    As a Norwegian i would say the worst thing about Norwsy is definitely the dstkness. The cold can be handled by warm, cosy houses, but the darkness thrpugh the winter (sun goingvdown at 4/16 a d getting up late) is depressing and claustrophobic

      Hello there! As a Norwegian, your perspective on the darkness during the winter months in Norway is valuable. The long nights and short daylight hours can indeed be challenging for many people.

    I just arrived back in Canada from a 2-week vacation to Norway (Tromso, Bergen, Stavanger and Oshlo). MY GOD! Norway must be the MOST EXPENSIVE country in Europe. NOK is weaker than CAD but I still felt the pinch.

      Hey there! Welcome back from your trip to Norway! It sounds like you had quite an adventure exploring Tromso, Bergen, Stavanger, and Oslo. Norway is indeed known for its high cost of living, and many travelers find it to be one of the most expensive countries in Europe. Even with the Norwegian Krone being weaker than the Canadian Dollar, it can still be quite pricey.
      But don't let the expenses dampen your experience! Norway offers stunning natural beauty, vibrant cities, and a unique cultural heritage that make it well worth the visit. Sometimes, the memories we create during our travels outweigh the financial aspects.
      Did you manage to see the Northern Lights in Tromso during this time of the year? And were you able to explore the charming streets of Bergen and Stavanger? I hope you had an incredible time despite the costs, and I'm sure you have some amazing stories to share!

      I think Northern Lights are in winter months. I had gone to Tromso (which is in the Arctic Circle) to see the Midnight Sun. It was an amazing experience. Zindagi mein pehle kabhi 2:00 am ~ 3:00 am ko sunlight nahin dekha tha. Waapas zaroor jaaoonga Tromso to see the Northern Lights and experience the 24-hour night time. Vaise Canada mein bhi nature bahot beautiful hai and yahaan ke Northern Lights (called Aurora Borealis) are world famous. Norway is, in no way, less than Canada when it comes to natural beauty and the people are equally nice. Customer service is incredible, a little less cleaner than Canada, Finland and Sweden but a lot costlier than Canada. Bergen, Stavanger and "Ohslo" are so beautiful. Yes, I have incredible memories of your beautiful country and I invite you to see the explosion of a million colors in the Canadian Fall season and the majestic Niagara Falls. The population of Toronto is almost equal to to the population of entire Norway (but consider this: the population of Tokyo is almost equivalent to the total population of Canada).

    Norway IS an expensive country for sure, but as long as you stay out of touristy areas, you can find gems that are NOT so expensive. As a poor Norwegian, I know this and advise most traveller's to do this. Personally, what I hate most about Norway is..... Hmmm... Pricey electricity. I actually don't mind the darkness and cold so much, because u just need proper clothes for the winter, and the darkness can be Cozy in a land light Norway because we decorate with so many lights. 😂 I think what ruins Norway most to most people are the long and cold winters though. But again. It depends where in Norway you are. Where I am located, we rarely get snow. In fact, last winter was surprisingly mild. Never below 0

      You think right. On the other hand, I assume that you do not seek out Norwegians but relate to what you have with you - to another culture. Then things go wrong. Having the family in Norway would ensure that the children receive a Norwegian education and can teach their parents the language. It is also ridiculous that immigrants who have lived in Norway for many years have to pick up a spouse in the same country they came from - Why?? A new illiterate? There are plenty to choose from here, even from the same country you came from.

      Hello Anuj! The level of happiness and contentment in any country can vary from person to person based on their individual experiences and circumstances. While I can't speak for everyone who has spent many years in Norway, I can say that Norway is generally considered a great place to live by many people.
      Norway consistently ranks highly in various global happiness and quality of life indexes. The country is known for its strong social welfare system, high standard of living, excellent healthcare, and educational opportunities. It also offers beautiful natural landscapes and a strong sense of safety and security.
      That being said, personal happiness and contentment are subjective and can depend on various factors such as individual expectations, social connections, personal goals, and cultural adjustment. It's important to consider that everyone's experience may be different.

