I'm REALLY new to longarm quilting and have been enjoying your videos recently. I've learned a lot. Thanks so much. I do have a question. For the SewTites Magnum magnets, I was thinking it might have been better to have pulled the top under the bar and then under the zipper leader to get it a bit flatter. I can see an advantage to using the zippers for long projects that you want to be able to removed to free up your longarm arm and then come back to that project later. But another video that I watched had the metal portion of the SewTites sewn into the leaders which made it super fast to load. I'd be interested to know what you think.
You could do either way. I have zippers and only use the magnets on my smaller tops, so putting the tabs into my leaders doesn’t appeal to me. Also, since o have the zippers, I can zip projects on and off easily. I always say, do what works best for you. As long as you are not going to hurt yourself or the machine. You are in the clear.
found you on FB and Instant gram! Not heard about magnets and with arthritis in my fingers they sound awesome to use. You used them only on the top and the zippers on the backing....not heard of zippers either! WOW! I recently ordered the Pro Stitcher Lite for my BabyLock Gallant, can't wait to get it! because I have a small room and it will help from having to roll my table so many times.
The magnets are pretty strong, so I’m not sure how they would be for you, but they are smaller than the big magnet bars. I would only use them on the top. I use them more when I’m loading a sandwich to test my tension. As for the zippers, they are fantastic. Contact Angie at The Quilting Connection in Elkhorn, Wisconsin and she can get you the right set for your machine. Being able to pin at the couch or a larger table is so worth it.
It really depends on how you are planning on quilting it. Sometime I stitch the ditch on the whole quilt before I go back in and do my quilting, others I start from the middle out. If I know I'm going to do a lot of tight stitching, I might do a total of 3 or 4 passes adding more elements each time.
@@adamsewfun. Awesome! Thanks for the reply!! I believe this one calls for stitch in the ditch ahead of time, but just wanted to make sure I wasn’t missing anything with your basting technique on whole cloth. Thanks again!!!
It’s probably easy I just have never done it and it would be great to help find things I’m going to ask for the HQ program that goes with designer and prostitcher but I assume you have to know how to group your downloads
I always use Standard View, it's just my personal preference. That's one of the things I really love about Handi Quilter, all of the customization options. I only use Clear View when I'm going to do a ruler heavy quilt. If you like Clear View, you should use it. I had my machine for 3 years before Clear View came out, so I'm just more used to Standard.
Thank you for sharing about the sewtites, about how far apart to you place them? Also have you ever used them for the backing? I have a women who brings me the thicker fleece blankets for her tops do you think they would hold them down for the backs of her quilts?
I haven't loaded then for the backing and not sure I would like it to be honest. I feel like it would be hard to keep everything as straight as I would like it. The nice thing about the top is the fact it can sit on the backing while I am attaching it and I don't have to fight with it. You wouldn't have that option with the backs.
You should get either the HQV or QLI format. You won't be able to do the Reposition to Zero with the QLI, only the HQV but I don't think that is available at A Bit Orange. I'm pretty sure it's only available at Quiltable. QLI will still work fine though.
Just watched your video and saw you downloading the older version of the "Fox". Use these files instead (Autumn the Fox Segments) attached in the email which I sent to you on November 01. I like it better. The background design is the same that you have. Celeste
Great video. Thank you. I do have one silly question I had to get a new PC when I purchased Pro-Stitcher and it came with Pro-Stitcher Designer. Sooooo to load Pro-Stitcher Designer to my new computer it is just as easy to take the USB and follow the same steps in this video that you showed for downloading designs? Think I am making it harder than it has to be. I just know enough to be dangerous so trying to not to do things by the seat of my pants which is my normal.
You should just have to put the USB into your computer and open the file to install the program. There should be install directions included with your Designer.
Thanks Ann, you’re BLOCKED!!! Hahahah 🤣🤣🤣🤣 just kidding. I saw your response to yourself and I can’t stop laughing, thanks for making my night. Also, it was a long day yesterday.
Angie and Sue are the best!!
Hi Adam sew fun 👋🏼
Hi
I'm REALLY new to longarm quilting and have been enjoying your videos recently. I've learned a lot. Thanks so much.

Again........I learned more and you also got me back on track from some lazy methods I had developed!!
Your always quilting something, so not sure what “lazy” things you might be doing. 😉
Thanks again Adam! Ordered my SewTites!
Where is the Community page you spoke of?
It just went live this morning, you can find it on Facebook by searching Sew Fun Community

@@adamsewfun. Thank you!
I have the Dream Big flower in pastels. The videos you did really gives me hope I can do this. Thank you again
Hi Adam, thanks again for your time. I’m seriously considering those zippers. Or the leader grips. Haven’t quite decided.
Zippers are fantastic!
Zippers are the best!
Thank you for taking time to explain and show how to use files. Happy quilting Autumn :D
Thank you for watching.
Any reason why you can’t use the sew tites for the back of the backing.
I’m sure these’s not. I use them to load my stitch off pieces too. Usually my backs are so big it’s just as easy to pin and zip them.
I love your technique for basting down whole cloth quilts! I have a custom applique project to baste next. It is wool applique. Any suggestions?

Can you explain how you set up separate folders for each group
What do you mean for each group? When I created the Autumn folder, you would do the same thing and name each one whatever you are putting in them.
@@adamsewfun. I meant how do you set up groups not just one big downloads file

Hello!!✋🏽
HI
Why do you use standard view as opposed to clear view to load this quilt?

As for how far apart, maybe 2 inches.
Hi Adam! What file type did you download for the Poinsetta Dream Big panel? Downloading my big o orange download now!
You should get either the HQV or QLI format. You won't be able to do the Reposition to Zero with the QLI, only the HQV but I don't think that is available at A Bit Orange. I'm pretty sure it's only available at Quiltable. QLI will still work fine though.

What stitch length do you use to baste?
I baste at 5 stitches per inch. Just my personal preference.
You look tired
I realized that might sound harsh- I’m just being a mom - hope you are taking care of yourself ❤️
