😅😆
just in case you want to see lyrics:
there s no 80ies vibe.... its a 40 ies vibe.... its nice ... but thats all just nice...

Mireille Mathieu wants her look back.
I would have chosen Gebrasy or Ruta Loop but it’s a respectable choice. They’ll certainly enhance the performance on the Eurovision stage.
I see no one talking in the comment section about Alla Pugachëva and Lili Ivanova - trust me, this entry is a lot more Soviet/Warsaw Pact than it is French! It’s a very powerful piece.