      To legally work in Norway, it's typically required to have a valid work permit or visa. As an Indian citizen working in Poland with a temporary resident card, it's important to note that your residency status in Poland may not automatically grant you the right to work in Norway.
      It's advisable to check the specific immigration regulations and requirements of Norway's government (Udi.no) or consult with an immigration lawyer to obtain accurate and up-to-date information regarding your situation. They will be able to guide you through the process and provide you with the necessary steps to legally work in Norway.
      Good luck with your job application and future endeavors in Norway!

    I do not understand some of your arguments. What is wrong with ‘work life balance’ ? Why would one want to work all the time ? Why should anyone want to mistreat your child ? It is not permitted in any western country , including USA , Canada , Australia . Child protection services will take your mistreated child away everywhere . It is cold bitterly in Canada and many parts of USA too . Norway is a country where all your wants are taken care of ‘cradle to grave’ system for people living there . People do not need to save for old age , sickness . In USA your medical insurance is linked to your job a lot of times . Medical insurance premium could be high and you pay out of your salary . If you do not have a job you do not have medical insurance in USA . If you are sick and unemployed, you are bankrupt. Not in Norway . You do not need to save Why wouldn’t you want to learn a new language . Most Indians know three languages, their own , Hindi and English . One more language is ‘easy peasy’ . LGBTQ education is there in all western countries and you have to live with it . All false arguments .

    Very special way of presenting Norway and especially if you put religion written by humans before history and scientific biology. Homosexuality and other biological knowledge are part of human nature (from early Iron age ) - something religion is not. 87% of Norwegians and more than 70% of Europeans are not religious - The same probably applies in India and China where most are humanists. China is actually the country in the world with the most humanists and that is probably why it is doing very well. People do not get special advantages because they think they are better than others. When you talk about prices and taxes, perhaps you should take into account that your taxes also include retirement savings and that rent and rental expenses for housing in Norway are certainly not particularly expensive if you compare income to expenses. If you have children, you get tax relief and grants. If you think that you can rent a property in another capital in Europe cheaper than in Norway, you are wrong. Electricity costs, doctor/hospital insurance and school tuition are also significantly more expensive than in Norway - so overall you will benefit very much from living in Norway - financially. I work in a workplace with 37 different nations and no one can tell me or have any desire to move back to the country they come from - maybe some in the winter - because cold can be a problem - but we can buy clothes.

    • @UATHD
      @UATHD Год назад

      Also in India most people are religious and in China the state doesn't allow any practice of religion, tibet and Xinjiang are some examples.
      I mean rent as a % of income I feel Norwegian wages are quite nice and people over complain about the matter and real estate is also not that expensive if you're a double income family with no kids.
      The one thing I don't like is thaf my worldwide income is taxed, even if I'm a tax resident or not a permanent resident.

    • @lpdude2005
      @lpdude2005 Год назад

      @@UATHD That they are religious in India as we are religious in Europe is something completely different from practice. 90% of Europeans are registered in a religious community - but you don't practice the religion and you don't read about it like in India. India and Europe are quite similar - you see something as culture - not religion. Most people celebrate Christmas - but it's for Santa Claus and the children.
      There is no double taxation in Norway - but it may be important to see if Norway has tax agreements with other countries outside the EU - which is quite common. Norway and the USA have a tax treaty and what you pay to one country goes to tax deductions in the other - because - otherwise you could live without adding anything and leave the country's expenses to everyone else - which is not very supportive.
      I can actually understand that China forbids certain religions to flourish. It is impossible to run a country where groups of people think they are special and want everyone else to adapt their lives for them. Religion is something that belongs to the heart and should not affect others - it can only be fantasies and fairy tales - because religions are written by people for people and have little relevance in 2023. State management with religion as a guide has historically always been very, very wrong

    People do not move from Norway - but to Norway. 2022 is the year with the highest immigration ever. If someone moves from Norway because we have a difficult child protection system, then they probably make some mistakes - the ones you read about - but the truth is that the 10,000 where they do a good job - do not appear in the newspaper. Child protection primarily follows human rights and the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child, but everyone can make mistakes. A few tens of rich people have moved to Switzerland because they receive personal tax which is unreasonable - but their companies remain in Norway because the country takes good care of the companies and has an average tax like in the EU.
